| http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teen_Titans_(TV_series) I've noticed that the TV series Teen Titans is not in the database. I filled out all the the required steps for putting it in but upon completion everything was cleared because I am not a moderator. So could you please add this show? Much appreciated. |

| http://myanimelist.net/anime/2591/Samurai_Spirits Main title Samurai Spirits: Haten Gouma no Shou Change Type to Special as wiki says it aired on Fuji TV and then was released on DVD. So it did not air in theaters. I can’t find it on EIRIN either. AniDB lists it as a special too. http://myanimelist.net/anime/839/Samurai_Spirits_2 Main title Samurai Spirits 2: Asura Zanmaden http://myanimelist.net/anime/1185/Battle_Athletes_OVA English title Battle Athletes New main title Battle Athletess Daiundoukai http://myanimelist.net/anime/1186/Battle_Athletes_Victory The current main title should be the English title. New main title Battle Athletess Daiundoukai (1997) On the official Japanese DVD covers they really do have 2 ‘s’ for Athletess. http://myanimelist.net/anime/1236 I would like to request this entry be split. There is a clear title difference with the addition of “II” as even showed by the title cap in the AniDB page. http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=1595 I feel like it falls under the “if there is no gap between seasons, but the continuation of the series is indicated as a separate season with a new title, it will get a second entry. (e.g. Shugo Chara, Shikabane Hime)” clause listed in the guidelines. Both Anikore and the Jap wiki have a separate "II". http://myanimelist.net/anime/5908/Chinpui It should be 56 episodes @ 25 min a piece. Each episode has 2 stories so I can see how it was mistakenly doubled to 112 eps. http://myanimelist.net/anime/8464/Pants_no_Ana Put English title as synonym. http://myanimelist.net/anime/635/Jubei_Chan_the_Ninja_Girl Main title Juubee-chan: Lovely Gantai no Himitsu http://myanimelist.net/anime/636/Jubei_Chan_the_Ninja_Girl_2 Main title Juubee-chan 2: Siberia Yagyuu no Gyakushuu http://myanimelist.net/anime/4534/Choujin_Locke:_Shin_Sekai_Sentai Change “Shin Sekai” into “Shinsekai”. It think it’s safe to say that the slash in the Japanese title can be removed and a space can take its place. http://myanimelist.net/anime/3325 Put the English title as a synonym. English title Brave Exkizer (as listed on official Japanese CD covers. Sometimes I see The Brave Fighter Exkizer on toys but I think it's geared more to toward the mecha's title rather than the show's name. But at least the Exkizer spelling is the same as the CD covers instead of Exkaiser.) http://myanimelist.net/anime/1346/AD_Police_Files Main title AD Police English title AD Police Files http://myanimelist.net/anime/1349/A.D._Police Main title Advanced Police http://myanimelist.net/anime/4567/Armageddon_%28Korean%29 Remove Korean from the main title. http://myanimelist.net/anime/4298 Futari no Joe is the main title. Joe vs. Joe is the synonym. http://myanimelist.net/anime/6090/Crimson_Wolf Crimson Wolf is the English title. Beni Ookami (Hon Ran) is the main title. Or just Beni Ookami. Or Hon Ran. I can't remember the protocol for bracket Jap titles. http://myanimelist.net/anime/2790/Oira_Sukeban English title should be synonym. |

| http://myanimelist.net/anime/11757/Sword_Art_Online I think SAO deserves a harem tag in genres. 1/ one male lead 2/ most of supportive characters are all female and they like him. 3/ once in a while, the story introduces another new girl who will likely join the harem team. 4/ sachi(not sure if the death counts), silica, lizbeth, asuna and suguha all gonna follow Kirito through SAO's stories. 5/ the male:female in SAO is 1:4 and more in the future.(by this I mean characters who will appear in the future and contribute to the story development, same point at 2, then again, they will mostly girl, kirito will be surrounded with girls throughout SAO) 6/ http://www.baka-tsuki.org/project/index.php?title=Sword_Art_Online:There_is_but_one_ultimate_way -> the author even wrote a side story about kirito being with the harem team 7/ most of people will agree with this change. 8/what else do I have or need to point out? |

| @lanblade Updated all, I believe. @Takana_no_Hana SAO is about the romance between Asuna and Kirito than him being indecisive about every girl that's interested in him. At least from what I remember. @yanhomo Loanwords from other languages will be spelled in the original language, where possible. @razisgosu Updated. @Shadow-Chan Updated. |

