| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- It ends. Colette remembering she has chakrams! So the synopsis is basically... Yggdrasil tries to brainwash Raine, transforms into Mithos and takes his shirt off, the gang fight him in the top room of the Tower of Salvation. Sheena summons Celsius, Colette casts angel spells, Genis cries and stuff. Lloyd stabs Mithos, Mithos disintegrates and Origin appears, gives Lloyd the Eternal Sword, Lloyd merges the worlds. Everyone magically warps down to Aselia via a conveniently placed video game warp, meet Tabatha (who I'm hoping explains her absence and who she is in OVA land), Colette is like "name the tree lol", Lloyd names the tree, then goes and fights Kratos. The two have a cuddle. And then Regal and Presea become best buddies, Zelos speaks to Seles, Sheena hallucinates, Lloyd...punches Colette in the face, Yuan comes out, the end. I never had high hopes for this episode to begin with. With all the loose ends, I knew it would be a big mess. I learned this lesson after DotNW, really. When it comes to Symphonia-verse spin-off material, I need to keep my expectations low or I'll face disappointment. It was a fun ride nonetheless! Good bye ToS OVAs! Your beautiful animation will be missed, now hopefully we can get a new OVA series, Legendia? :D |

Male Miko's sister is cute. Nice memory of the whole ToS series. | Got around to it and I cried when Kratos patted Lloyd on the head his eyes showed love and and and when Llyod called Kratos Dad and hugged him. OMG my feels what are you doing to me. T_T 8/10 for the final OVA series I was going to give it a 7, but after this scene 8 its a fucking 8 now. TTTTT_______TTTTTT |

Well is IS the discussion thread for episode 3 so what do you expect? I loved this episode although it wasn't as good as the 2nd. And I really cried in the end because it's over now. T.T |

| SD hardsub is finally out through conventional means. It's finally over. After 4 (letter word)ing years! I've never had this kind of viewing experience and that really was the main event. It felt like bog-standard RPG material which I do not mind at all. Symphonia was rushed but the time usage was really efficient and I still managed to relate to the characters and get the story. United World on the other hand felt rather disjoined and too much cut and pasting at the end IMO. Works in a RPG but as an anime, maybe not. |

| So, it's finally over. ;_; United World was alright, not perfect, but good enough. I was a bit touched at that Kratos-hugging-Lloyd scene that they decided to throw in there, but my tears came from the realization that I have actually invested 4-5 years of my life into this thing. Dammit. Still nice though, I'm probably going to watch all the episodes again on a rainy day. |

| It's over, after airing since 2007! I remember the first I started to watch the show, since I was a big fan of the game and I just had to watch the OVA of it. And honestly, this anime adaption of the game wasn't bad at all, but not very good either. I'd say have played the game would be a must if you want to totally understand this show, if not. You'll have many questions. Mostly because the show was really fast paced and skipped ALOT of content from the game which was like 50+ hours. For me it was really enjoyable. Kratos is still my one of the characters I just love since I played the game and the hugging scene with Lloyd was just... ;_; Great to be finished to one of the best "Tales of" games out there, and I hope Xillia will be animated, and hopefully released AFTER the English version of the game has been released to. Oh Japan. |

| Nicely done. My eyes got a little watery quite a few times this episode. Especially the scene where Kratos and Lloyd reconciled. I'm glad that Zelos and Sheena also joined Lloyd and Collete on their journey at the end. And it was nice to see that Mithos was happy at the end. Everything was pretty much wrapped up nicely. |

| So can anyone tell me, what name did Lloyd gave to The Tree? It was such an understatement, he was like: "I will call it..." and then they skipped to the next scene. I was guessing that it may be the name of someone important, like Mithos or Martel or someone else. Anyway I expected surprise, nevertheless I became unsatisfied. Any ideas or extra pieces of information? |

| Huh? It's over just like that? Where's my claymation?? Anyway, did anyone else feel like every "season" was worse than the previous one? Sylvarant was fun, Tethe'alla was okay and Sekai Tougou was pretty boring & predictable... Still okay as a whole, though. |
| Well this episode was i think personally the best of the 3, we had a great dish of action everyone using their mystic arts including Collete's amazing Grand Cross :P It did not move at an extremely fast pace like the last few episodes did, i guess that was to be expected with what little animation they had left to adapt given the fact that the final battle was about to begin at the end of episode 2. Still they cut out the entire segment of them going Deris Kharlan, all of these events were supposed to happen up their, not in the tower of salvation. They also were supposed to summon origin before the fight with mithos. The studio just tried to rush every plot thread together like that in these 3 episodes. It seems this episode they really focused more on the ending giving it more closure then even the game did so i did appreciate that. One thing that i noticed was altered and completely changed was Kratos battle against Loyd was supposed to happen before all of the events with mithos but oh well. Generally speaking when Martel's spirit came and Loyd used the eternal sword to merge the worlds together that was the ending scenes, also they left out a VERY important line of dialogue and i really do not not know why, but that was the name of the life tree. For those of you that have not played the game, he actually names it Symphonia. I can't believe they left that out lol, thats like the whole point of the title of the series. I did like the comedy aspect between sheena and zelos, i chucked here and their. But truth be told its nearly impossible to adapt an 80 hr game into just 3 ova's, its just not going to happen. If this has been kind of like the tales of abyss adaptation it probably would be alot better and make alot more sense. Uhh anyways i am glad i finally finished this, thus the "Down of the new world" begins. It really makes me want to go play the games now, especially the new HD chronicles version that is coming to the ps3 :D |

