| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Heh not bad, they managed to get Mary back to her senses. I'm actually also impressed by some of the stealth tactics of the party as well. Action was neat, different from some of the other episodes. Still thought it was fun to watch and Mary played a nice little role in the fight.  Thought the insert song used during the fight was better than usual for some reason. Got some respect for Ranta this episode too. |

| Yes. Holy shit, perfectly handled. I failed to consider they could just switch up the scenes, damn, so well handled. I wish they made it come cliffhangery tho. xD I remember the illustration in the novel made me really hype.  I hope next episode follows the novels more in what happened though, I kinda worried for a sec they were going to cut out a lot of things but they got on track nicely. Considering there's illustration for a certain monster though I don't think I should have to worry, hopefully they handle it as strongly as they handle this and make the novels justice. Amazing episode, their team work during the battle and their running away were perfect. |

C'mon!" but then I felt dumb as I realized that they just rearranged things and in my opinion to the better. For example I like it way better that they fought Mary's ex comrades now and not at a later point. I can't really say why because it would involve things that happen next episode but I guess you maybe know where I'm coming from. The scene you mention with Ranta being left behind was done perfectly. The fact that it wasn't a simple ladder but this huge construct made it even better. And hell he even sacrificed himself even more than in the LN for which I have to give him props for. I just hope people will restrain themselves from mentioning anything from the LN at this point. With all those rearrangements you never know whether it will be shown next episode or not. Yeah I really hope they handle "that" next episode as good as this. Maybe they even give us a little goodie and extend "that" a little bit. Great that there are other LN readers that are very pleased with this episode and its changes :) |

Yeah all in all it sucks that this has only 12 episodes and one cour. Hm I guess I know what they cut shorter in order to get more out of "that" which isn't honestly a bad choice. All in all as a LN reader I was more than satisfied with this episode. And you are right the scene of their escape was so intense. I might even say it was handled better than in the source material. You know there they only ran straight through the caves and climbed up the ladders but here it went through all kind of terrain. Oh also did you realize that they left out a certain scene that Haru has at this point? That soundtrack also fit perfectly. I listened to it on toho's youtube channel and it might be that exact reason why I'll buy the CDs. |
| That "You got jumpscare but the nearest person next to you is the most annoying person BUT you have to hug someone at the moment, so..." moment. So Mary get to see her previous team member and make a proper "R.I.P" moment for them. I get it, so that's the word "Ash" of this Anime is about. Thank you for the explanation, Haruhiro. Totally like this Insert song better than the previous sad, tear-jerker one. |

| Ranta actually behaved like a real teammate, great! .....he is also so brave, which is another plus for him. Being dispelled must be nice, because you get free hug from Mary :) That insert song, it would have been more fitting if it was used when they beat up Kobolds or successfully saving Ranta. |

| Ranta really bossed it in these battles, he has a sick sharp eye. Also saving Haruhiro and sacrificing himself, fuck man. Hope that he gets out of there unharmed. Mary got her closure :) |
| Another very strong episode this week. The first half with Mary facing her undead friends was very emotional and moving. At least she was able to lay them to rest. The second half was very exciting as the party attempted to make it out alive. Ranta was a bit better this week, but I don't see their rescue operation of him going smoothly. Last week I feared he might get one of his friends killed, still hope I'm wrong. Either way next week's finale should be very strong, fitting for this imo unexpectedly strong series. |
| Officially my AOTS and the only show I can still give a 10 this season, finish strong and I'll be forced to give it one. God this episode really was an emotional rollercoaster. |

| Glad Mary was able to get her closure properly, but the way the dead still had the skills they had when alive was almost as interesting, albeit more bizarre. Also, I totally predicted Ranta ending up in trouble, but not like that. If anything, I thought he would somehow cause problems for the rest of the party by being an idiot; I'm glad the series hasn't chosen that path though. |
| I felt kind of bad for Mary having to do that to her old friends, but at least now they can rest in peace. The second half of this episode was really intense though. It was nice to see that Ranta actually wasn't too annoying in this episode, with him saving Shihoru and cooperating with the team without too many issues. I'll be kind of amazed if all of them make it out of this alive. |

