| When you really stop and think about it, it's kinda true. People want THEIR best girl to win and if she doesn't the anime is trash. This feels like a huge joke, but it's not. I'll admit, I ship, but honest to god I always try to not let it affect me... HOWEVER, I also believe that the "pick" is integral to the story (if the story revolves around romance)... You can't drag the audience along and then pull a wild card outta your ass... Still, it's becoming quite toxic.....anyways your thoughts? |

Also outright hating anime you watched and possibly enjoyed initially just because waifu wars disturb you or bore you is just.. oposite of what effect they should bring good laugh those threads are amoung most hilarious type too read. | I'm not a retard that would say a show is bad just because my preferred character didn't win the romance. The thing is a lot of these shows that people complain about have garbage main characters with no real personality traits for the sake of self insert so it's literally just a matter of "I like my waifu not this other girl". |

| Shipping culture in general is quite toxic (and I say that as a person who likes to ship from time to time). The way people get obsessed over a couple, makes tantrums if their ships ends shinked (like what happened with the end of Naruto or in the 18th episode of Re: Zero) and ends insulting others or sending death threats to other persons (or even the author of the very series they adore) because they don't agree with their OTP is honestly sad. Those people have some serious psychological problems. And I can understand that in a romance series (who is still stupid, but, well), since that is the main plot of the series, but in series when romance it's just a plus and not the very core of the series, it can get pretty obnoxious. That is why Amagami SS is master race. |

| BTW....I forgot to mention but, MANY anime don't actually have a waifu war scenario even if most conditions are met... For example Steins;Gate. When I made my famous "Japan hates Best Girls" thread, a lot of people said "But Alex, Best Girl won in Steins ;Gate and that was a great anime!" ^No, that doesn't count. There was no waifu war there. Kristina was literally the only candidate. That's like saying Coke has a legit competitor, they don't....There's no such thing as the cola wars when one is far superior to literally everything else. |

Whenever I see any "Rem best girl" comments, I always make sure to reply with a Who's Rem or I love Emilia comments just for the lulz.. Or trigger the Fatefags by saying Sakura best girl.. But in the end of the day who gives a shit anyway.. Waifus and waifu wars are as forced as they can get. As long as they don't ruin the entire story I'm cool with any of them. |
