Looks like SAO vol18 sold 30k more then Vol17 in two weeks.

Kimi no na wa sales are ridiculous. It sells more and more each week.
Both Garden of words and 5cm/s are also on the list, to compare the sales to Kimi no nawa is just not fair, lol

I still can't believe that the Alicazation arc is not the last arc for SAO and it will go beyond what the web novel was ever written. I guess it proved to popular to call it a quits yet.

I am expecting a s3 announcement sometime next year after the new movie comes out.

Isn't this supposed to say Vol.3 since Musubimono is the 4th novel in the Off Season?

Last volume only hit 91k after a month and a half, and the last time a volume to hit 100k whilst still in the weekly rankings was volume 13. So you're a bit late with that.

Yes, Nademonogatari is the 3rd volume of Off Season after Orokamonogatari and Wazamonogatari. Musubimonogatari will be the 4th.

Actually the nips are very pleased with NT16 and its developments. Most think its the best in the last few years, the problem is that the series is getting old, literally. A new anime is the only way to bring in more sales at this point.

Currently working through my spreadsheet. Should have the LNDB thread updated for the first time in far too long by the end of today. edit: this is now done.

book-rank doesn't have pos ranks up yet and I'm too lazy/tired/busy (delete as appropriate) to go through the shoseki list right now so I'll post that on here when book-rank has them up.

These are just the EX volumes, basically side stories. The main series sells much more, last volume (14) sold 43,035 as of May 22nd when the half yearly sales were revealed. So it's selling well.

I actually trust Reki to write a great arc after Alicization because his writing has improved....like a lot. The Alicization arc to me was like Reki fixing the major mistakes that he did in the previous arcs.

Also, Dengeki Bunko (the publisher) isn't just about to let go of SAO even if the author wants to stop writing because it is their money printing machine.

yeah its getting old and almost every volume after the Othinus arc were not good so you can't really compare with them...... also their decision to adapt Heavy Object instead of Index S3 blew up in their faces ... that was a bad choice...

I think they would let it end if Kawahara wanted it to, actually. It is their bestselling series, yes, but it's not as though they don't have plenty of other mega-hits. And it wouldn't be the first series they ended while it was still getting 6-digit sales.

It definitely had a drop off in quality for about 4 volumes, although that might be chalked up to the fact that it just came off a big climax. NT15 and 16 are good IMO.

It wasn't that successful but that's the chance they take and the choice they make every time they decide, "Do we make another sequel or make an anime of a new work?" Sometimes it means a new hit, sometimes it means a new bomb. Making a third season of Index may not have revived its novel sales anyway; the disc sales likely would have been better but the publisher may not make much from the disc sales or care about them anyway.

Baccano? Do you mean Durarara! ?

SAO vol 1 326312
Durarara vol 1 223722
No Game No Life vol 1 128682
Infinite Stratos vol 1 110368
Re:Zero vol 1 107538
(Overlord vol 1 107164)

^Top 5 (or 6) for sales at last rerank due to anime boost minus sales just before first rerank. Always worth bearing in mind that we don't have data for Haruhi/Slayers/the first season of the Index anime/Saiunkoku Monogatari and other big sellers from before April 2008.

Kagerou Daze left out as the boost was probably more down to the new volume coming out (each volume of the series released up to that point having gained tens of thousands of sales boost for the earlier volumes) than the anime.
