Ok, now it feels like they're cutting corners just to fuck with us. If they could animate Iron Frill in proper 2D then why did they use CGI for the whole fucking song of Franchouchou? I love this anime, but it feels like the CGI gets worse every time I see it. C'mon MAPPA, you can do better than this.

They should just do it like Love Live and have proper animated scenes mixed with CGI whenever it's necessary as it's much better than an entire CGI scene.

Also, for anyone wondering, the robotic voices and the laser fingers are a reference to Perfume.

Best part was Junko getting hit by the car and the waterproof spray paint

I love Junko's singing voice the most.

Plus, their two loyal groupies.

Lightning transformed them into autotune zombies.

Amazing episode!!! Damn, everyone got electrocuted, but they started shining out of nowhere :O

It's definitely starting to look like they are going to be a legendary idol unit in the business!! Even Tae is performing well!

Can't wait for the next one!!

Honestly, I wish the show could just conclude here and be done with it. It's sad to say, but compared to the first 2 episodes, this show has fallen quite far from grace. It's not bad, but it's more about idols than zombies which is the opposite of how it started out.
I'm just not sure what else they can show off at this point.
CGI Scenes aren't helping either.

At least the van scene was funny.

The speech of Tatsumi was brilliant, really loved it. And he hitting Junko with the car later was hilarious XDD

The concert was a wasted potential, to be honest, the previous group was made in animation and it was really good, if Franchouchou was made in animation too I bet it would be really nice. The thunder was a good idea to develop the cast in the future episodes, but I don't like vocaloid voice, so I didn't like it at all, sad.

If the performance was made with full animation 2d and without the vocaloid shit, the concert scene would be amazing, a memorable scene, 'cause I love things like that, like music and stuff XD

Is it just me that only 1 member of Iron Frill is an adult?
Or...none of them realized how Ai look was similar to their dead centre?
Junko I get it, because she was dead for too long, but Ai's former team mates?

The most strongest lightning strike i've seen? That also seemed to give some "special powers" (lel) for that second song. Nonetheless, that was a really good performance.

Also, Sakura experienced few flashbacks. Who knows, maybe she will remember something at some point. Should that happen, what will happen?

Finally, considering that Tae was imitating Saki at some point, i guess her "awakening" is close? Oh, i can't wait to see that happen. That is, if it happens.

I would never watch this show unless it has Zombieland in name and only think I knew about it was that I like Zombieland movie(which has nothing to do with this anime), but I am pretty glad I am watching this, I might even start to listen some of their songs, other that that terrible lowbudget CGI while they are on stage it's pretty nice anime for break.

Again with the feels. I fear that the ratings won't go up, if you put your schmalzy drama in a pretty unique comedy show. Well, they had some laughs here and there - mostly in regards to the lesser shown characters Lily and Tae - but all that gloom won't do any good. Also they kinda broke another zombie rule again. Well, while they would "survive" electrocution, a lightning strike is still around 30,000 degress hot and mostly an explosion, so given that the bodies are sometimes briddle there should only been burnt pieces all around the place. And let's just hope they never use autotune again...

Oh shit when Sakura said she had deja vu does that mean that maybe Koutarou killed her on purpose, or even on accident? Because that would be kind of a dark twist lol

How the fuck did Iron Frill's performance was animated like everything else and Franchouchou's performance was CG?

In that case then i think mappa is obviously planning something.

The CG could be a foreshadow to a game related to the anime based on this reference to Cygames - a Japanese studio that develops games for smartphones. I guess a rhythm game with the main characters dancing in the background on a stage. It's a possible way to make cash from this show.

When a show is good, you really try as hard to tone down tha bashing, but I just can't help it anymore. That damn CGI makes them look like those crappy NPCs of Gmod from the bottom trash of the workshop that never make it to the light of day. Nevertheless, this episode remains just as powerful in their journey as a band and people (zombies for now).

the fact that they had another idol group do a dance routine that didnt make me want to vomit and then have the main crew go on with terrible cg is so disappointing.
WHERE WAS IT WRITTEN THAT IDOL ANIME PERFORMANCES HAVE TO BE CG?!

anyway the rest of the ep. was pretty good.

