| This episode would have been great had they not wasted our time with that pointless, needlessly drawn-out pinball chase that ate up half the episode. They're really trying to stretch out the time before the dragon is revealed, which I wouldn't even mind if Pilaf was a formidable or threatening antagonist or if the distractions were any fun. His character is just foolish and poorly written at that. Actually that's probably the biggest weakness of this show - great concept, terrible writing. It also hasn't aged well which doesn't help matters. Hopefully some of the later arcs are better. |

| That torture was just so vile and inhuman, Pilaf is easily one of the darkest villains to come from Weekly Shonen Jump. |

| This episode really makes you wonder how the hell Pilaf's castle is structured. They start out on the ground floor, end up in a giant pinball room, proceed to get chased by giant balls everywhere, enter entire open spaces consisting only of giant domino blocks and after all that somehow end up in the same room where they started, which now happens to be on the first floor of the palace itself. I know it's all comedy stuff, but the creators were really making up random stuff up as they went in this episode ;) |
| Man, you guys really don't like this anime. I love watching the cast together, and I find Pilaf as a villain a well as his giant cliche evil mansion hilarious. Also the little characterization with Mai making a crude joke was nice, I like when shows give characterizing moments to it's supporting characters like that. |

| @_Tokumei-no_ It's actually the manga series (paper): the (famously "lazy") author was slowly annoyed by keeping his insanely popular hit running and was told he could stop if he had another good project to follow. He made Dragon Ball, believing this would only see a few weeks of publication (thus the initial short treasure chase, recycling figures from the travel to the west). But the popularity exploded once he concluded it with the "tournament" intrigue. You obviously know how it ended. |

| Well I guess they weren’t lying about Shenron appearing this episode… he just came right after all that filler at the last second🙄 It felt like watching a spongebob episode with that random ass detailed frame of Bulma’s chest coming out of nowhere though 😂 |
