Funny. Akiba's Trip is one of the "curious games" I want to try, and realizing its on Steam, it goes into the wishlist. But when I saw the cast via screenshots and video for it, I can safely say that the anime's cast is a bunch of new faces.

But the "action" scenes look really fun, and expected from what the core mechanic of the game is about: Stripping clothes of from rapid zombie maids and cosplayers.

I... Will have a fun ride, yep.

I did enjoy the first episode. OP and ED are catchy, animation was kinda okay.
So the stripping of clothes was for the bugged ones' weakness. Looks like a fun ride I guess.

Kinda mixed on this. On one hand it was fun and more than a little bizarre. I enjoyed it. Will probably watch more. On the other, this feels like it really wants to be a Trigger show when it grows up.

I'm so glad someone else caught it. Like I'm sitting here watching the show then my ears just home in on the soundtrack for a sec and I hear that. I'm all like...okay my KLK vibes are way too strong right now off of this.

Well, I didn't really catch it. I only noticed 'cause you mentioned it and I went back and checked. It's all you bud, solid gold find!

However it took me a minute to find the matching riff of the song and the exact spot that lines up in Akiba. :)

Ayy thanks lol. Easter eggs being found in the first episode.

The opening wasn't to nice but overall great start to the anime. It seems like Highschool DxD with all the undressing.

For someone that loved the game, can say I am happy about this. The MC might have changed, but he's still a pervert and figure-addict so I couldn't ask for better.
However the Dubbed version voices sound a little annoying tbh, Idk if I'm changing to the Subbed version later

Ehh, the voice acting was a little subpar and the backgrounds weren't too well made either, I do think the animation itself is alright.

I wouldn't mind watching this on a weekly basis, seems fun! Highly doubt it'll ever become better than "just okay" though.

First Impression:
Akiba's Trip seems similiar to Kill la Kill, being a comedy that focuses on super powered evil clothing that have to be defeated by ripping them off the wearer's body (and the ecchi that follows) and the animation seems very similar to Konosuba.

I like our over-eccentric, otaku obsessed MC. He reminders me alot of Okabe from Steins;Gate. I liked the part when he acted crazy to make the sales-women go away and the nerd speech he gave to Arisa in the figurine shop.

Unlike Kill la Kill that went out of its way to subvert cliches, Akiba's Trip seems to play into them with some level of self awareness (The MC at some point says that this situtation is "like a manga"). Also despite the shows premise, its been rather tame with its fan-service and censors itself to not show too much nudity, which I appreciate because I'm not a fan of ecchi/fanservice shows.

Overall it was okay, I like the MC's personality and the show had some funny moments. Not sure if I'll watch it to the end though.

The animation is great and the story really seems to make the type of this anime.

Also, Way of the Samurai anime when?

Not it's not based on any of the games. Also a reminder for anyone who never played the game or maybe complaining how the anime didnt adapt the game we got into the west. Remember that the first game and the second game (the one we got) have NO story continuity or whatsoever, each game is standalone and have a different universe, they do not even have the same characters, story, or even lore. The games/anime just shared a common theme elements which are strip fighting, and enemies that are weak when their body were exposed, also MC who are killed in the beginning of the story and kissed by the main heroine to turn into a super human (yes this happened to all the games and even in the anime)

Having watched the subbed version today, I can say I enjoyed it quite a bit more than I did with the dub. I guess the voices do play quite a big role in one's enjoyment of his entertainment.

So all reviews were removed, because their was only 1 decent review (not mine), so I hope people don't mind me just reposting it here.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm seeing alot of ''I don't like it, nah nah nah, 0/10''. I get it, but at least give a good reason for not liking the first episode of the series!

Akibas Trip: The Animation is about a otaku named Tamotsu Denkigai who gets super strong, super fast after being killed by Synthisters (basicially vampires) and being revived by a girl named Matome Mayoka. The Synthisters have taken over Akihabara and it is up to Tamotsu and Matome to fight back and defeat them. The only way to defeat a Synthister, howvever, is to rip their clothes off and expose them to air/sunlight. However, the levels of nudity in this show are somewhere between Fairy Tail and Keijo!!! (it's just quick shots of underwear). Haters complaining about the "poor taste'' in show should actually watch the show, then go complain somewhere else (High School DxD S4 is confirmed, so go bitch about that).

