| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- I'm glad there's someone who went to that world and knows the truth about it (wait, people can go there freely as he went there few times not just once?) So "side effect" is kind of like "Chounouryoku" and he can see the future. He has such charisma that everyone listens to him and gets done. Oh, neighbor gets attracted by the girl, who KajiKaji's character wants to protect, not sensing neighbor early (or it's another one of her "Chounouryoku"?, even though it is also shown). lol @ during that chibi explanation time. Oh, no, that's quick! |

| Jin's Side Effect of (near) future vision is pretty cool. Firstly, he saved Osamu from an imminent assault and then took him along to figure out the cause of abnormal gates from a certain someone. Neat use of his ability. So, he has been to the other world and knows about good Neighbors too? Nice! Lol'd at how he just met Kuga and already started petting him. They both make that same face often times. :3 Seemed like Jin probably heard his first name before though.. Rad extermination party was pretty quick to wrap things up. Look at Kitora taking credits in front of camera again. (^^) Kuga's biking fails were hilarious! How can he be so awesome with his Trigger and not know how to ride a bike? XD Loved how he saved Chika. But why did she run to the danger herself? Come on. She's smarter than this. Osamu taking down that huge Trion Soldier himself was awesome, though he had some difficulties. Well, that's to be expected. Pretty sure he'll become a badass like Kuga too. Looks like Chika attracts Neighbors (not Trion Soldiers?) just like Ginko attracts Mushi. Interesting.. Good episode. Osamu just revealed two of his different Side Effects in the Fun Facts section. Leg jerking to wake him up from sleeping in class and leaving no kernels after drinking a corn soup. Well, maybe not the second one. XD |

| Haven't watched the episode yet but either it was good enough or so bad that a lot of japanese have to talk about it: http://i60.tinypic.com/kahd7q.jpg At least that hasn't happened the past episodes. Again, I haven't watched the episode yet, but a couple things should be said I think: "Side-effects" are not "superpowers", they are a "side-effect" of the quality or amount of trion a person got. So very few people have ANY side-effect at all. Side-effects are ranked from C to B to A and to S. Jin has a S-class side-effect as his is even by scientific means hard to explain. C for example is just enhanced five senses, we will see somebody having that (and how you can make a C-side-effect very useful for a team) later in the story. Chika did not "run into danger", she "hide from danger without endangering others". We will hear about that more lately, but Chika is somebody that everybody in the neighborhood would looooove to eat/kidnap/kill her for her trion/etc. Thus if Chika were to hide among normal people said normal people would get attacked when the trion soldiers search for her. That's also the reason why Chika tried to "run away" from the school shelter as she feared the two trion soldiers would follow her and endager the other students there. Also Chika can control her trion presence by meditation aka making it so small that a Trion soldier cannot notice her if he searches for trion presence. The whole Rad extermination thing was to show the discipline and efficient machine that is Border when it decides to take action (once it knows what kind of action, that is). Other neighbor states would love to have such a well-trained and disciplined army. Man, I wanna watch it now... |

| Osamu's asteroid was so cute compared to "border's no.1 shooter which is not even included in the op because that person's so awesome lol". Next episode should be chaotic. Chika will be in danger. |

| Was surprised that the OP came in the middle of the episode XD Thought there would be no OP that I like so much this week. Yuuma riding that bike was funny. Chika and Yuuma's meeting was nice too, they got along well before even knowing that Osamu wanted to introduce them to each other. I also really like Chika's VA, she hasn't been in many anime it seems, but I remember really liking her debut in Aiura. Osamu has gotten better skills since he is now B-rank! So happy for him, even though he did feel like he didn't deserve taking Yuuma's credit. Seriously love Osamu since he's so genuine. A lot of times if people reject using other's credit, they do it because of pride. |
| I liked the episode, more facts were shown and new characters appeared Yuuma without ability some to ride bikes, I laughed at that part The animation is kinda childish at times, but did not that this spoil the anime .. |

| I believe that promotion to B-Rank also means Osamu gets a better (more combat capable) trigger as well as a shiny new uniform. Not great animation in this show, but at least it is better than Majin Bone (another Toei effort). The characters still all seem kind of flat though--that may be understandable for Yuuma as the alien, but the human characters need some more development. |

| Finally seen the episode myself. Nice that they started with the disapperance of Chika's only friend who had belived her that she had seen "strange things" in the forest, park and streets. Gave a good reason as to why Chika left Kuga's side when he mentioned "not to worry". She was afraid he would get hurt if she stayed near him and the trion soldiers are drawn to her. Good that they solved the whole Rad problem the same way as in the manga, fast and straight-forward. Jin is clearly a elite of the elites as he can tell even the higher-ups what to do once he got ordered to take care of a task, in this case the abnormal warpgates. Also liked that they have shown teh Arashiyama team with Jun, Kitora and Mitsuru exterminating the "last Rad" for TV. Shows how much Border tries to keep a good publicity, sadly we haven't seen that much interaction of Team Arashiyama with the public in the manga. For goods reasons though as WT still isn't in the clear to be a long running manga over 200+ chapters. Osamu refusing the credit to get promoted to B-rank not for his pride but due not not having done much made him in my eyes pretty smypathic. Especially when he accpeted the credit despite his worries after what Jin had told him. I liked that Osamu basically swallowed his sense of pride and took the promotion as he can't protect somebody important to him with no real weapons. As B-agent he gets a real combat body and a real weapon trigger made durable for fights. Much better than still being a C-rank and waiting for your promotion.^^ That bike scene. XD Chika got a cute voice. What animes had her VA been in so far? Osamu battling and defeating a Banter was good to see. Shows that having right equipment can level up somebody as well. In his old C-rank training body and training trigger he would have hardly been able to scratch that Tron soldier. Given the preview I hope they have put enough budget into it to not make the fight boring. Yuuma vs Miwa squad might have been a short battle, but it was the first battle where a BT fought normal triggers as well as where an humanoid neighbor fought a squad of Border agents. So hopefully the next episode will have a fluid battle. Said that, I already await the jokes next week once anime only viewers see the difference between Osamu's trion and Chika's.^^; |

Relax, the anime has shown that Trion soldiers react differently to people with high trion as seen with Chika and the marmods. it makes sense that people with high trion develop something to protect themselves. It's called evolution. People with normal trion due the "herd" thing, just scream and run and hope you are not the one getting killed/eaten. That's how a lot of other animals survived as well. XD And like Kizla said, that side-effect is a part of their body since birth, it just developed due their trion organ developing as well. As a kid Jin might not have been able to use his side-effect yet or only a bit but as a teen who was training his trion his ability developed as well and became what it is now. |

Interesting sidenote about the opening playing almost over halfway through instead for the BDs it instead plays at the start as it usually does. |

| I'm falling in love with Jin, he's amazing. That was some nice clean-up, lol. Lmao Kuga, that bike scene is too funny, he always makes me laugh. Though one thing that confused me is what happened to Osamu. What are those special attacks that I don't remember seeing and also how did he beat the neighbor weapon, he shouldn't get stronger just because he's now a B-rank. |
