SHINO MISSED. Are you fucking kidding me man this has to be the biggest choke in gundam. You had one job Shino. How much longer do we have to wait to see Iok die the man's plot armor is insane. Action was good this episode and Bael looks amazing hoping to see more of it fight next episode. I didn't really care for the bromance this episode.

I'm torn, I either watch as it airs or hold up and binge watch at this point. I WANT to watch as it airs, but goddamn, waiting another week is mental torture.

...

I'll continue watching...

From a not thorough analyse of the series viewers, it is apparent that they can watch, but can not see a single thing that matters. A shame but nature's way nevertheless.

The reasoning of Rustal Eilon is a bit weird. I mean, i get what he's doing, and the winner decides history, so it would probably work out, but: The enemy fired one Dainsleif. He had his soldiers fire hundreds.

I thought the possession alone was a crime just a few episodes before. And the fact that he has them with him and that he has a plan for them means he was prepared to use them. Whether he actually does is just a side note at this point.

How Mika can not overcome Julieta, who doesn't even use a Gundam Frame and does not have Alaya-Vijnana..she's good, sure, but Mika defeated a damn Mobile Armor, and fought on equal terms with the Gumdam Vidar, which has what is basically an integrated cheat...

I hate it when the suddenly degrade characters of when characters forget powers they had before without any reason and such. If the story doesn't work without them becoming weaker without reason, you shouldn't have shown them as powerful.

At least come up with a reason like that Barbatos is not (fully) repaired or something, even if thats almost always lame, too.

It's even worse if they suddenly rediscover their powers shortly before getting utterly annhilated by the enemy, and subsequently wipe the floor with them. Thats basically the same, just in the other direction.

"I can't use the full potential of my 300 year old, 20 meter high and 30 ton heavy mech because there's a scratch in the lacquer". "Wait, today is Tuesday, right? Forget what i just said, i'm gonna end this right now.."

Hey now, even if he can't loose to Julieta, it doesn't mean that a weaker opponent can't get a jump on the stronger one under the right circumstances. Mika's was fending off the mobile suits attacking the charging ships, he was no longer engaged in his duel with Julieta the moment she retreated. She just rushed and pulled off a desperate move before he got to her, nothing more ~ unlucky. It doesn't make her stronger than him or anything, but she did pull off one damn good move, gotta give her credit for that.

As far as we know, the rule is as follow: possession of dainsleif by Private party is illegal (stress on Private or non-Gjallarhorn), while G-horn is allowed to just stockpile them. This was made clear when G-horn officers spoke casually about the existence of Dainsleifs in their warehouse (not in this episode, but in the episode where Iok use them).

Also, we know that Gjallarhorn have some funny rules before (eg. the rank of SS family was decided with the numbers of MAs they defeated, whoever piloted Bael can lead Gjallarhorn, etc). In this episode, Rustal gave us insight that apparently Gjallarhorn is allowed to use dainsleif if the enemy attacked them with dainsleif first.

Mika was able to defeat the MA only when he & Barbatos were in full berserk-mode where Mika gave his all and prepared to die after piloting it to protect Orga. It's basically a suicidal move meant to beat an ultimate opponent. I don't think Mika wanted to use the same suicidal method on mere Julieta if he can apprehend her with a little more time. So, Mika might've thought that wasn't worth it. In hindsight, Mika kind of made a wrong decision, but it's still understandable. After all, Julia's ability to detach and throw its arm to Flauros' direction was a surprised attack in and of itself. So yeah, Mika/Barbie was caught by surprise with Julieta/Julia's surprise attack that able to reach Shino/Flauros from afar. As for how Julieta can give Mika a hard time, well, she obviously has been training very hard after Amida humiliated her and improved herself. She's young and talented so her skill is not stagnant. Maybe not enough to fight Mika toe-to-toe but certainly enough to hold Mika/Barbie for some time. And her MS Julia is indeed a state-of-the-art, agile and durable MS with a few tricks up its sleeves. So there's that.

Effing Julieta. Hope she dies soon. But I bet she will be one of the few survivors on the last episode.

I was having a great day, and now it's a sad day. Goodbye, Shino. Great voice acting throughoutt the two seasons.

Okada's timing is playing very well with the death flags.

You must be forgetting that what is going on the screen is a universe with it's own rules and borders, governed by both PHYSICS, which works just fine, and also COMMON SENSE. If you are trying to bend the story to your own consciousness likeness, where the characters you like always do the right thing and characters you do not can not use a mere radar system (HOW DID JULLIETA KNEW THAT UUUGHOOOOOOH COMMUNICATION CHANNELS), then there is exactly zero watching value. All you and them see is just explosions, apparently.