Goomoonryong said: @Takana_no_Hana SAO is about the romance between Asuna and Kirito than him being indecisive about every girl that's interested in him. At least from what I remember. It doesn't matter whether or not the main character chose a specific heroine. As long as there are supportive female characters constantly appear along side and fall in love with him as the story progress, it counts. first one is sachi, then silica, lizbeth, asuna and suguha. The anime made it like he entered each of the girl's route, solved their problem then move on to the next character and he will see the girl again in future. He has a whole harem team, not just because he isn't indecisive that it doesn't count as "harem". The definition of harem is that, there is only 1 male lead and most of the supportive characters who constantly follow him are female, they like him and they gonna re-appear again. I'd say that romance and harem can exist at the same time. But the harem elements in SAO is just too big to ignored. I've watched lots of romance anime, it's my favorite genre. I wouldn't want to see an anime which has "romance" tag but girls all over the place fall in love with a same guy and he just gonna select one -> this is NOT purely romance but it also consists of harem. Spice and wolf is a purely romance anime with no harem involves, because there is only 1 couple and they love each other, Holo and Lawrence. They have their love tested through adventures. SAO is not the same. You can say that kirit and asuna love each other, they have their adventures as well, but along the side, all the girls whom kirit met, also like him, they did not hide their feelings. Lizbeth showed it to Asuna that she likes Kirit. Suguha confessed to kirit that she likes him. Romance happens between 2 individuals(1 couple, consist of a girl and a boy). When a third person with the opposite sex enters(in this case, a girl), it's called triangle love. When the third girl appears, and she also likes the boy, then there's a perfect scenario for a harem to take place. It's not like all the girl would disappear when their problems are solved. They gonna meet the main character again -> the harem still maintains. When A likes B, but B likes C and C likes D->complex relationship. It's called love polygon. It still counts as romance cause 3girls don't like the same guy. Look at Shuffle, he doesn't like any of the girls, he rejects them all and it still counts as harem. P/s: Imagine there is an anime where you have more than 3 girls who want to be a boy's lover (let's call him A). If the boy knows who to chose from a bunch of girls -> romance If the boy does not know who to chose -> harem Then this kind of categorizing is flawed. |

| We have a guideline for the genre tags here in MAL and here is the explanation for the Harem tag: Harem - Anime that involves one lead male character and many cute/pretty female support characters. Typically, the male lead ends up living with many female support characters within the same household. The lead male typically represents the average guy who is shy, awkward, and girlfriendless. While each female character surround the lead male possesses distinct physical and personality traits, those traits nevertheless represent different stereotypical roles that play on popular Japanese fetishes; i.e. the librarian/genius, tomboy, little sister, and older woman. Some anime that are under the harem genre are: Love Hina, Girls Bravo, Maburaho, and Sister Princess. Please tell me how SAO falls in this tag. For it to qualify as harem, the story should mostly revolve around these details. Sachi, Lizbeth and Silica only appeared for one episode and hardly counted as support characters near the main character. And the story definitely didn't revolve around these girls vying for his affection. The focus is definitely more on Kirito and Asuna's romance, with Suguha on the side. It's not about what you think. It's about the site's guidelines and it clearly doesn't fall in it. |

It's about what the person, who has the right to add categories thinks. The definition for harem on MAL is only applied for a very typical harem scenario where a guy and a bunch of girls live in the same house, making contact with each other everyday. Anyone can tell. Btw harem is a sub-genre, I won't ask to delete "romance" in SAO, but I ask to add "harem" tag into SAO. The guideline definition for harem needs update. It really does. Whoever came up with that definition does not make it a "fact". But if you say something like, in MAL we have our own definitions then I will give up. Typical is not equal with the right definition. Here's the more correct one on wiki: Harem, hāremumono (ハーレムもの?), broadly,is an ambiguously-defined subgenre of anime and manga characterized by a protagonist surrounded, usually amorously, by three or more members of the opposing sex and/or love interests. SAO has met 2 conditions, kirito was surrounded with every girls he met and they all like him. http://cdn.myanimelist.net/images/anime/11/39717.jpg it's not coincident that 3 of the girls showed in SAO cover all like kirit. Oh suguha is missing btw. I've posted my explanation above. I will not argue in this matter anymore. Anidb is more logical when it comes to searching tags tbh. |

