| Yeah Coby's appearance surprised me also. I thought at first they were just generic characters. This is a perfect example how ODA doesn't kill off his characters. They keep making appearances in the show again. It's just awesome |

| Character development for the win! I disliked Coby and Helmeppo at the beginning of the series. But, they've grown on me. You just don't see typically see shouen, at least from my experience with the genre, taking the time to develop side characters like this. And, that's a great thing. The music for this series is great, btw. Don't know why I'm just now commenting on it. |

| This episode seems like a filler, and I almost skipped it. I only watched it because the others dropping hints that these characters may or may not appear later. I didn't care much for either Coby or Helmeppo, but this episode was... alright. I like Coby a bit more. Still hate Helmeppo. Who would have guessed by their appearance that they had six packs? (even though it's anime, so of course they do if the artist wants them to). I liked Garp too. I wonder what was on the newspaper that Nami tucked away? |

| Beautiful episode. Rika crying had me in dem feels 😭😭 And it was nice to finally see Helmeppo and Coby's resolve to fight and train. Oh and I wanna see Garp without his mask ^$^ he looked awesome again today. |

| Coby and Helmeppo are in good hands, Garp will train them well and turn them into good and competent Marines! I'm putting One Piece on hold for now, the anime has been quite underwhelming for me and I think that's due to how Toei handles it. I'll be switching to the manga which I know will be a much better experience. |

| Somehow these Coby episodes have become some of my favorite in the series. One Piece is truly amazing in the way it characterizes everyone. I already thought I'd never like Coby and especially Helmeppo, but I somehow have come to like Coby and like Helmeppo even more than him. And I also completely forgot about Rika for a moment, yet she had one of my favorite scenes in the episode. Her "baka, baka, baka, baka, I didn't even get to say goodbye" bit was heart breaking. To add to the character compliments, Garp and his sidekick are exactly what the Navy needed! He's eccentric, but good hearted and determined. He's likable as a hero of sorts, something nearly none of the other Navy leaders were like. And I thought One Piece hit it's peak with making me care for a dog supporting character. I wonder what Nami saw in the news paper. My first thought was that Alabasta had already fallen, since it clearly has to do with Vivi. But, for it to have fallen this early would be really unexpected so I don't think that's the case. |
| Their determination is so admirable that even Vice Admiral Garp was moved by their resolve despite knowing full well that they have high respects for Luffy who is supposed to be the enemy. Their training has gone so well that I can't wait to see how they'll become great commanders later on. |

| It's nice to catch glimpses of Coby's growth on the side. Between Luffy's adventures as a pirate and Coby's training as a marine, that determination to live and fight for their dreams remains the same regardless of which side they're pursuing it from. |

| Props to Coby for having such a strong resolve. Kinda feel like forgiving Helmeppo for his douchebaggery back in the Romance Dawn arc. Poor Rika wanted to make them a hearty meal. Sheesh! Coby and Helmeppo getting those gains! I wonder if there's some bad news about Alabasta in that newspaper... |