Thank you VERY MUCH! for trying to talk some sense to all the bloodthirsty viewers who can only see one dimension of what is going on the screen. To note, Julietta is the same child soldier Mikazuki is, almost as savage socially. The only difference between them is the neural system inside their frames, which means that the only way Mikazuki can defeat her is use the system to it's full potential again, resulting in a (irreversable) damage to his organs, limbs, brain. BUT MAN HOW CAN BE SO WEAK HE DEFEATED THAT ARMOUR!!11! They must be thinking he has an infinite supply of bodyparts to keep using Barbatos' "Overdrive"... Yeah, well. That would be quite logical at this point. All Rustal does is smirk at how he is overpowering poor idiots with unlicensed weaponry, using dirty tricks and shrewd but questionable tactics. Iok follows him out of respect, loyalty, common decency etc. When he sees Rustal for what he truly is, how his subordinates gave their lives for whatever selfish standards Rustal is running on. What could be more, forgive me, ironic - A man unmatched, in fact a single leader of the Gjallarhorn after he defeats the rebels and rogue member of the Seven stars, met his demise at hands of his most faithful servant who goes bat crazy over how everyone is just an "asset" to Rustal.

Such a shame. I was shipping him and Yamagi (I know it wasn't really ever gonna happen, but I couldn't help myself, and I'm not a yaoi fan or whatever else similar to that. He just looked so sweet with him), and the way he yelled at the failure was a little powerful.

How Julieta was a ble to notice Shino? Well, it's a combination of luck and trope. The logical reason was that Julieta was on the area and caught a glimpse of Shino due to some luck. And about the pinpoint accuracy of the throw, well, I don't think it's a throw at all. Julia systematically detached its arm to Shino's direction like a guided projectile weapon. It seems to be a hidden feature of Julia. Add a state-of-the-art targeting system to that and you got yourself a hit.

Well, given that it's Iok who triggered the MA-arc and killed character as important as Naze & Amida, I'd say he's pretty significant for the story in general. Heck, he's more significant than Makanai and Nobliss at this point. Also, since when a bad guy surviving multiple times a problem? At least his multiple survivals are still logical and explainable.

McG is a commander leading his fleet, but at this point, he can't do much aside from ordering his fleet to avoid Rustal's Dainsleifs and regroup. And right now, he's still busy fighting Gaelio. Also, you DO know that it's thanks to Bael that the other SS families are not joining Rustal in attacking McG's revolutionary armies, right? Being the pilot of Bael gave McG a big deal of authority over Gjallarhorn SS families thanks to their old rule that they still obey to a large degree (except for Rustal's faction who doesn't acknowledge him). Now, he needs to defeat Rustal if McG want to gain total domination of Gjallarhorn.

Watch Shino's condition and situation again. Flauros was broken. Shino's arm was broken and he was fucked up just by standing on Hotarubi that was blowing up everywhere from Dainsleif bombardment, and he needs to concentrate on aiming on a small target in that dire situation in such a short time. In that kind of situation, it's understandable that Shino didn't detect it amidst all the explosion surrounding him. Also, unlike Mika & Aki who have three & two AV-whiskers, Shino only has one whisker, so give the man a damn break. He's done great so far.

lol and which part did i even want the episode to bend on my own likeness, im already accepting the theory that after this fight mika will eventually be overall paralyzed or even die, we all know there is a big chance shino is going to die(well likely from the thumbnail if you watched this ep from gundaminfo)but its too predictable, mika's fighting prowess getting dumb down just for the sake of the plot, choco char doing nothing other than flaunting his bael like some sweet ride this ep is really just about death flags, and your attempt to justify julieta's (ughhh ohhh communcation) is so vague yeah right they could say that shino is on the hotarubi the moment rustal saw him but that doesnt justify the fact that she cant fucking see him with all the smoke, i would even accept it if they even showed what her MS can do other than move really fast like kimaris which barbatos can also do. either way im still going to see how they will drag this war within 5 episodes because if choco char's bael is just some decoration(kimaris is so badass tho it feels like he could destroy bael bu then again choco char is still smiling) and if mika will just keep this performance then all i can say is they are already doomed to die.

you know i would've sided with you with your reason but how the fuck did julieta even notice shino that fast and throws some shit with pinpoint accuracy with the smoke surrounding shino + mikazuki fighting her, i would've accepted it if she had alaya vijnana, or a fucking seed or shes an innovator or super saiyan or whatever super human shit you could think about. dont get me wrong this is a great ep but too much plot holes and characters getting dumb down for the sake of the plot

Obeley said:
How Julieta was a ble to notice Shino? Well, it's a combination of luck and trope. The logical reason was that Julieta was on the area and caught a glimpse of Shino due to some luck. And about the pinpoint accuracy of the throw, well, I don't think it's a throw at all. Julia systematically detached its arm to Shino's direction like a guided projectile weapon. It seems to be a hidden feature of Julia. Add a state-of-the-art targeting system to that and you got yourself a hit.

i guess i missed that part?? when did they showed this?? "the state if the art targeting system"

devilscorner said:
(whats up with IDIOK's plot armor?? its super thick is he a significant character?).

