My man Lucci is back. Yeah, he is scum and not really as charismatic as someone like Croco or Doffy, but he still has his charm. Obvious Enies Lobby flashback was obvious, tho.

Also, back then I never would've guessed that Mjosgard would come to the rescue, Otohime still protecting her daughter in a way.

and fuck you Stelly, but at least we got some nice info dump thanks to you

Well, this was the first exciting episode in a long while. God fucking damn that celestial dragon is hopeless, I see one punch wasn't enough to give him a shred of decency.. Seeing Lucci and others was nice. The ending was really awesome, a celestial dragon that actually became a decent human being, haha.

Showcasing flashbacks of one of my top favorite battles in One Piece, even if those were just small clips of the highlights of the battle. Thanks, Toei. Luffy vs. Rob Lucci was one of my most favorite battles in the series before the time skip.

Even if the entire chapter wasn't adapted in this episode, I think this was still pretty decent. It's like all hope was lost when Shirahoshi was being subjugated because no one can oppose the Celestial Dragon or else they'd be declaring war. I really like how Oda-sensei planned a purpose for a character from an old flashback from the history of Fishman Island (whom Queen Otohime had saved) and made him relevant in this exact moment, knocking off the stubborn stupid Charlos. Felt satisfying to see that bastard get what he deserves. xD Mjosgard meets King Neptune again, Shirahoshi has been saved, and Cipher Pol has no choice but to withdraw.

Starting in the wano arc, some major adjustments are being made to the anime series in one piece including appointing a new director so expect to see a major quality change moving forward. Oda must of told the studio that the upcoming arcs, specifically wano is a very important arc for the story and the staff also wants to do it justice.

The same director that worked on Dragon ball Super Broli film and One piece film Z will be the new director for the anime.

After brief appearance in Dressrosa, and Heart of Gold, it was great to see Lucci back in the main story, Kaku too instead of Enies Lobby flashback, Toei should have made at least two episodes of CP9's Independent Report, or even better 2 hour special

I mean, look at this shit, it is hands down THE best side story in main timeline

Fuck that Tenryuubito. It made me so mad to see this idiot again doing what ever he wants to do.

Nice to see Lucci again. At some points in the past episodes and also in the last movie he made some appearances. You could see he got way stronger even if I don't think he's on Luffys lvl but I could be wrong.

When Neptun was about to attack the absolute last thing I would have thought of that another Tenryuubito would help them. It seems Mjosgard changed so dramaticly in a good way of course. Really surprising but I liked it.

I'm sure next episode will be good. Can't wait to see how this will develope.

This episode was full of emotions, at least for me. Remembering the queen Otohime, and the will of the Straw Hats to save Robin made her release some tears, especially when Robin says "I want to live!".
The Arco de Enies Lobby is one of my favorites from One Piece, it had many epic and exciting moments. The Straw Hats went to a whole new level. It was the beginning of his war against the World Government. From that moment, his fame did not stop going up.

On the other hand, I felt a lot of anger when the damned Tenryubito (the same from the Sabaody Archipelago) wanted to enslave Shirahoshi and see that CP Aigis 0 supported him totally. They do not know how much satisfaction I had when that stupid was hit with a club (What memories!). To my great surprise, the one who hit him was another Tenryubito, the one that Queen Otohime saved from death. This reminds me that everything in the world is spinning and the good action the queen did on that occasion served to save her daughter from the clutches of an unscrupulous patient. How happy I am that Queen Otohime's good deeds have not been in vain! I take off my straw hat in admiration 👏.

Regarding the progress of the next episode ... that hooded man ... it was ... MONKEY D. DRAGON !? 😱

I dont even think Mjosgard will save Shirahoshi, i thought Sabo will have a surpise appearance, the last time we saw him on the Gondola with King Neptune, dressing like the soldiers. When Mjosgard whip his bat to that fucking Tenryuubito, i got goosebumps and i remember in the past when he's been save by Queen Otohime.

I am aware how ever the small little narration monologues in the manga were only like half of a page each so its still considered filler material or recap that is not used in the manga because of how they extended it. Though compared to the shanks at the start of the arc, they are improving a bit. All i am saying is again in the manga there is no more small tiny narration monologues that oda uses, so that is why i say that the next few episodes will probably have less of it and instead focus on the larger beats of the story. Hopefully we get more cover story material as well.

That would just be ridiculous lol. I don't think the studio is that stupid. So far the anime has followed the manga and cued up the flashbacks with oda little narrations. But just goes to show you that even in the manga, oda did recap, cause it really has been that long since some of these moments happened in one piece and he's letting us know that some of these events that we remember from so damn long ago may be relevant in the story moving forward.

I got goosebumps when I saw King Neptune in action. Until know we haven't seen his power and it's still a mystery. I suppose there is a reason why the other Celestial Dragon interrupted. Hopefully we will see his power. Personally, I thought Sabo and revolutionary army would jump in and at least save Shirahoshi, but I am glad that didn't happen. Because it wouldn't make any sense. The moment I head a celestial dragon is indebted to princess Otohime and remembered king Neptune, I remembered there were a dude like that in the past. Oda is really a genius when it comes to not forgetting characters that are introduced. I really love the way he write his manga and how he link different incidents. He is a master at doing it. That's one of the main reason the One Piece manga is one of the best shounen pieces out there.

