IIRC I've read that Kiddy Grade takes after Dirty Pair, and Kiddy Grade is one of my all-time favorite shows.

Perfect Blue is psychological horror which isn't really my thing though.

Your profile did remind me to get on with Lost Universe and consider Slayers, though. And also get on with watching Canaan, which vaguely reminds me of Noir. (Amusingly, I once mistook a picture of Canaan (the character) as a picture of Mireille Bouquet.)
