| What's your opinion on the names given to anime sequels? Do you find it hard to tell the difference between an anime and its sequel in a list when the number of punctuation points is the only difference (eg. K-On! and K-On!!, GochiUsa? and GochiUsa??, and New Game! and New Game!!)? Do you find it annoying when anime have a sequel title before the actual title (eg. Kiniro Mosaic's sequel Hello! Kiniro Mosaic and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei's sequels)? Could you be the opposite and find it boring when anime use normal sequel names like Second Season, 2, or II for their sequel? Do you ever find it confusing when anime have number in their titles unrelated to what point it is in the series? |

| It's an interesting way for creators to have fun with their naming conventions, but it certainly gets confusing for shows with non-linear storylines or multiple spinoffs. I'm still trying to figure out how to approach the Gundam franchise, and it took me forever to figure out which Patlabor titles I was supposed to buy, for example. With regards to titles that have weird punctuations and names specifically, such as Gintama and Hidamari Sketch, I end up having to search information about them by typing "_____ Season 3" or what have you anyways, so while it's interesting to look at, it makes watching a bit more difficult than it should be. Still, the effort to make titles more dynamic and interesting is still appreciated, but it makes me wonder if there were a better way to go about it. |

Except for Fate series. >_< Yeah...Fate is an interesting beast. With that, having read the visual novel years ago, I've since thrown caution to the wind and approached the series in order of whatever material happened to come across. In a sense, it demonstrates a sort of flexibility the series has, for where a viewer can jump in at any point and have at least some semblance of an understanding of the overall systems in place within the Nasuverse. Order can be debated for pages on end, but I suppose it's also a way to say that the series can be experienced in a multitude of ways. As far as naming goes, I suppose it's more so used in this case to denote which continuity a particular title is following, though that still requires a bit of help to try and piece together. |
| I generally don't care. A fair share of sites use dates in reference to seasons which is easy to match up. If I need the exact title I can just go to the first page on MAL and work my way through the sequels. But a vast majority of the time I never have any issues remembering titles and I don't have any strong opinions about most names for series. |

| There's ups and downs to both. Having something labelled properly as season 2 makes it hard to mix it up, whereas on the other hand changing it up can be a nice way to just play around with names. Personally I don't care, I always check with MAL first, so I won't mix up my prequels and sequels. Having interesting names also ultimately doesn't do much imo, it is just the title after all. |

There's basically two general approaches: You either start with the original timeline/continuity, or you start with one of the many alternate universes. There's a lot of arguments for either, but it ultimately comes down to personal preference. Personally, I've done a bit of both: I'm only a couple entries into the original and I've watch all of the IBO continuity. The only continuity that can be kinda confusing in terms of watch order is the original (known as Universal Century or U.C. for short) since there's a ton of side stories and such. If that's what you want to go with, then just follow this order: Mobile Suit Gundam --> Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam --> Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ --> Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack --> Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn For the side stories in U.C., you can watch War in the Pocket and 08th MS Team basically whenever since they're more or less standalone, and any of the others should be fine after watching CCA. |
| I'm personally fine with "2nd season" or whatever, but I prefer it when they add a little something to the title to really make it easier to understand (like Tamayura, Tegami Bachi, Non non Biyori,...). However, sometimes, the "2nd season" is really neede, especially when the serie has numerous "spin-off" with multiple seasons (DC-Da capo among others...). |

| To LOVE-Ru → Season 1 – so far, good; Motto To LOVE-Ru → Season 2 – sequel title before actual title; literally just means "more"; To LOVE-Ru Darkness → Season 3 – okay, I don't see a problem; To LOVE-Ru Darkness 2nd → Season... 2 of 3rd? Oh, for f*** sake!! Also: The Last and Boruto movies are the only Naruto films on MAL that have the sequel title before "Naruto: Shippuuden Movie [X]". What's the deal with that? I mean, The sixth movie's poster has the title Road to Ninja: Naruto The Movie but it's still "Naruto: Shippuuden Movie 6" on MAL, for example. • I don't mind simply putting "Series Title: [X] Season/ Season [X]". Again, it's simple and easy to understand. • I also don't mind "Series Title: Sequel Title". Good vibe; reminds you of how Hollywood gives titles to some movies; sometimes the sequel title is the arc name, so it ends with "hen" in it (don't mind). With this method, you just have to check the air dates to know which seasons came first. |

I mean Owari no Seraph II looks so much better and easier to remember than Owari no Seraph: Nagoya Kessen-hen... Instead of trying to make all these epic new long names just call it what it is... Another season... SnK season 2, Kizumonogatari III, SAO II... Though you can have a running gag in the names as well, as seen in the Monogatari series where the first 4 letters are always different... That works too But overall... Simplicity is nice... Instead of goddamn season 6 looking like K-On!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or even better yet K-On!!!!&&%($@&*^$$#^: The sequel |
| The punctuation thing confused me at first with the second seasons, but once you know about it you can't really get confused. Until you realize that not all anime follow this convention, for example Haikyuu!! is actually the first season. But the most ridiculous S2 title I've seen is using SS as an abbreviation for Second Season. That makes no sense to me at all. |
| I like the idea of the seasons having similar sequel names but just a little something has been changed etc. To me it feels like the people behind it are having fun so I can enjoy the anime more. If the series is like monogatari where before the -gatari is changed it interests me more and makes me want to research it more so I know what to watch first and all that jazz |

| As long as you can easily differentiate the different seasons then I'm completely fine with whatever they want to call it. The way K-on and New Game have extra exclamation points is a nice way of doing it, but the monogatari-series often confuse me.
