By the way that new BGM is quite good. I wonder if it was composed by the person who composed "Scene shifts there" in Rewrite 'cause she is in the credits.

Ryō Mizutsuki.is composing new OST for this season, so it probably is her.

I liked the BGM, but... no 'The world were nothing happened' :( I was looking forward it D:

If I am not mistaken, this episode should have contained Kengo on a uniform, but oh well, great episode anyway. There were too many materials they need to cover for this episode so it was understandable. It felt weird seeing Komari having more screen time though.

Next episode will have the most awaited Cheap Tricks. Can't wait~
Just wondering how will JC cram the remaining materials in Rin's route in one episode. It would be an eventful episode for sure.

I don't think it's weird. It's really better if they showed more Komari and Rin scenes because of their friendship.

This episode was pretty rushed, but I can understand the reasons why, although it would have been fun if they showed Riki and Rin preparing for the final task especially with that comment that Masato gave to Sasami xD. Also, I found it kind of strange how they showed Suginami but Riki and Rin never told her that they were going out, it felt odd. Although I give props to JC Staff for the encounter with Kyousuke at the end, that new BGM fit the scene well, the animation was better, Kyousuke was intimidating, I liked it. Now they have a shitload of things to cover in the next episode, I hope they pace it out alright.

You would say all this was done for Rin's sake, but it's probably all about friendship

You might want to spoil that gut feeling you have, don't want other viewers to be influenced by that. Also, is it possible if you could mention what comment gave you that hint.

Maybe they showed her to show that she realized they were going out already instead of not showing her at all? :o

LOL I kind of funny when Rin trying to smile. Volunteering huh, pretty hard for Rin to follow through. Huh, Rin is moving because of a bus accident that they had, what decision will she make...

And all the questions were answered in the end, damn I love that tension between Kyousuke and Riki about his motivation.

Kyousuke is being handled pretty well.

I think it will be saved for the end of Rin 2.
If they use the OST once, it'll have more impact, and I thought the new OST was very fitting for the scene. It felt like more of a showdown than an ominous encounter, and JC Staff portrayed it well.

Yeah, I really want to hear 'A world where nothing happened' so badly, but I like the new ost too.

Anyways, this was one of my favorites episodes so far. I love the confrontation between Brosuke and Riki.

Komari didn't disappear. She stayed next to Kyousuke as the other girls disappear. Komari staying is actually integral to the plot.
There are instances where the other girls don't pick up their phones in the first season, and parts where they seem to vanish from the episodes, but Komari always sticks around.

And I won't answer your speculation, of course ;)

More like this is the case with almost every Visual Novel adaptation that has a true route. It pretty much has to be this way.

That scene with Kyousuke and Riki gave me the shivers. Riki still doesn't figured the secret of the world is. That smile Rin gave lol. The last part with Riki tripping and Kyousuke magically disappear of nowhere. Next episode will be rushed they have to do

Well Suginami did say something like "I'm sorry, I know there's already someone you like..." in the previous episode, so I think she basically acknowledged RikiXRin alr...

The new OST felt very eerie DX I would've preferred a "World Where Nothing Happened", but I guess either way it still works. I also would have preferred Kyousuke smiling at least a bit like in the CG when Riki found him.
http://kamimigaya.files.wordpress.com/2013/05/natsume-kyousuke.jpg

But regardless, this episode was awesome. It made up for the doubt episode 4 created >_<
I felt it was the right decision to skip the Rin's training to make time for other sections, I guess that means no more common route-ish stuff to fall back on now.

It's a direct sequel so of course it's related... same way After Story was to Clannad

other two would be super spoilers that you'd be better off not knowing

Well, I'm willing to answer many questions, but I can say to the first question: Kyousuke didn't disappear at the end. There are many people thinking that the little fade at the end of the episode meant he disappeared. That's not true. It was just a way of getting him out of their quickly so that Riki could be alone.

Little Busters does really feel like Higurashi, honestly, both in the overall story and in how the 2nd season is better than the first.

Just a note: Ryukishi was inspired to write Higurashi from Key's Kanon, and it seems like Little Busters packs the traditional Key feel with some elements of Higurashi (friendship). It also reminds me a bit of Cross Channel, in case anyone has read that.

So he was the mastermind of the whole thing? If his intention was just set Rin on her feet, it would be disappointing like Riki said. Curious to know what the secret of the world exactly is. Also wonder what Kyosuke really is. It looked like he disappeared from sight at the end. Looking forward to next episode.

Where did Kurugaya go? She didn't appear as if there had been no such character in the first place.

Yep. Lots of VNs are like that, but I think its especially true for Little Busters. Gonna let you in on a little secret, while LB is still my favorite Key work, some of the heroine routes are just awful. At the time (Before I started Refrain), I was playing the Game and I was like... "This is the best Key VN ever? I know Key fans tend to overrate, but I didn't realize it was THIS bad." So yeah... I kind of ate those words.

I read all the routes knowing the Secret of the World, and understanding that each of the girls' routes were...
superspoiler:

That understanding heightens the impact of the story significantly, and I thinkthat LB is much more appreciable overall if you understand the Secret.
Once you realize the home-hitting significance of the story and the routes of each of the characters, it's a much better and more complete story.

It's a simple Secret that could be described in a few sentences, but LB becomes a completely different story if you watch it knowing the Secret.

Wow, surprisingly a great episode this time! Seems like the animation has improved too. I loved the Kyousuke and Lennon scene...really amazing :D That was one of my favorite moments in the VN as well. And all the foreshadowing in this episode~ Can't wait for the upcoming episodes, and Refrain is getting even closer! :D

So, cheap tricks next episode? They still have to cover the rest of Rin2 all in one episode :O I just hope it won't be that rushed.. :/
And I guess my hopes of getting kick-the-can animated are gone.. OVA maybe?

Well, this episode was good so hopefully JC Staff can keep it up for the next one!

They are going pretty fast I guess and there was too much forshadowing to my taste, I really wonder what they are trying to accomplish with that. Other than that this episode was good, better than previous one.

(shame they skipped principal visit training that could be a lot of fun but I guess we will be seeing a lot more skipped scenes after this point unfortunatelly).

Man...this scene was so much better done than it was in the VN. I actually DONT MIND Riki and Rin's relationship handling either. Which is huge compared to how bad it was in the VN.

Well, I guess the biggest issue is that this season only got 13 episodes, then. They could've included all kinds of content, but in turn, the pacing would've been slower, and there would've been episodes where not a ton of stuff would happen in this season.
I think the cliffhangers they've been doing are pretty good, and each episode holds a nice amount of significance.

Having the continuity of the VN is an advantage to the medium; the 21 minute episode limit is pretty lame when it comes to making every episode worthwhile. The Lennon scene made that episode, and if they had Rin 2 in 4 episodes, that scene would've wound up in episode 6, and episode 5 would've been more comical overall with less actual plot progression, is what I'm saying.

I dunno, VN format worked much better for Rin's route. Kurugaya's was nicely cliffhangered, and I think Refrain being split into 7 parts will be okay, even if I wish the whole thing was longer. The 1 episode per arc could work out nicely if they do it right... They just need some good budget and directing for that whole arc.
