| Why light still wanna kill the fbi inspector after the inspector was gonna call it a quit? ITS CUZ LIGHT DOESNT KNOW THAT!!! HE STILL THINKS HE'S BEEN DOUBTED! Com'on guys! You honestly think that light can read minds!? As for killing him, I think its so that L will start doubting light, and thus shortening their distance. So light will increase his chance to find out who L is. But of course, im sure tat light wont leave any evidence. |

I was also thinking the same that Light may still think he's suspected, but the whole date thing is set not only to know his name but also persuade the agent that he's not "Kira". Besides, in preview he confirms he's not suspected anymore yet Light still insists on killing all agents including Ray. He could kill all criminals without leaving any doubt that there's a culprit behind their deaths if he wanted to begin with. It would only take him extra time to plot different cause of death for each criminal. But he rushed all of their deaths by the default cause on purpose to make his existence clear so I'm assuming he's doing this on similar motives. Except it's more risky this time, but he must have something on his mind, whether to get close to L or something else. |

| Holy shit, Light's good. It's common sense not to accept the deal, what if he had already lived half his life span? Then he wouldn't get to do anything. But I don't think he'd be dumb enough to off his stalker, though. If only his stalker gets killed out of God knows how many, then they're definitely gonna suspect him, plus I think he successfully convinced him that he's innocent. |

| Impressive episode, Light really is a genius. The only thing that disagreed with me here is Lights intention to kill Ray. Or as he says in the preview ''all of the FBI agents''? I don't yet see a reason behind this, because they're not criminals. They're only threatening as in terms of finding out Kira's identity. But this would be selfish, to kill people who jeopardize your mission. While he is doing this for a bigger cause, wouldn't the whole idea lose its meaning if he started to go around killing innocent people? Therefor this all seems kind of contradictory. So I wonder what he will do next. Or maybe he just wants to get closer to L like this. It would probably work, so that might be possible. Also I'd really like to find out what connection L and Light have other than the whole situation right now. It seems that they're connected somehow besides that. I guess I'll just have to wait patiently like the rest of you. Or it could also be that I'm just overthinking it all. Didn't expect this to get so much more exciting in such a short time. Death Note is great. |

| Light just well played everyone with his test on the capability of Death Note. And the usage of the DN sheet to make the criminal be able to see Shinigami sure was a nice twist. |

| It's been awhile since I've seen this series, so my memories on the details aren't the best. I'm hoping that each FBI agent was given the name of a prisoner soon to be put to death, which would confirm the suspect in the off chance of the corresponding prisoners death. I don't think this is likely though, as it would lead to Lights capture too quick, not to mention I don't recall this happening. |

Please Light, don't kill the hot FBI agent ;_; Also feel kind of sorry for that girl- worst date ever amirite? Kind of guessed Light wouldn't take the Shinigami eyes offer (at least not yet anyway) since it'd take a lot of the fun out of the build up. This episode wouldn't have even happened if he could see everyone's name above their heads, and it'd take the charm out of the series imo. |

| I really like the short scene on the bus. Maybe because it was serene and slice-of-life like and then it shoves you back into drama, reminding you this isn't your typical anime. |

| Fortunately Light didn't take the offer or else it would degrade the detective tension for the show. L caught a big hint it seems.. So, deathnote can make an action command prior to their death but still realistic command. Light, if you're really that smart, I'm assuming you would not kill Raye Penber first, but kill all of the FBI Agent all at once at the same time. If Raye Penber had a meeting after the investigation, Light could use this to kill the other FBI Agent, since he can control people action prior to their death. |

| I kind of read the comments in this thread (it's not that long) and I don't understand why ppl keep asking why Light should kill Ray and the FBI agents, I mean, he actually said the reason episode ago that eventually they will return to investigate all the ppl connect to the police again so in the end, they might have find some clue or evidence on him, either it's Ray or another detective, and it actually said again in something like 10+ episodes and not Light himself saying that but the detectives. |

| It's just fun seeing the wacky ways that the Death Note is being used for Light to survive suspicion in an almost addicting way for him since by no means is he taking the easiest route to rid of everyone who deems to be against his vision of an idealistic world, but he sure is taking one that makes him satisfied with the game of cat and mouse that he's playing. The way Light used the Death Note to plan out the entire hijacking situation, to the degree where the guy even had physical contact with the paper that was a part of the Death Note and utilize the shinigami Ryuk's appearance to him after that, to throw him off was so wacky but it's so Tsugumi Ohba that its awesome to watch. Maybe the Bakuman fan in me is enjoying the craze of it more than I expected when I decided to rewatch this. Plus, the music and dub voice acting continue to excel as usual. Makes the scenes feel incredibly gripping in the process. Four episodes in, and I've really enjoyed myself, I have to say. I find it already more appealing than Code Geass too, although I can't assertively still say that until reaching the endpoint and experiencing the tons of twists to happen in the future. Code Geass was a show that was crushed by its own ambition and took so many stupid directions with its plot, characters and their indecisiveness and switching nature and plotholes that I still can't fully say Death Note has cleared it convincingly till the end. The start though has won me over with interest. |