| Just because there are girls who are interested in Kirito does not equate that it is a harem. By that definition, there will be a lot of shows that will have this tag. The forefront would be the Monogatari Series. People aren't saying this is a harem now is it despite Hanekawa, Nadeko and Senjougahara(3 girls) being in love with Araragi. You could include the Fire Sisters as well so that makes 5. The story should revolve on the fact that the girls are supporting characters around him. But again, Sachi, Liz, and Silica only appeared in a single episode and the story did not focus on them vying for his affection. They were never love interests in the whole scope of the story(even Suguha), which is the last part of the definition you gave, as again, the story is more of Kirito and Asuna's romance. Besides, Sachi is not in love with Kirito. This much is obvious even in the novels and also in the anime. I'm also done with this. You should talk to the mods or Kineta about the correct definition of the genre tags and what should and should not qualify. |

Yes I would agree monogatari series are harem as well, harem as a sub-genre, at least they put a warning which reminds the viewers that there will be more than 2 female who gonna like the same guy. http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=6327 As I said, anidb is more logical when it comes to harem definition and categorizing. MAL harem definition needs update. Harem definition is not base sorely on the guy characteristic(he's indecisive, or acting straight),it must be based on the situation and the scenario which the main character is in. Besides, Sachi is not in love with Kirito. This much is obvious even in the novels and also in the anime. Doesn't make any differences when there are still 4 and MORE who fall in love with him. |

| And this is not AniDB. MAL still has its own definition. Any complaints about this should be directed to the mods then. We've had this definition of the tag for a long time now probably. And we've been given examples of shows who have the harem tag as an example so we can properly give the tag to the future shows. Love Hina, Maburaho, Girls Bravo, Sister Princess. Thus we follow that and tag shows that is similar to these shows. In no ways is SAO similar to those examples given. In no ways does the story of the show flow like Love Hina where story revolves around the MC and girls in that dormitory that like him and want his affection. I admit that there are girls who like Kirito. But again and again, I've been saying that SAO does not follow the same flow as those stories given. They only made appearances for one episode and then didn't appear again. It doesn't matter if they liked Kirito or not. They aren't love interests and the story did not revolve with them gaining his affection because they weren't present for the rest of the anime's run. Only Suguha fits this and if you include Asuna, that is only 2. The story is not similar to the examples above which is under Genre Explanation of the site when adding/tagging entries. MAL is MAL and AniDB is AniDB. We have guidelines here with examples given. If you really feel that this isn't right, give a complaint to the authorities and they will consider to change it or not. But as of now, those stories are our examples and that definition is our guideline. And SAO does not fall into it. I am truly done with this. I will ignore any further posts and you should talk to a mod about this. I still have some anime to watch. If SAO will have the harem tag, then I must insist that the Monogatari Series has it as well. The story definitely has the girls in there wanting to be with Araragi which is similar to the examples of the site. |

| Takana_no_Hana, AniDB simply avoids talks like these by adding every possible tag and category to the entry, and as belatkuro said MAL has a different approach. MAL`s way of being informative is to be brief and precise as possible. Thats why we are focusing on adding only the main tags and are very strict with possible sub-genres some users might want to see be added along. In another words current defenition of harem with given examples is fine in my opinion and should not be expanded to be also based on the situations and scenarios main character might endup a time or two during the series. |

Jap wiki says it was broadcasted with 2 stories per episode, 6 times. Making it like Dokuro-chan. Story 1-10 were about 12 minutes long each. Making a whole episode 26 minutes long (+2 min for the OP/ED). But story 11 [finale] is longer--a full 26 minutes so it must have been a stand alone in the 6th slot. And there is an additional "story 12" The Angel's Singing Voice/Tenshi no Utagoe/天使の歌声which has a "Special Episode" shown in its title card. It's 25 minutes long. This episode isn't accounted for on MAL. It was only available in it's own DVD when you bought the Special Box Set which included the other 4 DVDs with story 1-11. So that would make this episode an OVA. [Which you can make a new entry for or I can submit a new entry.] The fansub I have has the story/episodes put together in the order that's on the Jap wiki (the fansubs release style reflects the DVDs) . Both of them contradict the order listed on AniDB. Which makes me suspicious of their dates since they list the The Angel`s Singing Voice airing in 2003 with 2 other episodes on the same day even though the box set is advertised as having an unreleased episode (the box set came out on Jan 22, 2004). So I cannot pinpoint when what aired. Syobi only lists the re-broadcast of the show (no story 12 show) and the Jap wiki doesn't list exact dates at all (neither do any of the other language wikis). What do? |

