| Taiga Aisaka - the archetypal Tsundere Yuno Gasai - the epitome of Yandere Both of them has over 10k favorites here in MAL. I wonder where/why is the appeal of there characters? Why people here in MAL or in general anime fandom, fascinated with these two? Can anyone give me light into these? |

| Unlike most tsunderes, Taiga actually has character development. By the last episode, you'd hardly recognize her. Yuno is just the first yandere to really make an impact. It helps that there aren't too many other yanderes out there, and even less that can play their role as well as she does. |

| I've heard from one anime fan, that Yuno is the only well done yandere character in anime so far. Heven't seen many anime with this archetype, but maybe he's right (personally i absolutely hated her). Taiga is a character form one of the most popular romance/SoL series, so it's not that weird. Not a tsundere fan, but she was acting cute from time to time (unlike for example Kirino). |

She retained the usual self but it shown development and she didnt act as she was early in the series. She used to be violent , no feminine charm and stuff like that but by the end of the serie she've become so sweet that you'd wonder where that tsun side of her went. Yuno , I dont know about her . I guess she's liked because the MC was a wuss and if you dont like the male MC you'll end up liking the female one more. That or everyone of the Yuno fans have a fetish that involves being protected by a female to the point of giving her own life. Personally , I like Yuuki more . He's funny to watch and makes me wonder how would I act in those situations or situations with as much stress as his. And when you are locked in that circle of being punched in the face , literally or not , constantly , you need someone to support you and man you up . But Yuno didnt want someone to protect her , she wanted a puppet to keep her from going full retarded , and you NEVER go full retarded. Basically ,Yuno wanted some affection from someone , affection that Yuuki may not give her if she would have man him up and she wanted certainty. |

| Yuno is a yandere that's just pure fun to watch. Yanderes don't tend to be very common, but when they are around, they're boring; they do what exactly what the archetype says and that's to just love our protagonist. But Yuno has ulterior motives and our protagonist doesn't trust her at all. It also helps that she's a goddamned crazy bitch. An interesting character she is. |

| Taiga - has an explanation for her Tsundereness, develops into more of the dere, also one of the first "good" tsunderes i believe. Yuno - Has an explanation for her Yandereness, the mystery about her got more interesting as time went on and when you found out the truth, it was both shocking and epic, also one of the first "good" Yanderes and of course both of the characters A) go beyond their archetypes B) come from popular shows C) are the main female protagonists in their shows seriously, it should be obvious. |

| Because they are two of the best characters in each of their respected 'dere categories. There are a ton of tsundere characters, but most don't have great development outside of the standard/cliche tsundere development. Most of the time, tsundere characters are less enjoyable for me, but Taiga is an exception. I really like her as do many others it seems. Yuno was an excellent yandere, imo. There are far less of them around, so less to choose from. Most all yandere either have an insignificant/limited role, or are terrible characters. Yuno is a no brainer for best yandere, imo, so I'm not surprised at all by her number of favorites. Plus, both of those anime are really popular. Naturally, popular characters are going to come from popular anime. |

| Personally, in the -dere realm, I'm more so a fan of Kuudere. I have a love hate relationship with Tsundere. Taiga's just a charming one. Yuno is just Yuno to me. I like her, but until we get another "mainstream" and infamous figure head, that's who everyone will default to. |

| Don't Know about Taiga. Though I don't like Yuno it seems to me that they were trying too hard. Best and greatly written Yandere is Shion for me. |

| Yuno was the only reason you watched Mirai Nikki in the first place. Without her, there would have been no reason to watch that train wreck in the first place. And it's not like yanderes are all that common either. Meanwhile with Taiga, like someone else said before, she's not just a typical tsundere. She gets a believable development throughout the series and becomes a really likable character because of it, even if you aren't a fan of tsunderes. Taiga wins btw. |
