THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Sure makes me wish for another season, seeming as how yes there was some conclusion but seriously obvious room for more. Oh well, I saw 2 minutes left on the viewer when watching and do that was probably going to be the case.

Still enjoyed it though. Entertaining especially I think if you liked Trigun, since there are so many similarities.

I agree. The ending was pretty open. Too bad the original writer pass away in 04 but their still working on the manga. Seems bleak but as long as the manga is still kicking, there's hope lol.

so many people i know hate this ending. yet they refuse to listen to the fact that the original writer died. its left with a perfect opening to season 2 i think.

since the orginal writers assistant has taken up his mantel and is continuing the manga perhaps maybe if were lucky someday hell continue with the anime as well

we can only hope =)

I was wishing the ending wasn't so "...wow, that's the endig then?"
still, mysterious. at least i was happy that ion went to travel with abel <3
ion is for sure my favorite character.
felt bad for the original writer. i wonder if this was the ending he wanted.

And I'm one of those. I didn't like the end of TB. I just felt sth's wrong with it. For me it in some way didn't suit that serie.
But I didn't know that the original writer had died. Hmmm That may explein a lot...

I can't say this ending was bad, though. I've seen much worse.
also hoping there will be the second season XD

I enjoyed this story as a whole, so I can't say I didn't like the ending....but I'm not sure I understood it, is the thing. I haven't read the manga though...and since manga always covers a lot more than anime, I'm guessing I'm just in the dark on some things. Maybe somebody can shed some light.

First off, it appeared as though Cain defeated Abel in that battle at the end. Yet in the next scene, we've fast forwarded a bit, and Esther is being crowned Queen of Albion. I understand why that happened, but....what, did Cain just leave? If he defeated Abel, I would assume he would have continued his plans that same night. Maybe he decided that with his ship destroyed, he no longer had the power to complete his goals alone, and went back into hiding to try again later?

I was hoping they'd devote an entire episode to backstory regarding Cain, Abel, and Seth, but alas...it was only about two minutes, heh. Again, I'm not upset or anything, but I was left with the impression that all three of them were originally terrans, who had been genetically altered by nanotechnology as some sort of plan to colonize the moon (or it might have been Mars, I don't recall). I further assumed that "Crusnik" was the name of some powerful machine that the three of them had the ability to fuse with at certain levels, due to the nanites in their bodies (I could be wrong about all that -- it's just the impression I get from the show). Yet, earlier in the series, Seth alluded to events that both she and Abel were present for, that occurred 900 years in the past. So all of them are, at the very least, that old (but probably much moreso). So I'm led to believe that this story took something out of Battlestar Galactica's book, alleging that the human race was once technologically powerful millennia ago, fell, and is in the present day recreating itself...?

I get that by the present day, Cain appears to want to destroy humanity, and Abel wants to protect it. But clearly, the two of them had the opposite opinion when they were kids. I take it that's why Abel is always saying that he's "atoning for his sins". But what did he do, or what occurred to make him change his mind? And the same question for Seth? Did it have to do with the apparent death of that person in the capsule that they never identified (which I assume is their mother)? Was that her blood Tres poured on Abel's coffin? How did Cardinal Sforza know that would bring him back? Is there more to that brief scene about her youth in the manga, then we got in the anime?

And the very end, when Abel and Ion are talking. It appears as though they're aboard some sort of huge starship, made out of a chunk of the moon? Is there any significance to that, or is it just basically to tell us that Abel has chosen to leave his former life behind, in eternal pursuit of his brother? Well....they never said Cain was Abel's brother in the show, but....c'mon, with one character named "Abel", the moment the Cain character first showed up on the screen, my first thought was, "Oh look, this must be Crusnik 01, probably named Cain, and probably Abel's brother" ^^;;

I'm not usually a fan of syndicated titles, but finding a subtitled copy of this series to enjoy pretty much dispelled that. I'm just guessing I lost out on some of the finer details, without having the experience of the manga behind me.

All in all, I enjoyed this show a lot more than I thought I would.

ya i wasn't a fan of the trinity blood ending. it was a huge disappointment. The anime is pretty good just hard to follow at some points. I actually had to do a lil research to fill in the gaps lol but id stay it still ranks on one of my favs. I love the anime though, just hoping for a 2nd season. I recently read the manga online which seems to almost be caught up to the anime and just bought all the novels that have been translated into english. I read the first one and it was pretty good it seems like they go more into detail about the background. I heard the novels wrap up the storyline so im hoping once the manga catches up that the anime gets a conclusion :) can only hope though lol.

Which chapter in the manga corresponds with the anime ending?

Well, yeah, quite an open end just when it started to get interesting. The OST was really a strong point of the show and how everyone gone through a huge development.
I have to read the novels and the manga to fully understand, but I'll give this a 7/10 for this time, because Noto Mamiko did a really great job on Esther~~

Yes!! I wanted A LOT more backstory. I kept waiting for a "backstory" episode throughout the series but it never appeared.