Story is nothing we haven't seen (so far) ever in anime. MC gets super powers, teams up with hot girl to fight bad guys, a bunch of zany characters tag along on the way to the finale. Hopefully, the setting of the show (Akihabara) can give the show it's own tastes and qwips, with jokes and references to the ''Akiba Lifestyle'' rather than High School BS we see constantly. Don't fret about having not played the game(s, their was another never released in the West). The story is original (well, as original as Star Wars Episode VII was). Chances are we will see some plot elements that are similar to the game series, but not directly from the games.

I does bug me that all the human enemies are female, so our MC just looks like a pervert stripping off girls in cosplay, considering the game this show is based on has the player strip EVERYONE AND ANYONE. That said, the opening sequence does hint to an array of baddies, so chances are our MC's will face a bunch of different anime cliché characters throughout the show (Bikers, Gamers, Gundam Fans etc). Perhaps starting out with the cosplay enemies was a bad idea?

The fact that the Shounen/Fighting-esque style of our MC's using fists and baseballs bats is a nice change from the magic, swords and superpowers that seemed to dominate anime in 2016. The fighting scenes, also, are awesome. Nice and fast, and the voice actors and animators do a really great job in making the hits sound hard and painful. And there's blood (which was a surprise, considering the lack of blood in the games)

Artstyle is very much like Kill La Kill, Punchline or My Hero Academia. That said, it doesn't feel like a Trigger knockoff, rather it still feels very original.

Sound was...ok. Opening and closing themes didn't feel as impactful the first time, until I rewatched the episode dubbed (I'll get to sub vs dub later on). Explosions, punches and quick movements all sounded really good, so theres some good.

Characters were unoriginal, but still entertaining for one reason: all of the characters are nerds (apart form Matome so far). Arisa is the generic foreign character, but her interests being similar to Tamotsu made me feel as though their could be a legitimate friendship being born, rather than being forced because the writers said so. Nikwaka is generic cute little sister, but her being an otaku makes her to be almost like a younger Umaru Doma (Himouto! Umaru-chan) so chances are we bound to get a few laughs from her throughout the show. Matome plays our kick-ass girl. I like her, but I don't know why, but she might be the most likebale out of all the characters in the show. Finally, the MC. Tamotsu is very different compared to sub and dub version, so I'll explain about him in my SUB V DUB below.

I would recommned to DUBBED version of this show. Now before you elitists come at with your body pillows and wall scrolls as weapons for having ''impure'' opinions, let me explain. In the subbed version, Tamotsu is a plain boring, piece of bread with a couple of jokes indicating that he is a loser. Ishiya just seems like he's asleep as he's reading his lines. The same can be said Matome, but not as bad. In the Dubbed version, Tamotsu comes across as a cross between Karma Akabane (Assassination Classroom) and Takehito Morokuzu (Prison School). Saab gives Tamotsu actual emotions. Tamotsu seems more aggresive, confident and assertive in dub, compared to the blank paper with Star Wars sticker in the corner we see in the subbed version. Arisa and Niwaka don't change that much, about the same across both versions. Saxtons Matome also feels as though theirs a bit emotion compared to the subbed, but it is really only noticable in fight scenes.

In conclusion, the best version of this series is the dubbed version, purely because Tamotsu feels like an actual character with history, rather than the subs version of blank the character. That said, I enjoyed the first episode and would definatly recommend.

Tamotsu is pretty comical, Matome seems like she will be a bad ass even though she was getting her butt kicked this episode, and Arisa is kinda annoying so far.

I wasn't expecting the bloody parts especially the fork stuck in her shoulder lol. But the fanservice is not lacking! (Yay) Looking forward to episode 2

I thought this episode was mainly boring, and very meh. Some good things about it was the energetic animation and decent fighting scenes. I liked the last few moments of this episode where the mc grabbed the girl's hand and charged into oncoming adventure.

I didn't think it was funny though, and the episode felt like 30-40 minutes. The only thing that gave me a sniffle was the Blargh when he "died". Overall it is meh, not as bad as I heard it was.

Also gave me a punchline feel, and that show was too boring to ever continue.

I remembered playing this game on Steam with different characters. But I like the Steam version's character design compared to this.

I think it's also because the main girl and main guy doesn't have ridiculous bright on one side hair. But they both have the same blonde weird speaking maid and an imouto. Though imouto on Steam version is better.

If I remembered correctly, my best girl from that game was an idol. I wonder if there's that kind of idol chara or it's just going to be the maid, main girl, and imouto.

It was an interesting start. Though I will say it didn't blow me away or anything. Granted it is only the first episode so that opinion may change overtime. Something about the fight scenes felt weird though and I dunno how to explain it.