That preview looks very exciting. Is that just Dragon who is walking to the top 5 leaders room? Wow, that's really amazing. I wonder how they are going to take the Celestial Dragons down.

PS! People may say that are annoying by the flashbacks, but rather than that than slow progressing ep. in the Wano arc. Personally,I enjoy that more than slow progression ep. I truly hope there will be a filler arc after this, but lets see what they decide to do.

Neptune may have been strong in his prime, but he got his ass kicked by Zoro and later by Hody. Admittedly, he was already weakened against the latter, but still, you can't get overwhelmed by such a punk. So I dare to say, Mjosgard saved his ass, because Lucci would've wrecked him.

The empty throne is presented as a symbol of no dictatorships and the people that fought for that in the past. A noble tried to enslave Shirahoshi and due to the CP-0s intervention, no one could save her, Neptune was about to start a fight when a noble named Mjosgard appeared and saved her. He presented himself as the noble that Otohime saved in the Fish-Man Island in the past.

And yes, Lucci appeared, a badass character, but in a shitty position. The episode was tense, I was mad too, thank to that guy that appeared at the end.

Oda said shanks will be alot more prevalent in these arcs, so expect alot of him in the upcoming story not just little tiny screen times sprinkled throughout like it has been. That is all going to change. I am really excited to see just who he really is and his affiliations with the world government and why his many actions are pardoned on so many grounds.

Get ready for a massive revelation next episode people if its the final episode of this "part 1 of reverie" and yes i say part 1 because trust me, reverie will be back.

Otohime's effort is not in vain. Despite how the humans SEEMS to treat Fishmen as inferiors and despite Mjosgard's initial attitude towards them. It all paid back now. Thanks to him an equal to Carlos as tenryuubito, Shirahoshi is saved from slavery and Carlos got another great smack on the face! Fuck yeah that was satisfying even more so than Luffy punching him since Carlos can't do shit to Mjosgard who's on an equal standing to him!

The empty throne? Another key lore has been introduced. From what I understood, no one is allowed to sit on the empty throne. This whole premise represents the peace and coexistence between the royals and the celestial dragons. As its vacancy symbolizes equality and that no one is above the other. The 20 swords lying around the throne represent one of each of the twenty kingdoms. Although considering how greedy most of the royals are (just look at Stelly) I highly doubt that they haven't desired to sit on the throne themselves.

Nani? We finally got a good celestial dragon who is a decent human being for once? Granted he was a mere scumbag before, but he underwent a lot of changes it seems like. Whew, Charlos sure gets on my nerves. Glad another fellow Celestial dragon decided to shut his trap up.

My respect for King Neptune is rising. Celestial dragons? Pfft, give me back my daughter, please. Probs to Leo, Sai, Vivi, and Rebecca for stepping up. Shows how good they are.

Lucci and Kaku are back too! And I see they haven't changed their mindset at all. Lucci may be a dog to the Celestial Dragons, but he has the charisma that prevents me from outright disliking him. Wonder how strong he and Kaku right now to be placed in CP0, the strongest amongst the Cipher Pol organization. And whatever happened to their previous comrades from CP9?

The reverie has started by bringing everyone we have known through the series together. Garp talking sh*t to Stelly, meetings between princesses, revolutionary moves, Lucci on the side of Charloss, even my man Wapol among others. Outside of the flashbacks we're finally seeing more of the Mariejois life, how slave labor runs so deep it's under their escalators. We also saw the empty throne, symbolic equality of power, which will certainly be sat on to make a statement later.

My favourite scene of the reverie so far was the final scene of this episode, it's why I decided to write my post here. It was the byproduct of hundreds of episodes, using the fishman struggle with Otohime, the coldest arm of the government around: Rob Lucci, and to protect the most hated One Piece character Charloss who has a history of mermaid abduction. It was impressive.

I teared up with empathy over Neptune's sorrowful rage: taking his beloved daughter along with him to make steps towards equality only to be asked to let her be kidnapped quietly. Lucci actually won me over more than he did in Water 7 for whatever reason. "God's don't need to make sense", his cold gaze through pleading and crying Vivi, and his smile when agreeing to kill Neptune sold just how unflinching he is.

The curveball at the end was the fact that Otohime did make a meaningful change within one of the Don Quixote family celestial dragons. If I recall he said that he was ashamed, and he's been waiting all this time to repay them. A final touch of making this scene the culmination of many episodes before it in an unexpected way. I'm all for more nuanced dragons!

This arc has been such a great crossover between different characters of different arcs coming together. I love it!

Also yeah, that Celestial Dragon had it coming. I can totally understand why Neptune might've wanted to punch that asshole right in the face, good thing Mjosgard showed up and showed the day. Seems like Mjosgard is the first sensible, down to Earth Celestial Dragon in the entire anime lol.

It was great revisiting Enies Lobby too. When I saw that scene in Dressrosa with the Spandam guy, I was suspicious about CP0, turns out members of CP0 are the same as CP9!
