How many of you have a waifu and husbando unironically? Tell me! You can show pictures if you want. But really, how many of you are actually serious about your love live with your waifu? Or do you just use them and throw them in the trash bin after you've had your fun with his/her body? How many of you see them as actual characters and not just some objects to be defiled by the whims of your lust? Tell me! Do you even know what love is? Are there people who are serious about having waifus?? Wasn't it just some meme, that came from Azumanga Daioh and was perfected by 4chan, years ago? wow. But I guess many of you don't even know this, do you? see here?? Do you see this?! Do you fucking see this!! This is where it originated from! And he meant his actual wife, not the bastardized term the anime community adapted, and was even more bastardized till what we get nowadays, the weebs with their dakimakuras and VR waifu fodders who actually BELIEVE IT! To a point they marry the damnn things, all the power to them though. It takes balls with a capital Z to admit your love for those things, and go all the way! But anyway, discuss! Why did it become such a phenomenon in the anime medium? Like seriously. |

Waifu is a stupid meme term. Nowadays people who are actually in love with an anime girl dont call it a waifu anymore, or at least thats what I did when I had an anime wife. Also the claiming an anime girl thing predates azumanga by a good amount. |

I know many were in love with Lum from Urusei Yatsura, or Asuka and Rei from Evangelion, or insert other major female characters of the 80's and 90's. Point still stands. |

I never develop feelings for anine characters so I dont have any waifus and husbandos but I think anime characters can be humanized too thinking about it, with voice acting, surreal animation and a lot of character based products, anime characters can be found real at least more approachable than real girls and guys to many waifus and husbandos represent idealism and idealism doesnt reallh exist relationshipwise in real life |

My waifu is Lala Satalin Deviluke. I like her not because she's hot or due to my lust. It's because I love her character. She's really pure-hearted... Also, she was my first love, and has been my all-time waifu. In 2016, after falling in love with Lala I somewhat lost interest in real women. And, rejected quite a lot of them. Also, I've never read her doujins nor have I ever masturbated to her... My love for Lala is serious and true! End of Story. P.S. I didn't even know the term "waifu" was some/supposed to be a meme. |

I simply adress the female character I love the most as waifu, which is in this setting, hanekawa tsubasa. I do know a lot of people use it as a meme, but I like the term to identify characters like this. |

I prefer 3D over 2D waifus, to be honest. At real they're real ya know, instead of some hand-drawn character like as if they'll pop up from the drawing and start talking to you. |

How many of you have a waifu and husbando unironically? Yo Tell me! You can show pictures if you want. It's this fucking dork Run is great. She's very quick to turn judgmental towards others, apathetic to people she has no interest in, she's two-faced and conniving, prone to envy and jealousy, holds grudges over silly things for lengthy periods of time, all of which without being especially intelligent or competent at antagonizing or manipulating people. She's a schemer who is either trying to seduce the MC or is trying to exact vengeance on the lead heroine, and she always fucks it up for herself somehow and it blows back up in her face. She's also a Memorzian, meaning that for the bulk of her appearances in the series she's swapping into a male counterpart, not as a gender bender but as a separate character who she's sharing a body with and the gender and anatomy changes on a stimulus between the two, the stimulus being a simple sneeze in their case. My favorite question to be asked is "What would happen if Run sneezed during sex?" with pre-TLR:D. So I guess I run the risk of accidental gay, albeit I have thought of that and I don't think the answer is as straightforward as just being standard gay. But I won't delve too much into that here >_. Run is a joke character, in case that wasn't obvious. The majority of her interactions within the series turn awkward or blow back up in her face. She's kind of laden with traits that would put off most people at that. But...she's really sweet, believe it or not. She's really, really dedicated to her pursuits and works her life out to achieve what she wants. She wants to be a successful idol, and she busts her ass for it. She wants to seduce Rito and exact her revenge on Lala, and always fails in both, and yet is capable of just turning around, redoubting, and getting ready for next time without a hitch. And she's a bit dim at times, but she's also got enough character autonomy to be able to recognize her own role in the series and in relation to the rest of the cast as a joke character and respond to as much in a way that feels...natural. With hurt and with anguish, which given how quick she had always been to pick herself back up every single time something blew up in her face made the moment where she expressed that she had basically realized everything she had been doing was all for nothing because she didn't have a chance because of things like Ren all the more poignant, still being my favorite scene in all of media, albeit with a large dash of personal bias involved. She's simultaneously extremely devoted and loyal, and completely two-faced. She's both incredibly successful and capable of reaching and achieving things that most other characters in the cast cannot do to the same level, while being incredibly prone to failure and being put in shameful and embarrassing situations. She's both petty and mired in grudges over minor slights, and capable of picking herself back up and moving forward without even having to dwell on it for even a moment. She is only able to operate in speeds of 0 or 100 whenever it comes to what she wants to do, being narrow but relentless in the things she focuses on. She's a dork, she's kind of a bitch at times, but beneath all of that is who I feel to be one of the most admirable characters I can think of. And I love her dearly, honestly. I think about her all of the time. She's not perfect, she has her weird areas and her quriks, but...I just accept all of those things. Run is Run, y'know? And so long as she is as much, then I'll accept whatever weird shit comes along with as much. But really, how many of you are actually serious about your love live with your waifu? Or do you just use them and throw them in the trash bin after you've had your fun with his/her body? How many of you see them as actual characters and not just some objects to be defiled by the whims of your lust? Tell me! Do you even know what love is? If they dispose of them quickly or just want to fuck them, then it shouldn't be recognized as a waifu >_> Same with waifu harems and ascribing it to multiple. Hate that devaluation of it, in a way. Certainly have never even thought that there are people who would not fap to their waifus? There are. They make no sense to me. A waifu needs to be appreciated primarily for who she is and what she's doing, but there's absolutely no issue in finding them sexually attractive. That's normal, if anything, and going all celibate about it for the sake of absolute purity is...strange to me. I couldn't do that. I wouldn't want to. Through in Run's general promiscuity and desire to be seen as attractive, and it almost seems like it'd be cruel not to find her sexy. But whatever, I guess. Are there people who are serious about having waifus?? Yes. |