This was probably the most effective episode with the idol side of the story, there were less jokes but the ones that were there landed super hard for me. The van just slayed me, like not her getting hit cause that was predictable but i just lost it when kotaro got out and started spouting off cliche lines about not letting her be beat by something like this.

I think the only thing that's holding this anime down is the poor CGI. The low frame rate gives an impression of stiffness/lag and some character models just don't look good. Not to mention, the switch to 2D to CGI is very jarring. The studio has shown the potential to animate dancing in 2D as scene with Iron Frill's dance, but I believe they choose to use CGI on purpose as it's just cheaper. I don't agree with theories that the show is parodying the poor CGI of other idol anime or the bad CGI is reflection that they are zombies. If the studio told me that, I'd think it's just a poor excuse to go for the cheaper animation option.

Otherwise, I love Zombieland Saga!

In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth. But the world isn't perfect, and the law is incomplete..." -Alphonse Elric

"Then and now, what I protect has never changed!" -Sakata Gintoki

I'll take anything like The Pet Girl of Sakurasou. Anything as good as that.

I love how Koutaru had that talk with Junko. He's not only funny but he has a serious side too! He hit her with a van later on though... Oh boy. Poor Sakura and Junko. Lily's heart pounding out of her chest was funny too.

But, dang, Junko's singing was so cool! I love her voice...

I feel like the enjoyment of those cgi dances really depends on the mindset of the viewer. If you're gonna take them seriously you're not gonna like them. If you're gonna take them satirically you're gonna like them.

@Adam1202P I see that as a part of the satire. Even if the normal performance was directed differently than the CGI one, it still showed that the animators should be able to make good looking dances. That's the reason I want to believe that the Franchochou dances are meant to be satirical. It's also a reason I believe that there's going to be a final dance in the last episode into which a lot of serious effort will be put (once again pointing out that yes, the previous ones were indeed satirical). But, you know, It really depends on the mindset. The dances are not self-aware of themselves by any means, so I don't wanna shove down my opinion down anyone's throat. That's just the way I personally interpret it.¨

EDIT: Just a quick thought that crossed my mind. You could also view this as: Franchochou is an uncommon and unhuman idol group. Hence the handling of their performances is going to be different from the "normal" ones. It's basically pointing out that they are zombies and should not belong there or something. Anyway, it's once again just a different way to interpret it. I could very well be wrong and it's just the creators wanting to make their schedule easier.

I totally agree. It also crossed my mind while I was watching the performance, and I got a solid laugh out of this. I think it was supposed to be a joke about idol anime as a genre and its bad CGI dances

First Junko starts to open her heart to the others. Then gets hit in a car crash that looks like copy and paste but the gimmick with car crashes in this series are totally a thing now.

Kotarou's face tho XD

Junko has best voice imo. Second is Yuugiri-- I enjoy how mature and sexy her voice sounds. It properly represents her ^-^

Tae-chan is crazy and funny as always lol.

Yes, this was a really awesome episode! Probably one of the best ones till now.

I loved the reference to the 1st episode and also when Junko overcame her confusion and sadness and decided to go to Saga rock with the rest of the idol group.

And oh my, poor Ai-chan. ;-; She was so scared in the beginning but with the help of Junko and the other members she made it!

Ai-chan and Junko-chan are my favourite girls and I'm looking forward to the next episode. :3

The CGI strikes again, but honestly if you can overcome it by excelling in other categories than I can intentionally overlook the CGI.This episode did it.You can't make a "good" choreography without CGI.It would look dull.
But why am I really enjoying this episode, like I was really nervous about the concert and I was humming along with the musics.Guess I'm in the band aswell.