@ Gaidai - I unfortunately haven't read the manga, but I'm going to do some research. You had many of the same questions I did.

I seem to be going back and forth from : "Wow. I get why that ending was so abrupt... but it works..." to "What just happened?! I'm not satisfied at all..." and back again.

To squeeze everything into 24 episodes was, I'm sure a challenge.... and I wish there was more.

Overall, I give this show an 8/10. I would have been a 9/10, but I feel that there was a lot more that could have been done to make it such.

everyone goes on and one about how bad the ending was but the thing is, it was set up for a second season but the creator died. the novels has a lot more of their backstory and the manga hasnt touched on it tooo much. the ceators assistant has taken up the mantel and is continuing the manga and such. so all we can do now is hope that at some point he will decide to do a second season.

I gave it a 6/10 but I feel this anime was lacking in alot of ways that I cant describe.

Since I know the original writer died I dont feel like I should complain tooo much.

This anime in general didnt make me feel like I should go read the manga since I didnt enjoy it enough overall. I would watch a second season though cause I am curious as too how they will progress off of the final battle.

Sorry guys buy im not gonna say "oh an open ending, here is your 8/10 TB"
I kept watching this series waiting for more info on the story but it was like a filler season of "enemy of the world" attacks. Its like creators says "go read our manga, we wont gonna tell you what you need to know here"
So I was unwillingly watching the series and this final episode killed TB on my mind:
2 minutes of flashback, uncertain final fight, nothing accomplished after 24 episodes (except a new outfit and a queen, yea we can call this series "queens tale" :D) ? Also puppet masters fighting technique... I prefer saying similar instead of ripoff most of the time, sorry but I have that feeling they really ripped of a few shows to create this piece of art.
Forgive my inconvenience, just finished watching the series and I feel regret for 24x23 minutes of my life, hardly gets 5/10 from me.

My sentiments exactly. I just finished watching a marathon session of TB and what initially drew me in was the artwork and yet when I sought substance in the story I couldn't find it anywhere. There were various parts during various episodes where I was literally dozing off. When they began to delve deeper into Cain/Abel/Seth's back story I thought "FINALLY!" only to be disappointed with more obscure references to a past that I wouldn't know about unless I read the manga. I knew 3-4 episodes in that I was barely interested in the story but felt I should stick it through to give it a real chance at redemption...and well, I sacrificed May 15th for the sake of Trinity Blood. Pretty disappointed. Gonna see if there's any TB hentai to lessen the blow.

Wait what? Abel was on the moon, well a piece of it? :| The ending, and the little backstory what's with that? Why so little info.

My thoughts exactly, loved the anime even knowing that after so many years there is no new season to it.

I'll give 9/10. Just because it has an awesome story like Trigun, and that Hellsing has similarities with this anime. Also because of the main characters, the whole set, the awesome OP and ED and many more. Would be 10 if a second season would exist.

Edit: forgot to mention, love the Romanian names, it's like it's trying to make connection with the first vampire Vlad Tepes. Which made Romania quite famous all around the world. (It's not famous just beacuse of vampires, but many think of vampires as soon as they hear Romania)

This episode was really underwhelming: the flashback and the fight between Abel and Cain barely served any purpose; the ending is too abrupt, I doubt it even fits the definition of open. In the same way in earlier episodes, the fact that there were no build-up for the death of Abel, or the origins of Esther leaves an impression of artificiality and uselessness.

Overall I really enjoyed the first half of the series: I liked the characterization, the episodic plots were interesting, and there's nice world-building. The use of European big cities as backgrounds is also a fine touch that could have been a little more exploited.

The second half barely had any of this. The premises of Ion's and Londinium's arcs were somewhat interesting, but I don't know, I didn't like the execution, plus Ion is kind of lame. Disappointing.

How the hell did this anime get a score of 7.5/10 on mal. I've never been so bored in my life, and as a reward for sticking through to the end I get nothing besides a flying car. Abel was a terrible Vash ripoff and didn't even make any sense as a character, none of the other characters were interesting or developed. It had potential, nice art and music - everything else was freaking terrible. 5/10 and that's generous. Guess I'm only taking shows with a score of 8 and over on mal any consideration now...

I'm rather impressed how they managed to end it this nicely, yet with a lot questions unanswered they provide the opportunity to the viewer to fill in the missing pieces which normally for other anime would make it sucky and make it a too open ending here they managed to make it actually pretty decent!

I quite enjoyed it from start to finish as the concept was pretty lovely and the character development together with the story development was pretty well done!

I proponed this anime for quite some while just because the box art was not that great but I sure was wrong and am a bit sad I only managed to watch it now!

All in all it's one great anime!

