| Looks pretty good so far for the second season. I wonder how the transfer student will play out. Speaking of the ED though... definitely many times better than the last. I abhorred that whole desert sequence so the animation in this one was really nice. Also, the cute scene with the young mains was adorable too! There was a toy firetruck... a small beaker... totally related to the whole jobs aspect. Though I really feel like these guys are hopeless in terms of their futures... Rin has a point, you know. |

However, if a hated character brings about something more: perhaps they provide a big contrast to the other characters, perhaps they bring out a particular message, perhaps they promote sympathy for the main characters, then this is not bad at all. Basically, if the hated character heightens the overall experience for a viewer, then enjoyment can indirectly stem from them. A good example for this would be Shou Tucker from the original FMA series (not Brotherhood). In the beginning, he served a very good purpose and also did a very good job at enraging the audience. People hated him, but what he brought to the show was valuable and it made his character worthwhile. But as the show progressed, he lost his value, simply serving as more of an annoyance than anything and became nothing but hated. This greatly decreased the quality of the show and was a bad move on the creator’s part. |

| I just love reading the discussions here and on other sites where the bloggers speculate about the characters' "hidden intentions" and whatnot - it is both hilarious and insightful. Still, the series is not without its strong points, i.e. the animation and the subtle nuances in the interactions of the characters when the creators decide to go beyond what is expected of them. In general, KyoAni often has the power to affect the viewer on a personal level, but scarsely adopt the means to do so. Back to the issue with the missing member - the new boy should bring some fresh dynamics to the quintet, and possibly add some (weak and poorly done, to my mind) drama connected with the past to the story. |

| It's back ... I was laughing and giggling and fangirling over this episode so much (and I was on Skype too D:) that my friends were like "wtf are you doing" >_< Pretty good OP and ED, but I like the OP better. Same old beginning just like last season ... except instead of continuing from the beginning of S1 looks like we're in the next year already. That sure was fast! :O Seems like we'll have a new chara join Rin ... from Australia maybe? Though I thought their captain said he'd be a first-year not a transfer student? Ah well, it'll be interesting to see where this goes! I'm gonna miss the captain actually ... (though I can't even seem to recall his name D:) Omg that recruitment thing LOL XD Of course Gou would think of something like that :P Then some more swimming and Rin and Haru TIED! That's pretty rare in swimming isn't it? I mean they get the times so accurately. Ah well, still good to see. They raced at Rin's club's tryouts too. Speaking of which, he's the new captain! Actually seems to be pretty good at it too :P The cherry blossom pool was really pretty :O Then it started raining ... hmm, and also gotta think about what to do after graduation. I guess most of them are in third year after all! |

So far, I liked how they tried to make the first few minutes of this episode similar to last season's first episode (with the appropriate time changes): Makoto greets the old lady, plays with the grown-up kitten, and goes to Haru's house. And Rin beacame Samzuka's new captain awww... I hope he passes the torch to Nitori when he graduates :) I'm looking forward to seeing Sosuke/Sousuke interact with the other characters. Oh, and more character development for everyone. |

| Aw yeah! Free! is back! (^_^) I have to get used to the new OP 'cause I'm still not over the last one. Dat ED tho. I like how this episode starts by resembling how season one's first episode started. Haru, Makoto, Nagisa, Rei, and Rin are back! Being all friends and happy. I really like the cherry blossom pool part. It gave me feels! Gou is also back with her fangirling and charm points, lol. Aw, too bad Captain Mikoshiba has to go away. He's pretty cool. But this new guy, Sousuke Yamazaki, seems interesting. |

| Nice restart of the swmming summer with Free! The recruitment presentation was absurdly hilarious the reaction of the audience reflected it all Lot's of swimming and it was great along with the return of the swimming facility by the coach I hope they can fix a better end than last year |

I like their friendly competition. And that pool with the sakura flowers was simply beautiful. Screw the rain, I would swim in that. And yeah. Haru!Merman... Enough said. | That fucking cop cosplay of Rin in the ED.. WTFFF O_O Haru is so boring, Makoto is not much better, I am also getting tired of Gou, everyone pretty much stayed the same as the first season. The only part I liked in the episode is the event that took place in Samezuka swim club. The only character I liked is Rin, he is the only character that doesn't really stick to an archetype and actually think of something. |

| I was so excited to watch that. I don't want to compare this to the first season, but the second season seems to look like a filler in comparison to the first one. I loved new ending. Especially that moment when they're children. It's too cute to be real.  This new guy looked so mature. Lots of fan service. Can someone tell me what was that club presentation? I was really confused, because it was too low. I know I should expect things like that in this kind of anime, but it was really way too low. |

| Yaaay, the boys are back~! Honestly, I don't have a good reason why I didn't start on the second season sooner, lol. Also rewatching the first with my bro. Aww, so happy to see Rin smiling again. >w< And getting along with Haru. Rin will be a fine captain. And hooray for Gorou restarting that swimming place! Y'know, before I got into Free! I watched part of the first ep of the SECOND season, dubbed. Man, that was confusing lol. Now I'm just gonna watch it subbed, maybe I'll see the dub when it's finished. owo; I'm quite familiar with Future Fish(the ED) already, but this was the first time I heard or saw the OP. Really cool, I like the clips used. .3. But I still think I like Rage On better song-wise. But YAAAAY for seeing more of these lovable guys! (and Gou lol) Darn that return of the speedo for Rei though. X'D Seemed like a lot of things that people who watched the first season would be familiar with happened again here. (Haru in bathtub, Mako finds him again, apron over swimsuit, and Rei being given a speedo by Samezuka.) I love how Rei said "I only swim butterfly" LOLL it's like he's taking after Haru. :'D Okay I'm done now. owo |

But I loved to see everyone back together. Rin doesn't fit to be a captain. He's morelike a lonely wolf. The opening song was very good, but the ending wasn't. |

| I missed Free! despite that I finished the first season some weeks ago. (^_^) The first episode of S2 started more or less as the first episode of S1 XD. I like to see the gang together again. Sousuke is hot. The ED is hilarious. |

| Gou being as lovely as always, I missed her. The way this episode resembled the first one from season 1 was really nice. Good first episode overall. The sakura pool scene looked absolutely beautiful, by the way. |

| Not a fan of the OP...the first season was so much better. Also, was not expecting those ending credits, yet here we are. Gou having them show their muscles to get members to join was pretty funny. |
