| Kuuchuu Buranko designs most of its characters based on real people, and doesn't deviate much from it. It's a great anime, as well. The "creepy as hell" anime is Paprika, and it has pretty realistic looking characters as well. |

| I've gotten so used to anime characters being Japanese with their large eyes and small noses that I think the characters who are supposed to be white still look Japanese. In my opinion Chitanda Eru and Akiyama Mio look fairly Japanese. |

Aikaflip, I enjoy your posts and respect your opinions on artwork, I'd be interested to get your take on something; how do you feel about Hisashi Eguchi? I'm glad you're bringing this up. About a minute after I made my post, I thought, "Why didn't I mention Perfect Blue instead?!" That's a much better example. Regarding Hisashi Eguchi, I like his style. He tends to add a slight roundness to his character's faces that makes them look more like common people than models. With that said, there's nothing wrong with having a slim or model face, and there's plenty of room for both styles. |
