In that aspect the anime for TG did its job well. Yea, it's not strange. But from where the manga is it doesn't seem like the end is near, so we might get a sequel or this may be another cage of eden ending. Still like the series but if this is really the ending then I'm disappointed. Honestly all these comments about how it will have a lot of unresolved plot points are worrying. |

Better start reading manga after anime is finished. But still it is unexpected and seems a bit early... :( I hope it gets sequel :(((( |

Botato said: Honestly all these comments about how it will have a lot of unresolved plot points are worrying. I don't see how it can end even half-decently in one chapter. There're many plotlines, many of them are far from being resolved and almost none of them can be resolved in the location, where everybody is. Even if this chapter will take the whole magazine, a satisfactory ending doesn't seem likely. |

What I take from this news is that everyone's dead. Kaneki ate Hide, Arima killed Kaneki and now Kaneki is a quinque, all the Anteiku ghouls are killed, Amon is killed, Shinohara's dead... Suzuya could probably get a prosthetic... With the major mains dead/out of action there's no manga left. So the manga ends. It makes sense. Maybe there'll be a sequel following a new main character's perspective. Mod Edit: Added spoiler tags; please hide plot details. |

Its not the first time either - a manhwa, Immortal Regis pulled this with same modus operandi - huge cliffhangers, very bad situation for main characters, lots of questions unanswered and...suddenly the manhwa is anounced to be ending. The readers were shocked, justifiably so. Then the author announces a sequel, "Cavalier of Abyss", with a lot of new characters in the cast and a huge timeskip and huge plot twists. And the story continues, as the unresolved cliffhangers from Immortal Regis become the new key mysteries for the sequel. I bet Tokyo Ghoul will pull off the same thing. |

The transition from Immortal Regis to Cavalier Of the Abyss was one of the BEST plot twists of all time for me. Incidentally both Tokyo Ghoul and Regis storylines deal with the undead/ghouls/etc, albeit Regis is way less grounded in real world. |

Apparently basic common sense functions like "putting two and two together" or "reading the context" are something MAL community does not have. 20 chapters in I still saw people asking "who is Nex??!?!? Is this a prequel?" I expect whatever sequel tokyo ghoul gets to have same problems. But I will always admire it for having the balls to take something that sounded like "generic shonen storyline" and cruelly subvert it. Lmao. Really? An end right there? The story has barely even bloody started. Still the Rize stuff, the doctor guy, all the other one-eyed ghouls, etc and it wants it to end it there? My god. this kind of makes sense. I doubt that the anime ending just as the manga ending is a coincidence. its likely that the anime was there to get people into tokyo ghoul just before it entered its second part so it could get more readers. Hopefully the people in charge of the manga and the magazine saw that it had good potential and wanted to increase the weekly readership of the magazine once the manga enters its second phase. |

Oh no, no, no, no ,no ,no ,no ,no ,no...no...no. Damn. I'm definitely going to treasure every page of the last Chapter like my life depends on it now. This ending was totally unprecedented in my accounts. It was already depressing enough that he killed off Kaneki, now this. Why does life have to throw dodge balls in my face? Well, hopefully, he'll make a sequel with new and intriguing characters like this one. And solve all the remaining plot-holes as well. ... ...
