| Very good first episode. I had rather low expectations going into this, but I was surpised this was entertaining already. And then the OP played at the end... UMMMM OKAY now I really hope they use that sword animation in the anime itself. Ill be disappointed if that animation is only used in the OP. But also based on the OP, it looks like theres an incoming wave of side characters to meet later. |

| Wow, beautiful animation, quite a lot of CGI yet it was good CGI (every time I think about CGI I remember the last few episodes of overlord, holy crap...). Studio ufotable is involved in this, so it is nothing weird to see such scenes. I liked the monologue the demon slayer had while he was fighting Tanjiro, and how he emphasized the kid's moves, although it was short and pretty much an one sided beating. I hope they keep adding more emphasis as the history progress, this looks like a promising anime. Its music evokes an ancient Japan feeling, it goes very well with the series. I will definitely watch this one. |

| I thought Ufotable can never do a good job when its an anachronism setting like they did with that anime I forgot the title, but this time, they proved me wrong. And with Lisa singing the theme song, definitely the best anime of this season. |

| Questionable first episode. The first third of the episode achieves the unfortunate combination of being both boring and rushed - boring in the sense that nothing happens, rushed in the sense that ... nothing happens. There needed to be more characterization and buildup before the inciting incident. The premise of the main part of the episode is okay, but the amount of internal monologue is cringeworthy. Completely unnecessary and immersion-breaking. This anime is a prime example of why showing versus telling matters. The animation is unremarkable, nothing particularly good or bad about it. Plenty of unnecessary and ugly CGI, as per usual for most Ufotable productions. Not the end of the world and I'm sure most won't have a problem with it. Overall I'm struggling to see where they can take this story. I will keep watching to find out of course, but right now it seems the story will focus on this MC, and that is a problem. Because so far he has been boring. As an anime with a similar concept, Claymore had a much more interesting first episode. We'll see what they manage to do with this one. |

Gives a stilted feel and disrupts the flow of the action. Internal monoglues are fine when used judiciously and executed well, which was not the case here. You say that this story itself is "executed well", it remains to be seen what that means in this case. |

| Thought it was ok honestly. They seemed to rush the first part (which they shouldn't have had) for some reason and the second was there for nothing really... Could've been episode 2 easily. But I did like the art style... OMG... By far my favorite ever! Especially in that opening. |
| It looked good I suppose, other than that the plots meh, the characters are borderline annoying and the dialogue with all the inner monologues is downright awful. I'll give it another 2 episodes but dont have high hopes for this one |

Especially in that opening. nah not really, first chapter is 20 pages and they spend 20 minutes to adapt it trully faithfully. Also first chapter is the worst from what I've read (only 3 volumes so far because the publisher in France stopped releasing them... <__< and I don't really like reading scans), but they really nailed the family part at the beginning imo, that just lasted 2/3 panels in the manga and it was nice to see all of the family members and Nezuko speaking before the disaster. Opening is good, the animation is gorgeous and really adapts the strange and refined design of the manga so well imo. Also the music fits the ambiance really well I think. Really interested to see the upcoming episodes ! :) |

I don't imagine the guy just carries those around with him, but then again manga/anime logic doesn't work like that. --- I found the writing quite poor. They couldn't have shoved the flags in my face harder unless they physically put red flags all over the screen. Other than that, A+ animation. |
| Ufotable went all out. That was some damn good winter weather forest. As for story... well it's hard to judge so far because all we got was the generic MC's family gets slaughtered by the demons so now MC will become demon slayer. Worse yet, from the opening I take it that the entire anime will come down to a long training arc and in the end the story gets nowhere. Oh well, just because it's ufotable going all out, it's worth watching. | I didnt find one bad thing with this episode. Animation, Music, characters all freaking awesome. The opening was amazing. And I am very interested in the characters yet to be introduced along with the rest of the story. Strong candidate for AOTS |

| I feel like the way they showed the scene of Tanjirou's family was good, how it was a sea of blood and all that. However, I have no idea who any of these characters are, so there was no feeling when seeing them all dead. The way Tanjirou was reacting also wasn't convincing enough to trigger any emotion. Visually, I didn't find it very impressive, being more against what I was seeing rather than liking it. The backgrounds and the characters didn't mesh well and I absolutely hate snow settings. I do like the main character, Tanjirou's character design quite a bit though. I love his earrings, the color of his hair match his eyes and the scar on his forehead is cool. Too bad the next character we meet is some generic spikey black haired guy with glazed over eyes. Music was good though right? oh, the fight scene and strategy was pretty solid actually, for barely being a fight. |
| way too much inner monologues, pls let the watchers make their own deductions sometimes (ex. just say "usually demons would eat their parents and siblings, but this demon-" instead of that whole long exposition) but the animation is suuuuuper nice I especially love the OP animation was SLICK and POPPING I've read the manga already, so I hope they adapt it well |

| For a Ufotable anime the CGI is pure ass, but it doesn't really get in the way and the 2d stuff is good (the PV showed even better animation, so looking forward to that). Pretty decent first episode, good artstyle, generic premise but i liked the axe trick. |

| Great first episode, the animation is amazing. The music is sooo hauntingly beautiful. I am so hyped about the OP animation too. It's almost nostalgic and very much reminds me of some Bleach openings. |
| Pretty cool, i love how this episode goes in crescendo starting from a happy life in the mountain till the tragedy end of his family. Can't wait to see the next episode! |

| Very very decent first episode. I don't even like anime that much anymore but it genuinely made me excited for the next episode. This will be the gem of this season. Absolutely loved the soundtrack and art style. |