I still don't want to refer to my top favorite male character as "husbando" because I have no interest in "marrying" him even in VR. I only like pure characters so I wouldn't like sexualized ones in the first place and I certainly wouldn't sexualize or treat my favorite as a sexual object. If Japan keeps on advertising like this, people most probably are going to take the bait. Who wouldn't want some extra pay after all even if they aren't serious about marrying a virtual character. |

It's funny alright. On topic, waifus can be a fun topic so I always come and maybe see your eternal sun. They portray a specific part of human being that I do admire, prefer or adore. It's a fun theater show whereas older folks used to go watch soap opera in theater. |

I'm not serious when I use the term waifu when describing an anime character I like but on the other hand it's like one of those things where I just appreciate the character and her model, plus I find them to be aesthetically pleasing in some way or I just like them for whatever reason, just how so many people "love" video game characters and what not. I see it the same as someone who has a poster of a hot model on their walls, do they love her? will they get to love her? no. we just have them up because we love their looks, personality, and features. at least for me that is. |

I don't have one, male or female. It's stupid. I can love a character as a character, but... I don't know about everyone but some really have a fetish for them. But I guess that some people only call them like that cause it's their favorite character or something. |

Yui Kotegawa has been the love of my life that started during 2013. I had encountered obstacles that may deter my devotion to her. Numerous occasions in real life during my early highschool years, I've developed two friendly relationship with two different girls and one of which became my best friend. It's been evident that she may have had feelings for me and likewise, I had. The two of us were so transparent, people would ask from me permission to dance with her and they would tease me. But after an ample of time, that feelings stoop away. The other girl however I'm less friendly with, but I've and still do consider her the most beautiful girl I've seen. Though it's more an infatuation on my part rather than actual pure feelings, it was shredded of me after a while. Then here I am, back to my waifu that I celebrate her birthday with a cake and a gift. It was a bit odd because those two girls were both my classmates so it's not like they were distant. Now I don't give a fuck and I'm loyal to Yui...more or less. |

I would absolutely house Mira from Dimension W She'd be my half pet half girlfriend Just a shame her only figure is kind of inappropriate. Can't have that on the table when (grand)parents are visiting. Perhaps part of the appeal is that most things are public property these days. Anime's gotten pretty mainstream. Having a version of something to yourself you don't have to share with anybody could be comforting. |

I use the term “waifu” to refer to female characters I like a lot, and thus I have so many “waifus” (just check my profile biography), and some of them are even lolis. For a female character to become my waifu, she has to be beautiful/cute (of course) and she has to be very special in any way: amazing development and/or backstory (Senjougahara, Hachikuji, Kagura, Kurisu Makise, Ryuko Matoi, Homura, etc., they are majority), very interesting personality (Alice Nakiri, Olivier Mira Armstrong, Darkness, Megumin) or anything that makes her special, such as her ideals (Saber), a combination of cuteness and some development (Hitoka from Haikyuu, Megumi Tadokoro, Rem, Kyouka from BSD), intelligence (Shiro from NGNL), etc. I'm a bit selective when it comes to waifus. For me, a waifu isn't just a female character with good design and a nice personality (Yuno, Asuna, C.C., Kallen). Also, if she is an annoying bitch for me, it doesn't matter how good her development or backstory are, she won't be my waifu (Hanekawa Tsubasa, Asuka, etc.), but that's pretty obvious I guess. Edit: after all, my definitive waifu and the one I like the most is Senjougahara, because she has everything I've mentioned before. She's not only my favourite waifu, she's my favourite character ever. |
