| I don't know. I think it is a meme. But then again, I am someone who loves the space genre. I get called elitist all the time. But I watch hentai too. And Kids anime. And rate them higher than Death Note. So if you just simply want to be called elitist I would say watch the space, mecha, scifi, psychological, and drama genres. Also watch Dementia and say you understand EVERYTHING that was made in that genre lol. You also can't like too many popular things. Which is why elitists will dismiss me, but people who claim to not be elitists, have under 100 anime, and worship the floor Death Note walks on will definitely call me elitist. Possibly the #1 reason I have been called elitist is feeling that Death Note is a simply "good" anime and not an "amazing" anime. 4. Anything by Gainax or Trigger that isn't Evangelion is considered trash, they have no meaning and are only liked by kids with the attention span of an autistic child. Same thing goes for A1 Pictures, as all their anime are also useless trash. Well i like more than that yet I get called elitist all the time. And I love RE: Cutey Honey which is Evangelion with hot girls and yuri action on the side. Old school fans generally love ecchi featuring adults though. So maybe amend your comments about ecchi to say all characters must be age 16+ for the ecchi to be good. I am just sayin what I know. Most people who watch Galactic Heroes also watch Golden Boy. I am autistic though and I think Neon Genesis Evangelion has the most characters that feel "on the spectrum" but I mean that as a complement. Most autistic people actually identify with Evangelion. Especially with Rei or Kaworu- usually those who have been to mental hospitals, though a lot of them relate to Shinji/Asuka as a description of their inner dichotomy of introversion and staying away and pure explosion without actually meaning to hurt anyone... trying really hard and still failing is usually something people on spectrum feel in Asuka. Trying really hard and feel your effort was worthless to others like Shinji. People who identify with Rei are normally further down the spectrum and are treated as alien and often have felt like test subjects. Usually they don't feel apart of humanity, nor would they really want to. Working spectrum fems do identify with Misato a lot. |

| I'm not an elitist nor casual, I'm in the middle of both audiences since I can easily watch and read elitist material while I can enjoy casual stories, also I can see both strong points and weakness of each stories. I enjoy stories with great message and underrated stories like Danberu nan kiro moteru? which is an Ecchi Manga but actually a Practical Story of Bodybuilding, target people are casual audience since the story is shit but it's practical tips are so good and helpful in real life which even debunks some of the common knowledge about bodybuilding that makes it an elitist material for me. In short, don't become an elitist, become open minded and broaden your perspective, learn how to judge through the creators intent and mindset and message they are conveying. |
