Synopsis

Graduation looms for the founding members of the Light Music Club. With only a few precious weeks of school left, the girls decide to make the most of it and plan a trip abroad. Hawaii, New York, Dubai—many destinations are suggested, but after a little help from the club's precious pet turtle, Ton-chan, London is chosen as the host of their next misadventure!

Yui Hirasawa, Mio Akiyama, Tsumugi Kotobuki, Ritsu Tainaka, and Azusa Nakano will visit famous landmarks, perform live music for Londoners, and eat all sorts of delicious food, all while stumbling clumsily from place to place. But the fun won't last forever, as heartfelt songs and goodbyes will be made as their high school days together come to a close. One thing is for certain though: the undeniable friendships these girls have formed is something that will carry on long after the final scene rolls.

Okay, here we go for the thirty-first time: (if only my last review hadn't magically disappeared...)

Characters:
-Main characters: They are the largest group of girls I know who complement each other best, although I have no doubt that as soon as I see “Love Live!” it will take the title. (6/7)
-Secondary: Although they didn't do much in this movie, they are still likable. (1/3)

Logic:
Despite some unlikely events, this anime has managed to maintain its essence until the end, so I have nothing to complain about here, which is surprising for a comedy. (10/10)

Entertainment (Personal):
There's nothing that makes it stand out from its anime seasons, which ...

Mixed Feelings
I actually liked K-On! and K-On!!, and I like slice-of-life anime in general.

Perhaps 22 minutes of aimless antics seems charming, but you can't expand it to nearly two hours. The entire movie has about the level of "conflict" (like, say, Yui wants a guitar) as a perhaps two episode of the series spread across 2 hours or so. In my opinion, it just doesn't work. This is about 2 episodes worth of content (40 minutes) spread across 110 minutes, and it's really boring.

I say this as someone who views K-On! and K-On!! favorably, so don't be super surprised if you liked the series but ...

FunnyFunny
Now, the regular K-On! show sure is entertaining. The formula that they use works well with a 25-minute timeslot, and it is light and fun. The problem with this movie is that it's basically just a really really long episode, which is completely neglecting the strength of the K-On! series to begin with.
Moreover, this thing is simply a season 2 extension. Most of the senseless rambling the cast does throughout the film is about graduation and Azusa. The premise of the film is exactly the same as it was for season 2. Never mind the terrible execution of the purpose, absolutely nothing was challenging ...
