Why do people do that? I'm always finding something new and interesting to watch, why do people keep saying I've seen all the good anime? Especially when they just have anywhere from 50-100 anime on their list.

I mean it's a good amount, but there's so much anime to watch, I especially hate it when the people say that when they only have 20/40 anime on their list. Like come on you have barely even gotten into anything, and you're saying you can't find anything more to watch?

Why do you think people do that?

I laugh at their ignorance and move on, I guess?

I got to 100 anime without any sites like MAL back in the day, and ever since I found the MAL DB I have never run out of things I want to watch. It's literally all there, on this site, you just have to put in a bit of time to find stuff but it couldn't be made easier for you with the huge DB and community. If even that is too much effort for you, then you probably shouldn't be watching anime in the first place but do something that you care more about.

Seriously, I have no sympathy for people who 'run out of shows' so early because they either never even looked or just don't seem to like anime in general.
I probably regret this post by now.

eh I don't know
maybe 50 or 100 feels like a lot to them
hell I have over 1000 titles and that feels like a lot but its less than 10% of all anime according to MAL graphs

Calm down,

It's just their preference are limited on specific genre or some of them aren't just interested to watch it while they didn't even tried to watch it yet.

Year ago i literally watch pretty much harem/ecchi/action/comedy/school then i said meh there's nothing to watch I've seen all good stuff most of seasonal aren't good enough.
Then i tried some older tittle from 2010-2016, surprisingly attached to new variation of genre.
Likewise there should be about 3-7 anime i could watch on each season with decent amount of enjoyment or sometimes finding some gems within it.

People that tend to say these type of stuff are ignorant as fuck. Because I mean, not boasting or anything: I haven't seen everything, I'm almost to 2k completed, and yet I don't think I've seen every "good" anime available.

Newcomers will come around, some people will eventually claim it as "critically acclaimed" good, and I guess those are the same people that disregard that fact. It doesn't even have to be good on that regard tbh :L

So yeah, the people that says these are ignorant or just not functioning their brains well.

Well their ignorant, there is so many anime out there that there's always gonna be one that you find enjoyable, it would be impossible to watch every anime in existence in your lifetime so it's pretty impossible to watch every single anime that you would consider good in your life time especially with new anime coming out every season.

They just need to open their mind and search and watch new stuff.

Some people might be only interested in a certain genre, and feel like they've run out of that genre. (especially less-popular genres)

Or, perhaps they just can't find one that appeals to them. That's just a typical slump. I go through slumps all the time, not just with anime, but also books, movies, tv shows, games, etc... These people should just take a break and then come back later.

Sometimes it’s ppl that only saw mainstream anime, and they think that everything unpopular is boring. Sometimes they just choose a couple of anime’s they really like, so all the other ones they automatically assume are not good.

I wouldn't say I have wathed all good anime -obviously not true- but if I simply don't want to watch more because I'm not interested it means I don't find anything that atracts me anymore.

It could happen having watched 1000 animes, 700, 300, 200, 100 or even just 50, since it just means "you don't find anything interesting any longer".

The reasons vary between people:
-I, for example, always watch shows to find their deeper meaning and to understand the deeper feelings of the characters. Since I've watched aproximately 70 animes and I always try to do what I said, my head is a bit saturated with too much info so I just had to stop XD

Yes, the most predominant answer is ignorance.
Not stupidity, just ignorance.

A majority of the people claiming they have seen all the "good" anime after only seeing 100 or less, are simply ignorant of how/where to find more "good" anime.
They've likely exhausted the recommendations made by people they know, and don't know of, or how to use databases such as MAL.
Even if they do know, that doesn't mean that every anime they might like is available.
Not everyone has broadband, and many have data/bandwidth caps that make it difficult for streaming/torrenting more anime.

You're never too old to watch anime.
If I ever stop watching anime, check my pulse I'm likely dead.

I wake up with coffee & anime, I go to sleep with coffee & anime.

Sorry if my sarcasm is bad, it's not my first language.

Yeah that is true about the ignorant thing. I mean I'm watching like four different anime just from this season and so far from what I've seen I'm enjoying it. (And plan on watching more than that, that's just what I started so far).

I suppose it also has to do with if they can enjoy another genre or not. Some people can't stand slice of life, while others don't like Horror. So it depends there too.

I agree with this guy for once. I've seen 1.670 things or so and counting by the day and one of my biggest fears is not that I'll run out of anime to watch, but that I won't be able to watch everything worth watching in my lifetime.

Unless you're @lanblade than noone should be really claiming to have "seen all the good anime" or "run out of anime to watch" or anything close to the sort.

Oooh ooh, I know! I know! Because they haven't. It's funny how the less they know, the more they seem to think they know. Ignorance. This applies not just to watching anime, but almost every other subject.

The more anime I watch, the more I get the sense that I don't have time to watch anime that I should watch.

It's the opposite with me, the more I watch the less I like.

I too usually say that I have run out of "good" shows to watch.
What I(and the other ) mean by this is not that there are no "good" shows left but there is nothing that immediately grabs my attention.

Everything I watch now seems like a leap of faith(even more than before) , some shows turn out to be "good" the others I drop 5-10 min into the first ep.

So now I usually rewatch the shows I liked rather than trying to find the new ones.
Cause in the end there is more content than I can ever consume in my lifetime.

Says you with a Plan to Watch list more than 1/3 the size of your Completed list.

The feeling that you have now of "nothing immediately grabs my attention" is a sense that you're forming your own taste. The kind of things that immediately grabs people's attention are frivolous things, often just the premise of a show. While it sometimes is accurate, it's more of an indication of mass appeal or popularity rather than something you would definitely like.

Maybe because they keep trying to watch new (I mean new to them, not new as in it came out recently.) anime and nothing grabs them? So, they drop them. Or, they don't even feel like attempting to watch them based on the art, premise, characters, etc.

There is A LOT of anime out there, probably have not found good ones in the category they like the most. So they got tired.

Like myself. At some point I watch a lot of romance anime and you will see a lot of romance anime just building up on my list. Sometimes it's shounen that I'm interested. Sometimes it's just slice of life stuff. Some people have phases they go through.

I know a lot of people who forget to update their list after watching something (like me)... After some point it's just tiring to update it all. I try though.
