I was just wondering about other peoples anime watching habits, I guess!

How often do you take breaks from watching anime?
What is the longest amount of time you've gone without watching one?
Have you ever took a break in the middle of a series?

When I think about it, I don't actually go over a week or two without watching an anime if I can help it...ofc life, work and exams get in the way sometimes but I can't do much about that. I don't burn out that much, but I have taken one month breaks here and there. For example, if I've seen a masterpiece of an anime, I'll hold off watching another until i've "recovered". XD

>How often do you take breaks from watching anime?
rarely

>What is the longest amount of time you've gone without watching one?
assuming you mean "one episode", and excluding the time before i started watching lots of anime on pc.. probably 3 weeks in summer vacation

but assuming you mean "one full series", or including the time before i started watching more seriously, then it easily goes to 1-2 months for full series, and years for before i started watching lots of stuff

>Have you ever took a break in the middle of a series?
all the time

I never willingly take a break. It's either we have no internet connection or a very slow one that I take my forced break. I watch anime almost half a day everyday...

I do every now and then. My breaks are basically just watching 1 long running shounen episode a day because they don't require me to be engaged in the story.
I've taken breaks in the middle of series numerous times mostly because the show didn't draw me in as much as I'd hoped it would.

The only time I take breaks is when duty (school and work) calls. The most I spent without was 2-3 days. Even then, I read manga instead.

I rarely take breaks during which I don't watch any anime at all. I do have times when I watch less though.
Right now I'm in a full binge-watching mode, I've finished 17 series since the beginning of the year and there are no signs of stopping. I guess college can do that to you. :P

Not that often usually every couple months i stop watching for about a couple days

What is the longest amount of time you've gone without watching one?
Longest time without watching an anime would probably be about 2 weeks

Have you ever took a break in the middle of a series?
Not much but only if a show bores me then I will just watch one episode every so often or I will try and binge watch the rest

My viewing habits are rather sporadic. I will binge on anime for 6-8 months and then stop watching for 3-4 months. Rinse and repeat.

There's no breaks or burn outs for me, because I usually watch only two episodes per day since last year (before I used to watch more, yet with no regularity at all). But I did take a break for several months in 2014 unintentionally, there were many girls in my life and so little time, I hadn't even noticed that I was watching just one episode weekly (One Piece).

If I watch a bunch of duds in a row I usually just give up for a while. I'm not particularly pleased with the current anime season right now so I'm not keeping up with anything that's new.

As long as i always explore different genre's regularly, i end up rarely getting burned out. This include watching anime i have high expectations of, anime that i expect to be awful and anime where i know nothing about except for its genre.

There are at times when i burn out and during those times i would just stop watching and play video games for a while.

(also i have difficulty going on a marathon in watching anime having my record be 26, but i have friends who managed to watch 50 episodes in one long run)

I don't watch anime for the sake of watching anime - it is not an obsession to me. I watch when I feel like it, and that kinda averages out to 1 episode a day over time, but I can sometimes go up to 3 days without watching any.

I've begun watching anime weekly a year ago. Now, a month passed and I didn't watch a thing, nor completed my unfinished anime. Though it's just temporary, until I get my things done.

None intentionally, it usually happens when I start playing a new video game.

I don't really. Some seasons I watch less than others.

What is the longest amount of time you've gone without watching one?
In recent years, maybe... two weeks? It's more that I just don't have any motivation to watch anime (or anything else) sometimes.

Have you ever took a break in the middle of a series?
More than 100 of them, lol. But that's because I'm lazy as fuck on top of no motivation. I do plan to watch them all (well, most of them) at some stage, and I do have the majority downloaded, so...

How often do you take breaks from watching anime?
= I take breaks when there's exams, important events or when I'm really not in the mood to watch.

What is the longest amount of time you've gone without watching one?
= Last year I didn't watch a show in 5 months, I was busy with college at that time.

Have you ever took a break in the middle of a series?
= Wasn't actually a break but it happened with Mirai Nikki, there was a 3 day gap within Episode 14 - 15 'cause I had problem and it frustrated me, It's okay for me to take breaks if a show is more than 50 episodes but if it's 1 or 2 cours, I don't want any gaps.

I usually do when i finish three or more anime in a week, and restart when i want to Watch a specific anime. I Don't Have so much time to Watch anime everyday, and I hate pause an anime, so I watch 2 or 3 anime every week, then a little pause and I restart.
2. Five months, it was before I Really get into anime.
3. Yeah, sometimes (But I hate to do that). It happens with FMA Brotherhood for example.

I used to watch anime 24/7 freshman year of high school (5 years ago). I was able to complete at least 4/5 of my completed list here. I remember being able to finish "The Prince of Tennis" (over 180 episodes, 30 minutes each) in less than a week.. Anime was my life freshman year.

The longest break I've taken was 4 years, that's when I got invested in gaming. Now I'm slowly getting back into anime and watch roughly 2-4 episodes a day. Not a lot of anime has really caught my attention since I'm a huge fan of the classics.

Very often actually.

