It's expensive because it's a lethal joke weapon. If you can use it correctly it's very powerful, but using it correctly is EXTREMELY difficult to do.
In any game if a gun or weapon wasn't being used, they would make it either easier to use or easier to obtain. The sword is merely there as a plot device...

Just stop, dude. Now you are just making things up and presenting them as facts.

I didn't know, but as expected from Kawahara Sensei. He does take his fans and detractors far more seriously then they probably deserve.

The first four episodes of Season 2 have been leagues better than the first four episodes of Season 1. I'm wary too of what the end result would be, but Sword Art Online II to this point has been good.

A-1 chose the path of just trying to make a badass anime with fanservice and not care for anything else. Reason why I did not enjoy the adaption of season 1 since they never even cared to explain the mechanics of the game and even skipped so many relevant scenes. (Such as Kirito's first day trapped in SAO when he had to solo on the first floor and almost get killed.) SAO II luckily at least explains some mechanics, but unfortunately it stands on the foundation that Kirito of season 1 is unreasonably OP when in actuality he isn't.

Didn't know about that. Are they translated anywhere (is it a crunchyroll thing?)

This may look like shameless advertising but there is another thread that hosts translations to his commentaries.

Actually it was up until the episode after Sachi died(or the episode after that) that SAO had promise as it focused on the effect of death on Kirito and the other players, but then it went WAY WAY down hill. I can already feel the downhill trend starting for SAO 2 aswell, fortunately this time I won't bother to waste more of my time watching a good anime slowly crumble to the bottom

I like what's happening in this forum: fans getting overhyped on what should only be a piece of good entertainment, and haters never providing enough of a good reason why the series is shit when their "good arguments" are getting debunked easily by people who are "reading between the lines" of the show. And then, no matter how much I argue about what are the flaws and explanations why the episode is like that, I'm not getting heard. So I'll go back to what am I just doing in this forum:

But for me, the episode is pretty solid, and a very good adaptation of the original source. Though I have noticed some things pretty much unexplained in the show that had explained fully in the LN, it's pretty good entertainment with nothing to praise on and nothing to shit on, except with the misspellings. 7/10.

Not really. In the case of Sinon's bullet in EP2, that could have been done in real life due to the distance.

I don't think (?) there is another instance where someone sees a bullet coming at them and dodges in an unrealistic amount of time, so it wasn't really "clear" how different GGO and real life were

A bit different, the bullets, unlike reality, leave a tracer (in the form of a color) that can be followed back to the source. This was similar to SAO where the weapons left a trace element (i.e. a sword swing also left a tracer behind it). Kirito picked up on this and immediately understood the implications of it due to his experience.

It is one thing to intellectually understand something, it is something totally different to instinctively understand something (by the way this is a very Zen thing, my namesake wrote a book on this fact called "The Unfettered Mind", highly recommend it). Shion, if she thought about it, probably could figure out how to beat the game, however Kirito doesn't have to "think" about it, because of his two years of having to risk his life on getting these things, he just "gets" it. That is the difference.

Well but what has been done can't be changed anymore (well I guess an animation for SAO:Progressive if ever happening would like to have a word with me...) so I hope they do their best to better their mistakes.

Also at some point you just have to stop at explaining things or it gets really dragged out.
While reading in a book infodumps are normally no big deal for me but if you would animate everything as pointed out in the novel, we wouldn't even be past the halfway point in EP3 right now.

No, you're given 1000 credits to buy your own. if I had a guess I'd say either to stop you from creating hell of accounts to get weapons to sell, or so that way you don't go wandering into a field after turning on the game when you haven't learned the mechanics yet.

No, new players initially receive 1000 credits and with that money, equipment tailored to your playing style can be bought.

I actually enjoyed how Log Horizon was adapted. It was extremely slow at first since the players had to create a foundation for a new society, but after that the monologues came naturally simultaneously with action. In truth, I would have preferred SAO that way but alas that won't happen nor is it a popular opinion.

It won't unfortunately, we haven't heard any significant monologues from Kirito ever. More like it's going towards the path of Mahouka where characters stop what they're doing to provide commentary.

@neonie ^Double action, a system in firearms where the trigger both cocks and releases the hammer.

I assume it means when he hits the button it automatically activates the "lightsaber".

As for why it uses ammo like 45.ACP and 7.65x21mm I have no clue.

Ahh ok. Is that ammo all revolver ammo by the way? That would explain the double action then and at least there would be a sort of theme there. (Or all pistol).

Ah alright cool. So I guess the energy sword in GGO is considered a type of revolver. That's kind of interesting. Though revolvers are powerful, so I guess the best way to describe it as they are "burst" weapons. Both rely on power and accuracy.

That's the episode I've been waiting for since the start, and I was not disappointed.

I like how he didn't get to customize his avatar and ended up as a girl. His reaction to realizing it, the relief after confirming that at least "she" was flat and his mental struggle before deciding to act as a girl in front of Sinon, it was pretty funny.

And I fucking knew people here were going to hate on his pro skillz in the bullet dodge thing. Well, it's a game, it gives some pretty good assist to dodge, that bullet line, and the player here had good reflexes and speed, due to his (vast)gaming experience. Nothing wrong if you ask me.

PS. Huh, just now I realized. his avatar is not actually a girl, but looks a lot like one, right? Damn, that's a trap for ya.

Kirito has a bike in RL and the controls are baisicly the same so he can drive it. Reason nobody else can is that regular bikes running on gasoline are very rare and probably banned in couple years, most people use electric scooters and driving that is completly diffent from motorcycle.

He watches enemy eyes, before taking a shot/casting spell/shooting arrow/etc. people tend to look in the direction of their attack, NPCs and mobs in Seed VRMMOs mimic that quite well.

Inugirlz said:

Most people consider them useless as a result of horrible range compared to firearms and they ended up as collector items that are almost never used in battle.
Cardinal system which is a part of any Seed VRMMO adjust prices and drop rates based on many variables, including popularity.
But honestly, they are so freakin OP... you'll see in couple episodes.
