| I dislike it a fair amount. *Very rarely, you will actually see a funny scene. But I have to say, its moved up from a 2/10 to a 5/10 and back down to a 4/10 which is where it stands for me so far this season. That's my score fluctuation and the season has gone on. |

| I read the manga and loved it. I was super exited to hear it was getting an anime, but it's just not as good. The anime adds loads of stuff that wasn't even in the manga, from what i can remember anyway. I'd love it way more if it was a perfect adaptation. I still enjoy it though, the anime does takes things to another level XD |

| I personally think it's trash and the author knew it's trash. Basically it's best to watch the youtube summarizing the meme for you instead of wasting your time going through the whole show. I bet most people only understand 10% of the meme in it, and it gets old real fast. |

| it shitty there’s no mistaking that, even the Producer said it. and the jokes, well, i liked it, it’s Japanese comedy anime, with a lot of inside jokes and reference jokes, but atlest the VA is good. i personally pretty like it, im always curious how weird and fucked up next episode will be but thats what happen when the original is as shitty as the adaptation, at least thats what the producer said in the interview. their intention for creating this anime is centered on merch sale, they want to create a character that, even you never watched it, you recgonize it, and thats it Pop Team Epic. Popuko and Pipimi character design is just unique and different and yeah, the Producer didnt give any detailed instruction to any single segment (Space Cat Company, Bob Team Epic, 8-bit part of anime, the Hoshiiro Girldrop segment) and thats makes it pretty exciting experience to see what can be done when a bunch of people give their own creativity, the producer itself will take all the responsibility for whatever happened. overall, is shit, but i can respect the creativity. |

| In eps 7.. or maybe eps 8 Maybe its my opinion with people who faced this anime seriously. The absurb, meme, parody, shitposting, are its finest form. Combined that element above to make this show. Maybe its the first anime i saw anime like this. Another anime preview, divided 24 min into two part that 99% exact same but with differ VA, "Offensive" animation (bob time epic), and much more |

| I'm the only one who really likes that main characters are voiced by different seiyuu and these aren't some random picks. When in other series I'm sad when main cast is changed in new version/season, here I can't wait who gonna be in next episodes xD I really like that "seiyuu pairing" thing and how some of my favorite seiyuu share the same character and even if characters are the same, because of seiyuu I'm like "totally love Wakamoto's Pipimi". At first... I was kinda meh... that B part is the same, but with some differences, but after a while when I watched A part I thought how this gonna be in B part xD They are some regular parts of series I like for ex. that France one xD Just like in other series there are some part that make me laugh, some no... but this is pretty fine series xD |
| I know the show and manga calling itself shit is part of the joke but I this dismissing Pop Team Epic as a "shitpost" or a "meme" is doing it a disservice. Absurdist and surreal comedy is a thing that existed long before Pop Team Epic and that's just what Pop Team Epic goes for: it's a surreal, absurd comedy skit show. The jokes have good build up and a punch-line. A good example is from episode two, where we cut from the storyboard animation to the voice actors in the booth and a ghost appears on screen, parodying those Japanese paranormal shows. We get asked "Did you see it?" thinking its talking about the obvious Ring-like ghost standing in the middle of the screen but instead the camera zooms underneath the couch to where Popuko and Pipimi are hiding. And then it's made even funnier in the male voiced version with an added layer to the joke. And then you get meta-shit like Ryusei Nakao, the Japanese voice of Frieza, delivering the "Your life ends in 30 minutes." line as Popuko in a similar fashion to Frieza infamously stating the planet of Namek was to blow up in five minutes. I'd say if you're a fan of things like Tim & Eric then you'll probably love Pop Team Epic. I myself find the series hilarious but, like Tim & Eric, can understand how it wouldn't be someone's thing. |
