I think I'm like 1 of 10 people who prefer the second part over the first.
benimarus fighting style is so dynamic and entertaining to watch it is like watching a seasoned dancer.
though he is a little over the top, he is shown to have some compassion for the people in his area as he could describe them with ease

and wow that Benihamaru is both 2nd and 3rd generation eh (making and controlling fire) i guess his only weakness is his stamina since he will go overheating easily more since he does not have an Adolla Burst that does not need oxygen to create and manipulate fire

:o what makes yoy think that? Shinra has adolla burst and he did overheat.

Amazing episode! Great story of how the 8th was founded, with a very clear and simple motivation, to put infernals at rest with ease. And of course, the investigation of the infernals origins.

I think in the next episode we will find if the captain of the 7th has any feelings or no because i have a feeling that the grandma will be the next infernal.

So now i know the differences between the 2nd and 3rd generation, one control the fire and the other one can create fire. Yet i can't approve of how the capt of the 7th works, he destroys way too much to kill 1 infernal.

Maki was so cute, as always xD

Can't wait for the next episode!

Well, we saw on what basis the Eighth was created: "Respect and prayers for the hell we put to rest, release of the flames for which they are alive and treasure human lives." They are few members, but they are people in which Captain Obi and Lieutenant Hinawa have placed their trust. Quality before quantity.

On the other hand, we saw the overwhelming power of Captain Benimaru of the Seventh, and his amazing ability to create and manipulate fire, a compound soldier. Amazing!.

Ps: Ray! Now we have to wait two weeks for episode 12.

It was nice to see how the 8th was formed and what their first mission was like. I always wondered how they got a run-down building. Also, it's great to see another captain in action. Glad there wasn't any fan service in it.

I kind of like Benimaru's character but wtf that was super excessive. He could've easily ended the infernal without blowing up a couple dozen houses.

-RIP that guy. Hinawa really should've shot the poor man.
-I like the way this show tackles the issue of respect. Saying a prayer for the infernal before putting them out is very touching. Oubi is definitely my favorite character so far.
-Definitely a solid flashback overall.
-Those little girls were absolutely nuts! I hope we get to see more of them. Sometimes the comedy in this anime is actually pretty good.
-I like how the "Proto-Nationalist" referred to Tokyo as Edo. Though I guess it was just in a quote.
-Benimaru is definitely shaping up to be an interesting character. I thought he would.
-The "destroying a town in honor of the infernal" is just so weird. They have to have citizen casualties. It's just so unnecessary, and the reasoning behind it was kind of dumb.
I'm starting to look forward to each episode. Maybe I will bump my score for this anime up to a 7 one day. I still think the characters are mostly lacking, and that the first 7 or 8 episodes were super average. But, this is apparently going to be 24 or 48 episodes, so it's got a lot of time to woo a lot of us on the fence over.

So he's destroying all those houses as an "offering" when he could've just walked up to the infernal and take him out like it was nothing. What if any people were home at the time, would they also be part of the offering?

I guess so. Definitely the dumbest part of this episode. There's no way he hasn't burned hundreds to death.

They definitely have to show that eventually. Or at least, I hope they do, because this flashback was solid and the 8th is interesting overall.

Benimaru made me cream my pants. Not really but almost.

Anyways, Benimaru is a badass motherfucker. He is the best character in this entire series. He's my number one. I mentioned before that I like Arthur, Maki and Tamaki but none of them compare to Benimarui Shinmon.

He's going to do so much more, his backstory is also pretty cool. When I first read about him in the manga, I thought the twins were his daughters at first but I was so wrong.

Also, people shipping Maki and Shinra didn't know the HINAWA x MAKI juggernaut was about to wreck their ship. This is the cutest ship in the series even though ships are annoying as fuck, this one gets my vote.

I decided to watch this one dub for the lols. I first want to tip my credit to the actors as they do a good job fitting the character's personalities. It is stil la far cry from other dubs but it isn't a bad one. I find the dub of Dr. Stone and others airing right now to be much stronger in their directing and casting choices.

Now onto the episode itself...I really don't like how 8th company jsut walks into other districts like they on the place and then get pissy when someone tells them to fuck off. If you want us to root for these peopel stop having them just rush into other palces pushing their ideals onto others and getting mad when someone does something differently. Like they nearly ruined the 5th company all because they thought ti was illegal actions going on when their search could be important into figuring shit out. The same with the 7th company. The 9th needs to be smarter and not so heavyhanded in trying to police other companies.