| Well that was a great OVA final arc of this, and the ending was satisfying imo. The final battle scene between Mithos and the party were amazing, and decided to end his faith. Dat tree though but I wonder what Lloyd named it... Well now all the characters have their own trip of making things right for themselves at the end and the reveal of Lloyd where he fight Kratos, his own father. Everyone had a happy ending. It was a great special by Ufotable, those animation battle scenes, the setting and and art, characters were likable, amazing OST and the balance of comedy and drama . Though several episodes were rushed, and the materials were cut off drastically to fit in the specials since most Tales game I played were about 45-50 hours long and the OVA's were like 5-6 hours long... Overall the series gives me an 8/10 |
| Oh man, this 38 minute OVA must've taken me over an hour to finish. I just couldn't let it go. Although the final battle with Mithos and result was average, the emotions and dialogue kept it good. They never went to Derris Kharlan, Origin and Mana appeared in the tower itself and Lloyd never grew wings. Still I let it all slide, since I was still enjoying it. Now... the aftermath/ending is a whole different ball game. I liked these changes even more than the actual scenes from the game. I can't express the amount of love that I felt from everything starting from the naming of the tree, all the way to the black screen at the end. Where do I start... - Kratos and Lloyd... The battle... and the hug/farewell. - Persea releasing Regal's shackles...! - Sheena's scene was alright. - Zelos and Seles's reunion... he finally went to free his little sis... "Yo". - Lloyd, Colette, Genis and Raine's scene sitting up on the hills beyond Iselia was just so meaningful. Especially the words that were shared. That's almost up there for me with a scene from FMAB's final episode. - Yuan looking fresh reading a book under a tree, still working hard with his organization. - Dirk and Kratos's talk about Lloyd - Lloyd and Dirk's father/son moment in front of his mom's grave, how can you not love Dirk? - Colette trying to surprise Lloyd, but only to get owned by him, then a nice romantic moment between the two. - Now this... my favourite part of the whole ending probably... Zelos and Sheena give Lloyd the scare of his life, and the four are going to journey together! The pairings... the fun... the liveliness. It's all going to be there :) - Now this part deserves a seperate recognition. Mithos in an unknown time and place... finally gets to meet his sister, and rest easy. Though this was the most out of place, I feel like it fit the tone of the anime ending. It was strong. - The short recap of the journey during the credits just over-killed it for me. 5/5 for the ending. I'll use it in cooperation with the game even. A fair 8/10 for these final OVAs. I acknowledge the limitations they had. I love Tales of Symphonia so much. How many years have past? How many times have I/we played it? Who knows...! |

| this episode i didn't like as much as the 2 other episodes and i don't know why. bad that they left out that Loyd is a angel as well (seen in game). but good that they show what happened after it cause that is basically what they didn't show in the 1st game. for a anime based on a game i think they did a pretty good job here. the subs could have been better for this show i noticed some mistakes like they translated some parts to friend while they said everyone. then again i can't complain i am happy someone subbed it. i wonder if there will be a new season they should make it cause the second game is maybe not as good as 1st one but it sure has a interesting story in addition to this story cause the real stuff actually happen because of the worlds becoming one so i wonder if they will create it but only time will tell. |

| Kinda disappointed with the ending, I kinda wanted Mithos to win o.o Honestly feels like they left out a lot? Maybe its just me. One thing about this series is that I don't like Lloyd much, he sprouts nonsense and naive ideals, very much reminds me of Naruto :X The ending could've been better imo, not sure how but I didn't really feel it. I enjoyed the first season best, it felt very RPG-ish and had a nice vibe to it. And they could've done better with the character development as well, but yeah this a RPG squeezed into an 11 episode OVA series, understandable. 7/10 for the whole series. |

XD megane yuan! XD kratos feeling like a horrible father. :( dirk is still lloyd's father. :) and the return of the dwarven vows! XD journeying again with friends. <3 all in all, i'm experiencing all of the feels with this show! i just wish it stuck to the game a little closer... |
| Nice ending, mostly boring though. That blue haired dude finally got his chains taken off. Took him long enough. Wish they had a conclusive romance ending. Torn about whether I should play the game. |

| I still dont see why they dont reveal the trees name. I thought this was already confirmed to be phantasias prequel? We know the trees name should be yggdrasil so why do they skip over it? |
| So tis ended....saw the omakes too, then saw the ending for the sequel game Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World juuust to see what happend to the characters two years later.....SOo need another anime of Symphonia to tie this all up together lol. 7.5/10 HIGH PRAISE!!!!! And ninja girls with boobs in any genre rock! KAMPAI! |
| I almost enjoyed the ending, until I saw Yggdrasill relaxing in heaven with his sister. Kind of ironic that a twisted invidiaul like him gets what he wants, but Pronyma undying loyalty costed her life and what does she get? She still dead. lol |

| Overall, entertaining little OVA. Ive never played the game (yet), just watched because of ufotable, I really like their style of animation, couple that with a dual sword weilder and you get great fight scenes. |