You're right, these are all points in the story that could happen at the start of a season 2, gives me hopes. Oh yeah this and what happens afterwards are the two things that have to be adapted perfectly in order to satisfy me :D. |

That Haruhiro flashback could still be added in next episode, it just needs a moment where Haruhiro feels like he is about to die, and could probably take only 30 seconds. |

| @Paulo27 Oh that, I did see it before but thought it was fan made. But yeah, with how this ep ended it should appear next. I have a bit of hope that Souma group will appear in last episode because the Grimgar Social game does have those 3 unique classes from Souma group when you try to sort by class, even thought there is no characters of those classes so far in the game. But they could just add some original characters with that class, as the game already have many original ones. |

| Best episode of the series for now. Good amount of drama, action and soundtrack. Ranta was the MVP of the episode, I don't think he would die, but he was really awesome sacrificing himself for the team. I hope the final battle will be epic. |

| Hang in there little buddy. Fighting against the undead showed them their weaknesses and how they can improve. I doubt Ranta will die, I hope he doesn't the series wouldn't be the same without him, he plays an integral part. |

| The last couple episodes have been top-tier after a sluggish, repetitive, and boring start. Glad to see that sticking with this has paid off. Hope it finishes on a strong note because it is really on the up-swing for a top-3 finish this season. |

| I love the slow pacing this anime generally takes but i got to admit, speeding it up just a bit really made this episode feel intense. I hear a lot of times when people say that the episode felt like a few minutes and most of the time i think they are just saying that to create hype but this is one of the few times where it actually felt much shorter than it was. At the end with Ranta about to fight the kobolds i actually thought we reached the half way point there forgetting the half way card earlier. About the episode. It was nnice to see some closer for Mary turning her friends into ash. We get to see a bit more of Ranta finally being less of an ass. Now he is about to risk it all for his friends. The fights were gorgeous this episode and the music was amazing. The metal rock guitar when they fought Mary's friends was awesome and pumped me up while slowing down into a more depressing bittersweet tone at the end. The scene where they were doing parkour through the mines was so hype. It was epic and the insert song in the background just made the scene more intense. Another amazing episode of grimgar. I hope Ranta doesnt die. He can be an ass but he is an important member of the team and they need him. I guess they will end off with the rescue mission. I really hope there is a season 2. If you look at the episode title for next week its something like "See you tomorrow". i hope this is a hint to a season 2 because this anime is amazing and deserves one. The scene where yume hugs ranta was really funny. I guess she needed some kind of weakness which i thought was really cute. And the scene where ranta looks at yume and she just stares back with a blank expression. That was priceless. |

| Iv never been a fan of Ranta, he's very unlikeable. But this episode he redeemed himself, he really pulled his weight. I do hope that bastard makes it out of their alive but I won't give him Yume, she's to good for him Seems that Mary has finally been able to put her old friends to rest, hoping that they all get closer as a group now. |

| Was surprised at the rearranged scenes and all but then I realized that it seems to flow better than the novel. Now, I just need them to adapt 2 more scenes perfectly in the next episode and then I'll be satisfied with this adaptation. |
| Awesome episode ! The way mary dealt with her undead friends with the help of the team , and the way her friend hugged her back just before turning into ash . The fights were handled well and the music was very good . Ranta did well in this episode, and he showed that he actually cared for haruhiro even though they quarrel most of the times. |

| The fight in the beginning is what we should have gotten for the series. There was no insert music to drown out the dialogue. We get to see actual team work and strategy and it had a logical flow to it. Everything was contained in that scene. Surprisingly good episode. Subtitles called him Haru this time and mentioned the undead king instead of "No Life King". Some improvement! |
