| Well, this thread took longer than expected. I do agree with two things Digi said though: one is the point about SSY's predictable arc structure of basically just confirming what is speculated/easy to grasp and that if I ever get the chance to rewrite either show, I'd choose SAO in a heartbeat. Mostly because there are more possible directions I could take SAO due to the open and forgiving nature of its setting. |

| Dropped SAO after the first episode, so i can't really say if it's worse. But Shinsekai Yori was terrible in my opinion. I was so surprised to see all those positive reviews. It had promise in it's premise, but that's about it. Watching it was a slog, so i dropped it on episode 10. After watching Digi's video i'm glad i didn't continue since it looked like it got even worse later on. |