I do like the backstory and felt it was ncie to see Lit and Obi get some character development but felt it was too short and could have been expanded farther.

Takehisa started to explain the team how the 8th company started. A younger Takehisa was serving to the Tokyo Army along with his partner Tojo and the soldier Maki, one night, in their room, Tojo was reading when suddenly he transformed into an infernal, Takehisa was with him but couldn’t be able to shot him, so other team did it (Takehisa recovered his gun). Takehisa was passing by in a suburb when an infernal event was being controlled, a younger Obi with a normal fire brigade was supporting a company, but he barely could follow their orders, so he, along with Takehisa’s need for a redemption, entered to the house to put to rest an infernal. Time later, the founded the 8th company, Takehisa suggested to recruit Maki. In the present, the 8th company went to the 7th company’s jurisdiction following a clue in their files, they met Shinmon but an infernal appeared, Shinmon reacted and ended with the infernal’s life, Konro (Shinmon’s subordinate) revealed that Shinmon is a 2nd and 3rd generation pyrokinetic.

Well, that was about the beginning, I thought that Tojo was going to be used as an stronger cause to the foundation of the company, maybe a relation with both Takehisa and Obi, or a more dramatic dead in someone’s hands, like they both knew from the beginning the artificial creation of infernals, maybe I’m expecting too much. I barely understood Obi’s reasons. So, Shinmons is op, the question is if he’ll collaborate.

A nice backstory on how the 8th Division was formed. The 7th destroy whole blocks of houses as an offering huh? What a weird way of putting infernals to rest, that Benimaru guy is kind of cool though, in a weird way.

Omg maki's recation so cute .

Daam the 7ths boss is a beast.

Also people are making a big deal out of nothing with him destroy the block's and house's . The people living their dont seem to care as they can rebuild take the old biddy for example . Think she gave a reasonable explanation as to why he destroys the blocks

He's got a simple but cool design. I'll give him that.
I don't know if it's been said before (Probably it did and I wasn't paying much attention), it seems like the second and third generation users are labeled on how they make use of their ability. I wonder what a first-generation user does.

So thats why the millitary and general fire force suddenly had a strong bond by creating that special unit of fire forces. The first form, the first mission, the first and forever vision, the first and fateful meeting. A quite emotional episode at the the first half. Its good served as a break before Shinra gone wild again in the next episode against, the strongest fire forces person in the Tokyo....

He used twos method as a people that blessed with the pyrokinetic power. The controlling power of flames by generation 2, and the self combustion by generation 3, a mixed one. An intrigueing power at my honest opinion, using some traditional method to exorcism that human flames. Lets see how well Shinra and his gangs dealed with that conservative person....

Seeing how the 8th company started was interesting.
Looking forward to see more of the 7th Company Captain in action, was already hyped for him when they announced him as the strongest but didn't expect him to appear next episode already. I'm sure he is much more powerful than what was shown so far.
He caused some minor collateral damage to his ward but it turns out it's just the ordinary Ritual and serves as Offerings for killing the Infernal.

I thought this episode was interesting but to answer the whole Benimaru destroying the houses in Asakusa as “sacrifice” part, it’s actually a reference to the “fire fighters” (Hikeshi) of the Edo-period. NHK did a program where a group of men would wear robes and carry around those umbrella-looking things to alert others of a fire or something like that. You can find more info under “fires in Edo”.

Back in those days, houses were easily flammable and it would spread so easily that it has killed off many villagers in the past. So in order to prevent that, many of those men would have to destroy homes in order to avoid the fire to spread further. Also, they made new escape routes for villagers to escape to avoid further tragedies. I think if you look up great fire of Edo, you might be able to learn more. If y’all have luck tracking down that NHK program, you’ll totally learn something new and understand the cultural reference more. To this day, there are some men that carries on the tradition. It’s really cool!

That why the Benimaru part episode, for me, was really awesome.

So the history of the 8th company conception has finally been revealed, and along with that, we got some backstory for Hinawa. In short, the whole thing was coincidental and even the formation of the company itself is borne out of an impulsive yet morally correct decision to form a company I which their objective does not stray away from those that actual firemen enforce, saving the life of people.

That's just half of the ep, the second half is delving into the 7th Company's captain, Benimaru's life as a Special Fire Force Captain. His ability is awesome, being able to ignite and flawlessly control the flame allows him an immense array of combo techniques, no wonder why he's regarded as the toughest pyrokinetic user. The guy's a literal missile-wielder!

Seeing that a different district changes so much in its landscape, architecture and cultural identity, I can only wonder about the rest.
