| So after finding myself coming back to anime to see what's new after a year, I realise the reason I stopped in the first place was that I really wasn't willing to trawl through a bunch of bad series' just to find a gem anymore. I've reached the threshold such that rather than being optimistic about watching a new series, I'm more hesitant and feel like I shouldn't waste my time. Throughout the three or so years I've been seriously watching anime I've just grown more and more cynical; some tropes are almost omnipotent. I am so over eye-rolling, immature fanservice yet - unless things have changed significantly in the last year - I can count on one hand the series' which don't have an inkling of it. I guess I just really want another Steins;gate or Madoka, where everyone agrees with the fact that it's a great series and I can just slip into and enjoy it without fear of constant frustration at the writing. Does, or has anyone else felt the same way? |

| There are a lot of promising sequels coming up. As for already aired anime, my plan to watch list is getting shorter and the titles aren't as exciting. You can always watch Breaking Bad though. |

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood for example. I watched the original and liked it well enough, but I realise the style isn't for me. This is the same for most anime. I guess when I said 'good' in the title, I meant suited to my taste. My list isn't huge because there aren't a whole heap of shows that cater to it. Sure there are plenty of 'good' anime I haven't watched, I just probably won't enjoy them as much because it's not suited to my taste. |

| I feel sorry for people who have certain tastes. I could care less about the genre I watch, so there's a lot out there for me. Still, I doubt that you've seen everything that you would like to watch. I don't know how specific your tastes are, but you should at least try to watch something just to see if you like it. If all else fails, you can always go read manga or play VNs. Manga might just have the appeal you need. |
