| I'm not sure how to feel about this even after seeing the staff and the synopsis, but since I'm usually drawn to these kind of anime, I'll most likely be checking it out. |

| I, for one, am extremely excited about this. First, lets talk about this franchise as a whole. From the writer who created some of the best light novels in the 80/90s, Mizuno Ryou! Some of you kids might not have any experience with his work but I want you to give his adaptations a try, at the very least. Lodoss-Tou Senki is a great place to start. With him writing the series composition I have faith in a faithful adaptation. This man was writing novels before the light novel boom was even a thing. So understand that he has experience in this area. Now let's go on to my favorite ex-SHAFT director, Mamoru Hatakeyama (Shinichi Omata). After leaving SHAFT he retained much of SHAFT's visual aesthetics. Sankarea and Rozen Maiden (2013) were basically SHAFT shows outside of SHAFT. But with Rakugo he began to go on his own path forming his own visual identity but still preserving some of Shinbo's teaching. Rakugo season 2 was him at his peak considering he also storyboarded almost half of the series (very rare for a director to do). Him doing work at A1 is exciting rather than troubling. When A1 gathers good staff around strong directors their projects shine. I have no ill thoughts about this adaptation. It is a perfect recipe for sucess. The HYPE TRAIN IS ON! |

| This lookds horribly "modern" with all those flat faces and shiny skins. A1 on a Mizuno story... how to potentially spoil a decent thing. |
| Honestly don't know what people's issues are with A1. They have made some great anime and their animation is always consistent. If they were shit as some people are implying then they wouldn't be chosen for this kind of work. Looking forward to this A1 have a good track record with fantasy shows. |

| I literally predicted back in October that this would be adapted by A1 pictures, how shocking. https://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=1563229 I'm probably going to skip this show. The thing that might save it is the staff, so I won't completely ignore it. I'm a huge fan of the fantasy genre and this doesn't seem to be some isekai crap either, maybe there is hope? |