College and life ocuppy much of my life. Last year, for instance, I didn't watch any anime from february to july, and then from october to december. I like to watch as much as I can in vacations, still doing other things I can while class is out. I also don't watch anime when I'm not feeling well.

Back then, there was never a day when I don't watch anime. But after years of watching, I suddenly lost interest in watching. I didn't watch anime for about a year...and read manga instead. So since then, there was never a day when I don't read manga and I got too addicted to the point that I don't even want to sleep anymore.

I haven't willingly taken a break from anime since I started watching it every day. The only time I''ve not watched it was because I went on holiday with a group of friends, and even then, I found myself wishing that I could stream it on my phone at night.

Depends on how busy I am with work (and until a couple of years ago, studies), really.

How often do you take breaks from watching anime?
I tend to watch in spurts of a few months, followed by a break, which can last anywhere between a week to several months.

What is the longest amount of time you've gone without watching one?
I got bored of anime a few years ago and stopped watching them for almost a year. When the live-action shows I'd taken to started looking like a worse option, I began watching anime again, but I take a longer time to decide on whether I'll start a particular show now than I did before (the same goes for live-action shows now as well).

Have you ever took a break in the middle of a series?
Said extended break was after I'd watched about fifty episodes of InuYasha so, yes. I'm not saying that InuYasha was that bad... I'd just been marathoning so many anime, one after another, that I'd been pretty much saturated with the medium as a whole.

I'm into some kind of a burn out as of late. I still watch at least 2 or 3 episodes a day but I'm not really "into" it so to say as I was couple of weeks ago.

How often do you take breaks from watching anime?
For the past year I watched at least an episode a day so I had and have days where I will watch little but no day without at least an episode.

What is the longest amount of time you've gone without watching one?
For 3 years I didn't watch any anime IIRC.

Have you ever took a break in the middle of a series?
Only if it's a long running show I may take a break from it and watch something else and come back to it after finishing it.

As for the longest time I've gone without watching anime...perhaps a month due to being overseas and have to interact with family.

I don't usually take a break in the middle of a series, as I tend to binge watch through series. But I have with a couple series.

probably 1 month, prep for exams.

Have you ever took a break in the middle of a series?
Yes, Gintama, for one, Didn't want to finish season 4 cause I knew I had no more Gintama to watch if I did, Finished it eventually, was lucky that season 5 would begin in 6 months time.

This only tends to happen for Comedy anime, rarely for anything else.

1- Depends really, if I don't have anything else really important to do (work, etc..), I'll stick to it, especially in holidays :P watching anime all day long for a whole week. However, if I end up more than one time in a row on some random crap anime (except if it's so crappy that it makes me laugh u__u #RailWars ) I kinda quit for sometime and turn back on videogames.

2- Once upon a time, biguest didn't know about about anime really... And someday he discovered 'em ! Since then, he recalls this period of time between his birth and the moment he started anime as the EMPTYNESS OF A NORMAL DUDE'S LIFE.

3- Hell yeah, Steins;Gate was sooOOOOOooooo boring (I mean, nothing happens, plot is well made but waaaaay too long setup) I had to quit on 18th episode (though I tried to keep it up really, and went this far... I actually tried it two times, first I stopped on the end of first episode). Well whatever, this is personnal taste, I think it's a bit sad that such a good plot was made boring for me.
Coming back on the subject, other animes for which I had to take a break was of course those which are/were airing; here you gotta take a week break before seeing the following episode... Kinda sad forced break :'(

Sorry for such a long reply ^^

I wouldn't call it a break but sometimes I get into a slump and find nothing of interest to watch and I do become very busy... But I always find time to watch an anime even if it's something old I'm re-watching or just a scene of an episode on YouTube. ^^

No I've mainly kept my watching category filled (with around 34 anime). And I mostly always watch the airing anime I'm following either the day of or the day after. I thought my anime watching was going to decrease once I went off into college but, to be honest I think it's given me more time to watch anime lol. Throughout my career of watching anime (a year and a half) I don't think I've slowed down my watching progress. In fact, I think it's increased ever since I started.

1.
It's really spontaneous for me, but rarely. Sometimes I'll binge watch 5-10 series. And other times i just find myself uninterested or tired out and take a break from watching it for a few weeks.
2.
Longest break I ever took was about 2 to 3 months over last summer. I always find myself drawn back and start it up eventually though :)
3.
I try not to take breaks in the middle of series because either I start it back up and have forgotten most of the plot, or I lose interest and feel like just stopping the series all together. I find it kind of annoying.

I have never really had a burnout. Nor do I take very long breaks. Normally I watch 2-3 episodes per day and maybe 6 episodes on weekends. Although sometimes, when I stumble across a somewhat boring show(but not bad enough to drop) I will drag through it with 2-3 eps per week. Thats my "slow" phase I guess. The longest break for me has probavly been a week.

Yeah of course. I would say I'm currently on a break. I'm watching something right now, but before that I couldn't get into anything for over two weeks. I would always get bored, doesn't help when every show this season doesn't interest me. NHK has been good for me the past 2 days, and JoJos next season is hype.
Brace yourself.
