DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- That white haired kid (Mutsuki) gives me the weird vibes especially since he's from the Sound Village. Still, he is quite powerful among the students imo with with those moves. Episode was okay. I'm glad to see this show has a more serious feel now. Also feels like this episode started a bigger story plot for this season. |

| Poor Shino. He's gotten more screentime in the sequel than he ever did in shippuden but at the cost of being treated like a joke by every character. Totally saw it coming when he got possessed by that shadows but I think it can be used as an opportunity to develop his character. I'm also starting to warm up to the new characters like Iwabe. He really fits with the rest of the boys so I hope he doesn't get written off of the story. All in all, a decent episode. |

| I was wondering why at the final panel of the manga today they were back at the academy. It was a prep for this episode, or simply Ikemoto wants to have his share of bullying Shino. |

| Feels like the show is slowly slipping, I can't seem to enjoy it as much as I did Shippuden. Even then I found the final few hundred episodes to be boring as they where constantly injected with filler episodes to keep production going. Perhaps I grew out of Naruto, the spark is just not there anymore. |
| Considering what I know about Mitsuki, everything that he did didn't surprise me at all lol, I'm glad that the anime are at least foreshadowing his power by showcasing him this way Still, I kinda feel bad for Shino lol....However I wouldn't even be mad if I were him considering that I'm literally teaching a class filled with prodigies that surpasses the prodigies of his era at this age xD Looking forward to the 3 v 1 next week though and as usual, this thread is semi filled with people who just can't appreciate good, proper and much needed characterization for its entire main and supporting cast (Something that Part 1 and 2 was TERRIBLE at doing) |

| I don't read the manga, but it seems true that Mitsuki is an experiment of Orochimaru (for that reason not exactly a son, but kind this, in "consideration"). I'm very curious about him. *o* |

| Pretty good episode. Boruto can solve physics problems. O_O That's like an insane improvement from Naruto. XDD Poor Shino, he tries so hard. :( Looks like there was yet another rundown with the black aura thing and now it's taken over Shino. Boruto and co are in trouble if they can't handle him. Looking forward to this fight. |

well this is getting juicy. first mitsuki is behind all the random en-raged people. and he for whatever reason thinks boruto can be the sun to his moon. at least thats what i take away from what he had said and now the fight between sensei and students begins in the next episode. what i still dont get is how in the matter of all that is hell. is Shikadai considered a troublesome pupil :D |

It's clear that the build-up to the "Nue" is over and it will escalate soon enough. And that's just talking about the main plot. In matters of characterization and proper character introductions, we were going forward non-stop. |

| Mitsuki is a cinnamon roll. I guess I'll love this filer thanks to him. What's wrong with Shino? In the last arc of Shippuden he was so good with kids that he decided to become a teacher. |

Anyway, poor Shino, he's just been the butt of everyone's jokes lately. Next episode should be interesting. | Mitsuki is way too OP lol. Kinda to be expected since he's from Oro's village but he's using all those elemental styles its crazy. Poor Shino tho, but its kinda weird how he couldn't sense that danger coming to him, he's still one of the original Konoha 11 and he should be able to at least sense something like that, especially now when he's older. I don't really approve of older generation being treated like they're garbage filler. Nice to see Kurenai and Iruka as well. Decent ep I guess. |

| Nice to see Mitsuki make his appearance. So far he's pretty good using Wind Style. Got his eye on Boruto. Poor Shino trying his best to be a good teacher, but nothing seems to go his way & now the dark chakra's got a hold on him. Nice to see Iruka & Kurenai. They have aged. |

| I watched the five episodes that are out today and read the comments on the threads for each episode. It's really interesting to see the huge disparity of opinions on this show. It is a slow starter but then so was the original Naruto, imo. If I didn't enjoy watching the children of characters I adore, perhaps it would be difficult for me to get into straight away. I like seeing the ways the children are similar to their parents and the ways they're different. Personally, I think the character development is really well done. Metal Lee being a clone of his father really isn't surprising or unrealistic given his father's over-bearing nature. It's probably nearly impossible for a son of Rock Lee not to be either identical or completely opposite to such a degree he wouldn't even be part of the cast. Given how much fans adored Rock Lee, having his clone/son in the show was probably a no-brainer. Inojin is another one that I feel is really well done. While he does come across as an ass, he comes from two very outspoken, tactless parents so to expect any different from him is unrealistic as well. Personally, I adore him. I think he's great. Boruto having won over his classmates more quickly than Naruto did is also understandable. Naruto was a completely different child in completely different circumstances than Boruto. Naruto was "cursed" as far as people were concerned. His pranks for attention only alienated him further and parents actively taught their children to shun him. Boruto, on the other hand, is the son of a well-respected Hokage and his parents are friends with probably nearly everyone in the village. Completely different scenario. He doesn't have to win over his classmates. They were never against him to begin with. Also, Naruto had a chip on his shoulder (rightly so) and tended to rub people the wrong way and push them away (despite wanting friends) by refusing to accept when he was wrong and not apologizing, whereas Boruto is quick to acknowledge when he's wrong and apologize. That goes a long way in his ability to make and keep friends also. Having the recurring shadow thing causing trouble is enough of a trending theme for me to keep watching at this point. For me, the pace is appropriate if they're planning for this to be a long-running anime like Naruto was. Of the long-running anime that I've seen (Bleach, KHR, One Piece), Naruto / Shippuden had the best characterization and if they're going to try and match that in this one, spending some time developing that now is a good thing. It will set the foundation for the entire show later on. I'm excited to see where it goes. I have high hopes. |
