before it becomes embarrassingly ridiculous. I literally can't even count how many times I watched Avatar and Attack on Titan. Soul Eater is reaching that list too. It's like you can never get enough of a good show!

What's the most times you've rewatched an anime? What anime was it?

For me, I think I've watched SnK a good 7-10 times and ALOK around 6 (but somehow, I never finished it!)

I listened to the song from this over 300 times. This question depends a lot on the length of the anime. Some people consider it perfectly acceptable to rewatch FLCL 10 times since it's only 6 episodes while they would never rewatch a 200+ episode show even once because it's just too long.

Hey, I watched both seasons of School Rumble 7 times, both seasons of Log Horizon 3 times, and Toradora (Dub) 3 times with uncountable replays of some of its powerful moments (most notably the Ep01 opening and Ep25 ending narration, Ep09's Ghost Metaphors and the living room scene immediately after, and the Christmas episodes). And I'm probably going to keep rewatching School Rumble every time I am at the lowest point in my life. Ain't nobody got the right to call in intervention...

Ahhh! thanks for reminding me of School Rumble! That's by far, my favorite comedy. Such a classic! I watched that beginning to end 4 times I think, which is a lot considering the ep count. But wow! 7 times?? Then again, I could see myself getting to 7 in a year or 2. Same with Soul Eater lol

And it's time I rewatched toradora. I love that anime so much!

As many times as you want. It's your time, your decisions.

As for your other question: Kono suba, Henneko, Gosick, Nagi no Asukara, Amaburi and Watamote. 3 Times for all.

As longs as you are enjoying it, doesn't matter how many times. Till you die maybe? :P

So far the anime I have re-watched the most is Neon Genesis Evangelion, around 20-22 times already.

First seen it back in 2000, have been re-watching it at least once a year since them (twice in many occasions ).

I like it so much that often, while on a manga binge reading session I listen to those 10 hours loop of Cruel Angel Thesis.

20 times?? wow! maybe it's because I'm not an avid anime watcher. I'm sure if I watched anime more, I could get there. Probably with baka and test or school rumble

I usually don't rewatch an entire anime for more than 3-4 times. However, specific episodes I could and would watch for more than 5 times sometimes... like Ouran, Haikyuu, Gintama, Magi: Kingdom of Magic, One piece, and ACCA 13-ku.

All fans are different. I'm not too new to anime anymore but the longest anime I've rewatched is still Spirited Away at 2:05 hours.

Why there has to be an "acceptable" limit for rewatching?

Is there a limit for the number of times it is acceptable to listen to a song too?

As long as the show keeps entertaining me, why wouldn't I watch it again?

There's no limits if you still enjoying it.
I only re-watched some random episodes of Mushishi and Natsume Yuujinchou. I think it must be a long time since the last time you saw it so you can see it again having forgotten some things trying to make it like the first time. Though we know it will never be like the first time

As many times as you want. There's no limit and it shouldn't ever feel embarrassing if you like the anime.

Personally I'd rather discover new series than keep rewatching ones I've already seen. Throughout my time as an anime watcher I've only ever rewatched a handful of anime, and only once each.

As everybody else has said, there are no limits. It all just depends on you. Not to mention I think it's great to have a series that you can rewatch and still find it just as good, if not better, the first time around.

Don't let them get you down! Personally, I think being able to rewatch a show is important to rather you consider it one of your top favorites or not. I can rewatch seasons of ARIA and K-ON! and think, "I still love this show after all these years"

I've watched Elfen Lied a total of 4 times.

I have anime nights at my house, where we binge watch a whole series in one day. and eat noodles / rice.
I watched Elfen Lied once by myself and then spent 3 separate anime nights watching it with 3 different friends.
fourth viewing and we still had a great time with it.

I haven't really felt compelled to watch series over again, except maybe a stray episode here and there for a fight scene or panty shot or something.
If you're having fun and finding new stuff in the same old episode more power to you.

My advice: don't watch a show if you're watching it for no other reason than to just watch it. If you ever feel like "ugh still 5 episodes to go?" then I would recommend viewing something new and exciting, but that's common sense right?
I don't care.

Just probably goes to show that you really love that certain anime to the point that you never get bored of it no matter how many times you've rewatched the series...

I don't think there is anything wrong I mean its your time you get to choose how you use it... but you probably don't have any other animes/series for that matter that are worthy of being watched rather than rewatching the same thing over and over again

You should probably look for other animes similar to that of the ones you've been rewatching go to the recommendations tab or ask other people for some. Or just do you

It depends on the person. I think as long as the feeling of excitement and passion is there, then there's nothing wrong with rewatching anime for a the hundred time. I don't know how many times I've rewatched Fairy Tail, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and many more. :)

I rewatched Monogatari Series up to Second Season 20+ times. Tbh "acceptable" depends on how much time do you have on your hands and if you are happy using it rewatching some anime series instead of either watching something different or doing something else. Meaning it's measured by yourself.

I used to have a shitload of time, but I haven't rewatched the series for more than a year, and now I don't have the time to do a rewatch even for the Kizu III and Owarimonogatari S2 hype. And whenever I have time I use it to play some game on my ridiculous backlog, because I actually paid for them (Blame Humble Bundle and Steam sales).

Edit: I also remember Strike the Blood used to help me get some sleep when my monitor was in a good position to watch from the bed, so I watched an episode a day for probably more than a year. Don't know how many times that actually is.

I've watched several shows through twice, and intend to do so again, but for my most re-watched it would probably be Haibane Renmei and Girls und Panzer. I watched those two at least half a dozen times each. There have been a few that I've seen around three times through - Non Non Biyori, Kinmoza, and Gochiusa - though this is partly because they released more than one season so I feel compelled to re-watch season 1 right before starting season 2.

In the case of movies, I've seen My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, Castle in the Sky, and Grave of the Fireflies more times than I remember.

it's about the journey not the destination :^)

if enough time passes you will forget enough details of the journey for a rewatch, particularly for more episodic series..

that said i barely rewatched anything

It depends on how long in between you watch the series, I've personally been re-watching certain series annually, and I almost always still enjoy the series.

Acceptable isn't the right word.

If this was "How many times it is considered sane to rewatch a series?" that would be interesting.
