I'm watching too much stuff, I'll try it out once I finish Rakugo, Lupin, Nisekoi and Maria. Actually, I don't want to watch Maria anymore, I heard that the ending is shit. |

Looked promising. Definitely one I want to return to. Ergo Proxy on the other hand - well. The intense amount of negativity I see towards that show has, ah, put me off me from giving it a go. Then again, it is one of those really divisive anime that gets brought up so often that maybe I should watch it just so I'm in the know when it comes to those references/discussions. |

Well it's not like I haven't heard a lot of praise for it - because I have. I have heard a fair amount of criticism for it though, including: Pretentiousness/edgy (I take both words with a grain of salt though), awful filler, stagnant/turgid at times, and holy hell the amount of differing opinions on the cast....I've seen people saying "oh the characters were all interesting and important" / "all the characters were boring/vague except for Pino" / "I l hated Pino but the other characters were okay" I mean, Jesus make up your minds. There seems to be some sort of divide on the first half versus the second half too, though I don't know too much about that (also something about the ending being rushed?). I also see 'wasted potential' thrown around a lot - criticizing the storytelling and accusing Ergo Proxy of having so many themes it didn't know what to do with them. It seems like a pretty divisive show to me. I'll probably watch it at some point someday though. |
