It's not a re-release. It got a sales boost somehow, because this BD has charted for 151 weeks now with the release date of 2009/04/16, according to the data from Oricon Youtaiju. |

I mean given the hate it has been getting pretty much everywhere they should be more than happy with 2k sales on this. We basicly have Osomatsu and KonoSuba that manage to rank decently. If they keep stable on 2k for Phantom World that makes it one of the better selling things from the season outside Osomatsu and KonoSuba pretty much (iirc) |

The only thing that could possibly explain Advent Children charting would be Final Fantasy XV hype, the Final Fantasy VII remake hasn't had anything huge revealed for a while now. |

Fab to see Gochuumon wa Usagi desu ka?? up there selling incredibly well again, joyous series. Hope we get a S3 when there is enough material somewhere down the line. Blu Ray + DVD 2,588 *2,588 Musaigen no Phantom World Vol.1 A shame it didn't sell well but at least it didn't bomb. The series was a lot of fun and a refreshing take on it's genre. |

Hopefully Kyoani now realize that they need to bring some originality to the table. Simply typical moe, kawaii, low-key humor doesn't cut it. Hyouka sold rather well didn't it? I'll bet "A silent voice" will do well too. It's high time they served some proper food with all that eye candy. |

Hopefully those Musaigen numbers will teach KyoAni a good lesson. They made a filler fest out of a rather interesting novel that gets extremely dark by volume 2. It will be their worst sold series ever since Munto TV (the only KyoAni series I have not seen to this day.) What can I say, I am glad? The resources in art and animation they have exhausted in Musaigen make me think it cost a lot to produce compared to, say for example, Tamako Market. So the numbers are quite glaring. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Previous KyoAni numbers under 6K average (first release only) 1. *,449 Munto TV 2. 3,024 Nichijou* 3. 3,821 Tamako Market° 4. 4,506 Kyoukai no Kanata* ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ *excluding re-release (Nichijou that added another 3,996 and Kyokai no Kanata another 1,515 to their first releases) °ended up with an award winning movie that sold over 10K? iirc. source: someanimething |

Osomatsu-san v1 110,407 Osomatsu-san v2 81,052 Osomatsu-san v3 61,387 Volume 3 is selling much better than I anticipated and the drop still isn't as big as people were expecting. Surprised to see v1 and 2 still here because the event ticket application periods have been over for quite a while. Xenocrisi said: When does the 4th volume of Osomatsu-san come out? 27th April |

Oh well, it was probably the worst KyoAni show I've seen in recent years and I thought they couldn't sink any lower after Chu-2 Ren. Supposedly this is their worst selling volume 1 since SoraAge. |

Their store doesn't account for that much. It's not very big. The LN hasn't ranked once though. The only LN to ever sell enough to rank was High Speed and that didn't even sell that much either. And obviously this model works for them, seeing as they produced more hits than failures, but if they kept producing failures this certainly would not stick around. If they didn't have Chu-2, Free! and Hibike to bank on they wouldn't be pulling high risk adaptions like these originals. |

I was always intrigued about that. Does Oricon counts specialized shops, like Kyo Animation shop or Toei animation shop? And if it doesn't, does this shops have even a relevant number of disk sales? |

If it's a high seller (10k+ or so), then the majority of sales should be most likely from Amazon JP, Animate or gamers. |

Stores from PA works, KyoAni, Toei etc have some special merchandise, so maybe fans will eventually move toward these studio stores. Not sure if these stores are a new trend or existed forever, but no Amazon 15% commission or forced sales is nice for them. Why would some shows like Musaigen not start with LE? Is that a kyoani thing? |
