pretty nice favs. bebop, gits and akira are definitely for cultured adults lmao. michiko and samurai x are definitely like actually art and stuff, those are great choices. bakemonogatari is a great anime, but doesn't go beyond that imo. stranger and tatami are good, nothing too special or anything though. havent seen the other two, heard aoi bungaku is great and ive never heard of the otherone |

| I don't know. What would you think of a 30 year old who watches Hollywood movies? How about this friend of mine that has 2 eyes and a nose? NOT ENOUGH INFO mate. I'd probably have nothing to talk to 90% of people who watch anime. The fact that I watch anime tends to become apparent to others pretty quickly (I watch it pretty openly and will talk about it if asked), and most people try to hit off a conversation with anime quickly realise we've got nothing in common. Your 18 year old "friend" (we all know it's you) has been described so little, I can't form an opinion of that person. If "watches anime" is the only trait he has, I suggest he undergoes some character development. |

| I am a 27 year old woman and I watch anime... I like others like myself who watch anime. 18 is a pretty normal age. I have noticed people "age out" of anime about 20ish. If they go past 20, they will probably be a fan forever though. |

It is OK.... I feel alone in the over 20 club. But, there are more of us. But I have made an observation that most fans do drop off around the 20 mark. Anime just is mostly meant to appeal to teenagers. I noticed people over 20 are more likely to read manga. |

You know, I used to not feel like a woman until I hit 23. But I think, if someone feels like a woman by 16? They should honestly own their feelings of being an adult. It is such a confidence booster when you finally consider yourself an adult. It is that desire for independence, taking on responsibility, possibly being married or having a baby will push you to feeling more adult faster. I know for me, it was when I got a dog that I felt like I was starting to be an adult and that when I was 22. I got married at 23 and I just felt... yeah... I am an adult now. Bonus points for being out of my parents house for two years. At 21, filled with still feeling like I can talk to 14-16 year olds and have it feel normal. But by 23... after I was married... it was like I no longer belonged in their world... it now feels incredibly awkward to talk to anyone under 18 and even 18 year olds mostly feel like babies. |

| I don't expect family members to understand my passion, but between me and some other friends it's pretty normal if you're into computer to eventually get into anime. <-- Doesn't mean you will like it, but atleast understand why it's audience is so large. But people that have lived in a world outside of computer will probably think of you as a manchild, because most animatedmedia was designed for kids-teenagers, but they don't know that some of them target a older audience. But it have gotten more acceptable than it was before AoT, which invited a lot of new people into anime. And in my country is AoT well know between young adults (People that normally use the internet) Which have helped its reputation, but ask yourself: What do you think? <-- This is what haves the highest impact, not others around you, but how you think about how others perceive you. I know a lot of people who deny how others perceive them have no influence, yet its the exact opposite. Maybe i think too much, i'm sorry op. |