| http://myanimelist.net/anime/20671/Shashinkan http://myanimelist.net/anime/20673/Hinata_no_Aoshigure The synopsis of these two short anime movies, taken from ANN, does not have all the details from the Japanese synopsis. I translated the Japanese synopses as follows. Perhaps they can be used instead of the ones given by ANN: Synopsis of "Shashinkan": The story started from before the war at a photo studio on top of a hill. Many people visited this studio to have their photos taken. One day a couple came but the wife was so shy that she always lowered her head. The owner of the studio tried all kinds of tricks to get her to smile and eventually he succeeded. One year later, the couple came again, but this time they brought their daughter along. She always looked grumpy and again the owner had to try everything to get her to smile. And thus started a long running relationship between the girl and the owner, and time passed to years and then decades... Synopsis of "Hinata no Aoshigure": Hinata is very good at drawing and he falls in love with his classmate Shigure. However Hinata is not good at talking to people, so he keeps his feelings in his imagination and his drawings. And then Shigure's family decides to move to another town. On the day of their move, Hinata says to himself "I must tell her my feelings!" and he starts to chase after the train which is taking Shigure away. |

BDL said: Please, add "Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4" as a synonym to these anime: http://myanimelist.net/anime/10588/Persona_4_The_Animation http://myanimelist.net/anime/13587/Persona_4_The_Animation:_No_One_is_Alone http://myanimelist.net/anime/14267/Persona_4_The_Animation:_The_Factor_of_Hope Please add "Shin Megami Tensei: Persona" as a synonym to this one: http://myanimelist.net/anime/3366/Persona:_Trinity_Soul I disagree with this post. The official titles for the Persona series in Japan are just that, Persona. Only regions outside Japan add on "Shin Megami Tensei". This is to draw in additional people based on the known series "Shin Megami Tensei" (SMT). Persona is not an official SMT title in Japan, therefore it should not be added as a synonym. |

| A couple of minor issues in alternative titles that I came across today: "Taro’s" should be "Taro's": http://myanimelist.net/anime/5873 "Rou-Kyu–Bu!" should be "Rou-Kyu-Bu!" (note the second dash): http://myanimelist.net/anime/10572 http://myanimelist.net/anime/15807 Edit: @Naruleach: No problem. They are very trivial compared to what other people in this thread come up with :) |

| http://myanimelist.net/anime/10357/Jinrui_wa_Suitai_Shimashita Its genres should be Adventure, Comedy, Fantasy, Seinen, Slice of Life. http://myanimelist.net/anime/10456/Kyoukaisenjou_no_Horizon http://myanimelist.net/anime/12487/Kyoukaisenjou_no_Horizon_II Same as before, should be Adventure, Action, Comedy, Ecchi, Fantasy, Romance, Sci-Fi. Also, since both Horizon series show lots of battle of wits and historical references Psychological and Historical might be added too. Thanks for your hard work. |

| Little Busters and Little Busters!: Refrain should have Slice of Life tags. Every other work by Key is tagged under slice of life, and this series definitely has the amount of Slice of Life to be expected from Key's other works. | http://myanimelist.net/anime/3069/Yamato_yo_Eien_ni The kanji 永遠 should be pronounced Towa here not Eien. so it should be Yamato yo Towa ni Check: http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%83%A4%E3%83%9E%E3%83%88%E3%82%88%E6%B0%B8%E9%81%A0%E3%81%AB 『ヤマトよ永遠に』(ヤマトよとわに) |
| So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old? I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |

| Lupin III: Part II (1977) is not a sequel of Lupin III (1971), but rather whole new series, alternative version to be more precise. After finishing first series few weeks ago, I started watching this second series, and noticed one huge inconsistency sequel shouldn't have. I checked Anime News Network and AniDB, and they both said it is a sequel, but due to more than few inconsistencies I noticed before with those sites, I decided to check japanese Wiki and indeed it calls Lupin III: Part II (1977) as ルパン三世 (TV第2シリーズ) (Lupin III (TV 2nd series)) - google translated. On MAL kanji is 新・ルパン三世 - New Lupin III, so even that says it's alternative series, not a sequel. Shin Lupin III, or Lupin III (1977) - either should be correct title. Not sure about 3rd Lupin series, haven't seen it yet. http://myanimelist.net/anime/1425/Lupin_III:_Part_II |