Obeley said:
Well, given that it's Iok who triggered the MA-arc and killed character as important as Naze & Amida, I'd say he's pretty significant for the story in general. Heck, he's more significant than Makanai and Nobliss at this point. Also, since when a bad guy surviving multiple times a problem? At least his multiple survivals are still logical and explainable.

when did a bad guy surviving multiple times is a problem?? just now really, i wouldve even overlooked it if he was even half as good as julieta or even isurugi(in fights), sunrise is milking iok so much just for the sake that we can hate someone as insignificant as him and to justify on how the plot is moving.

devilscorner said:
And choco man doing nothing geez and what the point of turning on bael again? the old geezers didnt even help him.

Obeley said:
McG is a commander leading his fleet, but at this point, he can't do much aside from ordering his fleet to avoid Rustal's Dainsleifs and regroup. And right now, he's still busy fighting Gaelio. Also, you DO know that it's thanks to Bael that the other SS families are not joining Rustal in attacking McG's revolutionary armies, right? Being the pilot of Bael gave McG a big deal of authority over Gjallarhorn SS families thanks to their old rule that they still obey to a large degree (except for Rustal's faction who doesn't acknowledge him). Now, he needs to defeat Rustal if McG want to gain total domination of Gjallarhorn.

but you've already seen it thooooo, its useless the old geezers didnt even gave him not even a little bit help, its only for the young ones. if choco char bael is nothing but a relic and decoration they he might as well surrender(unless he's hiding some trump card and fights like a boss).bec his fighting prowess right now is on equal footing on how iok fights.

devilscorner said:
and ohh i almost forgot shino has alaya vijnana so he should've detected what julieta throwed to him, from what i remeber alaya vijnana also enhances you spatial awareness??
Obeley said:
Watch Shino's condition and situation again. Flauros was broken. Shino's arm was broken and he was fucked up just by standing on Hotarubi that was blowing up everywhere from Dainsleif bombardment, and he needs to concentrate on aiming on a small target in that dire situation in such a short time. In that kind of situation, it's understandable that Shino didn't detect it amidst all the explosion surrounding him. Also, unlike Mika & Aki who have three & two AV-whiskers, Shino only has one whisker, so give the man a damn break. He's done great so far.

well yeah flaurus was broken with only a left hand that shouldn't even be a problem but i do agree he needed to concentrate so that he could shoot rustual perfectly

All MSs have targeting system, we all know that (read the IBO side-materials). Plus, Yamazin, Rustal's chief mechanic, outright said to Julieta that Reginlaze Julia is the state-of-the-art MS from Gjallarhorn technology. All you need is to put two and two together.

Meh, persistent incompetent a-hole on high position who just won't go away is pretty realistic. See Trump & Kim Jong Un. IBO is just cashing on that shred of reality. There's nothing wrong with that.

devilscorner said:

The fact that McG is only fighting Rustal's faction and not the entirety of Gjallarhorn is already a testament oF Bael's usability. No one can deny that.

devilscorner said:

Bael is a symbol AFAIK. Outside of that, it's just a regular Gundam. The show never said that it's the strongest Gundam or anything. That's just fan-hype and anticipation.

devilscorner said:

Sorry, but I don't deal with hyperbolism. Saying McG's fighting skill & prowess is comparable to Iok is just absurd.

devilscorner said:
doesnt justify the fact that she cant fucking see him with all the smoke,

If Rustal can see Flauros amidst all those smoke with nothing but his naked eyes, it's logical to think that Julieta can see Flauros even better with Julia's advanced MS-view. All she needs is the right direction to see and a bit of luck.

That explains me why Jasley was one of the Rustal's (also that idiot Iok) men anyway.

I guess Mcgillis is apparently an ally with Mikazuki & Orga after all. I guess Rustal is a biggest final threat in this series and then... what's gonna happen next? will the girls from Turbines will be there to help??

THOSE TWO (Rustal & Iok) SHOULD BE DROP DEAD. FOR REAL.

God, my emotions are starting to run real fast right now after what happened. I guess I am the only one who've been posting shit on MAL all the time but still NO ONE seems to care about it. AGAIN, FUCK MY LIFE.

