Loved the flashbacks, it seems they are going to do like this with every member of the elite four.

So Ryuuko must fight every member of the elite? Looks though.

I don't know if it's because I just finished TTGL, but I'm starting to see Kill la Kill in a new light, really enjoyed this episode. Satsuki just keeps getting better and better, she's probably my favorite character. Oh god, I couldn't stop laughing and cringing in equal measures when Gamagoori was going all masochist. That sudden death faceoff with the elite four looks like it's gonna be brutal.

I must say it's strange. This series is not my usual preferred genre. The drawing style is not the one I normally like. The story and the way things are portrayed is not what I usually would like.

And yet, for all of that, I find this series strangely appealing.

I don't know what it is. It has...something. Maybe it's the characterisation. And the music score. The way it is over-(re)acting the whole time, and yet gives an inkling of a message and art-full-ness through it (notice the stylistic red sky in this episode, for instance).

I especially like the speeches and attitude of Satsuki; they are overpowering, overwhelming, and charismatic. If such a female would exist in the real world, I would think it worth following her too. She has...purpose. A drive to the extreme; it's like a beacon (even if you don't like her message, it's still as bright as a beacon). The portrayal of her ego, her speeches, her mental superiority is fantastically portrayed in the anime. (look at the top, the highest point, untouchable, sun shining on her, etc.) And then the accompanying music with those scenes! Superbly done. It's splendidly given all focus and gives her charisma, and I don't think she's really portrayed as a villain, but rather something more subtle than that. I think she acts in ways we would often consider evil in our timeframe and civilisation, but I think she does it with some kind of ideal for the betterment of humanity in her thoughts.

Anyway, while many things are completely contrary to what I normally would like, some things are really captivating for me. And while the first impression is that it's a bit lil-kids-like (apart from the ecchi part to draw in the teenage populace), there are also some deeper issues being handled (the former episode how a system can corrupt good people is an example).

It has been one of the few positive surprises, this season.

edit: btw, does anyone know the name of that music that is used with her speeches?

Episode discounted in all but very few details, the only thing I like are the speeches.
The plot is still a mystery, the story is the same every time but at least now there's a moment of calm during the flashbacks, that ultimately make a positive contribution to the history and I must say that the episode has passed since his small contribution in the bond between the family and Ryuuko Mako in terms of interpersonal relationships.
Drawings not bad, such as animations. The sound that is truly worth it, never once on Daisuki has heard the sound of KLK well as it should, always muffled. D:

Gamagori no ecchi! XD

Also it is best that you start gicare more with the Playstation Gran Turismo! ASD

The fascism vs. anarchy attitude from Satsuki is really well-done.

This anime keeps getting better and better. Interesting how this has just blown everything else out of the water this season. There are some really interesting and good shows, but this one is awesome.

Of course, TTGL peaked at around this time too, so I hope this time the creator/director can keep the pace up.
Let's go bowling.

Heheh, of course we'd get all that conspiracy build-up, and then the episode has absolutely nothing to do with any of it. I'm glad Mako lived, because for me this show's true name is "The Escapades of Mako Mankanshoku".

My face when Gamagoori started saying "More!"

So in this episode we seem to learn that Gamagouri and even Satsuki are good people after all ?!?

And do those top 4 get to choose the style of their "extreme uniforms"? If so, then I guess there is some hidden desire for SM masochism for Gamagouri? LOL
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

Wild speculations have led me to the conclusion that life fibers are made from humans and senketsu is actually ryuuko's dad

The scissor extracts life fibers from enemies it cuts, and the way both of them have only one eye is too suspicious

I think Satsuki in general is almost at the conceptual level as a character. The whole way her character is depicted from the design to how shots involving her are framed and the voice acting basically scream overwhelming presence. She basically just became the poster child for the Tall Dark and Bishoujo trope.

Now, I almost forgot this, speaking of her past, damn that has so many flaws, or rather, BS. How come the scissor was still stuck with Ryuko's dad? Rofl they should take the scissor with them when they leave Ryuko's dad's body, but hey, if that happened then Ryuko won't have half the scissor now, and she won't find out about the revenge and all the shit, right? Still doesn't excuse that shit. How come Ryuko's dad pulled out that scissor, that would allow even more bleeding, making it easier for him.. to die, and he was supposed to be a scientist, a smart man, oh wait, this show need no logic.

Nevertheless, good episode for most of the part.

Except when they're killing people who disobey Satsuki. I think it's more that they aren't completely senseless cretins who kill without a reason... or even more that from Satsuki's point of view, she thinks herself so high above others that most people aren't worth soiling her hands over.

Although, I am starting to get the feeling that they might not end up being the primary antagonist.

About the scissor part, Ryuko owns half of the sword, so the used one half to kill the dad and the other they kept.. I'm guessing the kept that other half in the dad because Ryuko came in so they ran away not having time to take it out.. Taking a sword out of a human body or anything isn't as easy as most animes and shows depict it.. We saw his figure so we know he was recently in the building and near by and Ryuko's presence most likely made the figure run away. Also being a smart man he probably already known he was done for and was going to die, so really pulling out the sword or not wouldnt matter.