What do you mean by that?

Seriously people, Is it apparently wrong for me to voice my opinions now? Because that's what it's felt like the past year.

Lately, it's hard for me to voice my reaction/opinions on things, and it was especially hard last year when I trying to love/hate season 1 of IBO (even other mecha series besides gundam series) through the hatred & especially the other show coming up where people keep telling me to hate it even though I like a lot of stuff in it/There are some things I don't like in it.

It's like if I say something positive/negative on either SEED, Reco in G & others coming up, that gives people ammo to tell me to shut the fuck up. Geez I'm about to likely piss off a lot of people regarding this anime. So, to anyone I've either pissed off or angered with my conduct as of late? Roast me. Hit me with your best insults, and I won't argue against any of them... AND I MEAN IT. Not only are my emotions are at a fever-pitch thus turning my stomach into a balloon animal, I also haven't eaten yet until now... AND I CAN'T yet because I have to go find another way to keep myself calm by doing something else besides playing video games, praying & etc. but I can't because it's hard to wrap around my head with all the shits around me lately so it'll be an another wait for me in order to find out what's gonna happen next. which means another prick of the needle. JOY.

Okay, so I've replied to a few people here now, but I guess I should make a proper comment to set out my thoughts for the episode :P

Lots of fighting; not too much to comment on here. Nice animation, if a bit busy sometimes.

Julieta very misguided. I hold to my belief that neither she nor Gaelio will survive the series.

Darn Dáinslaif team. Brutally efficient and underhanded. Rustal's analysis of the Gjallarhorn forces seems spot on.

Shino x Yamagi... Seems Okada just wants us to suffer. Lafter x Akihiro, then this? Who's next? Atra?

I suspect Julieta and/or Gaelio will die next episode, based on the title "For who's sake?", which suggests fighting on behalf of someone else; such as Mika or Julieta. If not next episode, then perhaps they will die the one after, along with Rustal. Iok may survive just to piss off fans lol.

Shino's death was pretty tragic. Sucks to suck.
How is Julietta even matching Barbatos in a 1v1? She should have died in their second encounter tbh. I hope she dies in the next episode.

Tekkadan is in a tough spot, but seeing Rustal attacking with underhanded tactics strenghtens the notion that he needs to die.

How the hell is Tekkadan going to turn this around? Looking forward to it.

Julietta wasn't, as soon as it came to an extended melee she was close to being finished. She's essentially doing what lafter did except with a far better machine.

True. BUT Mika hadn't destroyed a mobile armor then, why would she even dream of winning.

The saddest thing for me is that it is highly possible that character like Julietta will survive in the end, the character who doesn't have her own opinion and just wants to "serve".

If the opening is any indication, she's in red with Lafter. That probably means she's going to get bodybagged.

Yep, there goes the symbol. After all, a symbol only hold as much power as the people who give it meaning and believe in it. But now that the senior Gjallarhorn members don't care about Bael anymore after Rustal defeated McGillis' forces, and McGillis stripped from his ranks, the symbol no longer holds meaning outside of the textbook. McGillis made a mistake be relying too much on the symbol and the old rule without backup and not able to defeat Rustal's forces on his own. He's done his best trying to compensate for his mistake & naive tactic, but before an army of dainsleifs, he can only do so much.

All in all, I'm still right about Bael still being useful in buying time and giving McGillis a chance to rule Gjallarhorn if he can defeat Rustal in front of the other neutral members of Gjallarhorn. But now that McGillis lost, Bael's symbolic power was defeated by Rustal's literal power.

Shino's death was not shocking as the other deaths. It was obvious they will kill him in this episode.

And it's impossible for me to miss Shino since this series never tried to develop his character. All I know is that he likes girls.

And it was predictable that he would miss the shot. It was really similar to what happened to amida before she died.

Orga's reckless plan. No one banks their whole future on a single shot from a half broken mech.
Shino lots of deathflags already so expected.
The whole Tekkadan direction smells like a giant tragedy since Naze.
Nailgun op. Don't see a turnaround unless someone has a trump card or sudden alliance.
Edit: actually Julietta power level now op doesn't make sense. She fights equally with Mika & should spend 100% attention, yet she notices a tiny mech on a smoking ship and has great aim to send her arm toward Shino.

Since there's so many coments interpreting Shino and Yamagi's scenes as "bromance" I feel obligued to to inform everyone that Shino has been confirmed to be bisexual by the director Tatsuyuki Nagai during today's fan event commemorating airing of the last episode. He was written as a bisexual right at the start when his character was being established. With this I think it's safe to say that Shino had romantic intentions toward Yamagi with his invitation.