Who's the red-haired Cruznik and apparently the sleeping one that Sforza got the black tube thingamajig (possibly nanomachines/nanite)? I didn't read the source materials, wikis and other info sources, and just for the heck of it by following the early Genesis characters, I'll name her Eve. XP

Maybe that was his sin he kept moaning about? That he was a high and mighty, arrogant SOB almost a millennium ago? O_o Now it was an inversion this time, he's a penitent and trying to stop Cain though their transformation are still polar opposites, he looks like the Devil himself while Cain's white visage, wings and all seemed angelic. Now on-board a huge asteroid ship with Ion, are they going to Mars perchance? XD

It was good but it could have been better since we got more questions now or even great if the gaps in the entire plot could be resolved. 7/10

Well that went from a very engrossing, over the top, epic climax to a completely rushed and unfulfilling open ending in the space of about 2 minutes.

*sigh* Shame, I've not been in love with this series at all, far from it but I did enjoy this last arc for the most part. Not perfect but it was certainly entertaining. But this ending leaves me mostly hollow.

Unfortunately I read here that the original author died and that overall the story is much larger than this portion of the Anime. I wasn't aware before going into this that was the case but still I think the ending was a total rush job. I don't mind it's openess but the way we went from epic showdown between Abel and Cain to...well...to along time later with nothing really to explain what happened between then and now is just hugely disappointing and I really don't think that can be denied. Even as a smaller part of a larger story this was clearly meant to be the end of an arc and it ends poorly no if or buts imo.

Anyway I'm glad I have FINALLY watched Trinity Blood, I've owned the DVDs for nearly a decade now so I'm very happy to have seen it through. I doubt I will be reading the manga so I guess this is it for Trinity Blood for me. It was alright but, at least in the Anime, quite flawed and just not engaging enough. There was a real lack of depth for me in this series. Like there is a grand vision clearly but everything we see is on the surface and felt mostly paper thin. Humans and Vampires at odds with one another, mostly just through not seeing eye to eye and then some evil third faction trying to get the others to go to war with each other so civilization can start anew. Then the whole Sci-Fi angle honestly mostly went over my head. I know I'm skimming over things but for the most part this was the plot and it was not that interesting alot of the time.

A cool looking show but certainly not a good show. An interesting story in terms of events but also pretty stale alot of the time too.

It was fine, slightly above average I guess but that is it for me. 6/10

And so it ended, vague, shallow and mediocre as it was!

I see they did that devilman vibes at the end, this series just can't seem to want to stop when it comes to plagiarizing works. The fight had no specific ending, like I know Cain is alive, but what happened to the fight. Besides, Cain showing out of nowhere, most importantly what really happened between the two to despise each other. The backstory in the middle of this episode didn't seem to dwell much on the full details.

Coming onto Esther's inauguration, it was nice on the animation design. But still i feel like, her succession was out of nowhere and didn't serve much to her already useless character. I get it, they were trying to revive her status as the main character, but that was pretty weak if you ask me. Even when she spoke to the citizens to curb the violence, it felt lackluster and wasn't convincing to the viewer.

Overall this episode was fast and lacked any proper development towards it as an epilogue. The only good about it was Ion and Abel scene, which also was pretty strange in a sense. The worst I have to say about, was the cliché resurrection of Abel, it was an asspull and lacking in execution.

This series lacked any good writing. It tried so hard to be other anime like Hellsing and Trigun, that it forgot its individuality. What was its point from the start? What made us unique? Those are the most crucial questions it should've asked itself before trying to exist. The characters were so empty and fake, that I don't even have a favorite. The only I was looking forward to was Tres, and they that messed that up. The action scenes weren't angled well too, which made them so cringy to watch. The only good was the design. Worst character was Abel himself. The directing was the major factor that killed it mostly. For an example, Noell's death which was so poorly done and lacked meaning and emotions.

i still like this show, good ride, even if it had some terribly written moments and issues with sound balancing and weird abrupt cuts to something totally different, confusing the viewer. i guess in technical aspects it's not great but in enjoyment it's awesome. they hinted at more in universe stuff but if you blink you miss it and that's not really fair.

A vapid and underwhelming "finale" made of NOTHING after 24 episodes of NOTHING. The two most useless and annoying characters got married. Moreover, the mangaka's dead. Awkward.

Finishing this badly written, cliches riddled, vampire bitten banquet after more than 10 years doesn't leave any special aftertaste and really makes you realize how one's taste matures with time: my teenage self liked it 'cause... bishies, a whole lotta bishies in cool costumes.
Wasn't a totally atrocious experience - Chrono Crusade is still worse - but planets away from Gonzo's best days. The saving grace? Music and character design.

Jeez, you’d think this was TBATE based on the comments of hate 🤣. I enjoyed this anime but the ending did seem rushed. The initial history wasn’t explained enough and is Ester one of the original 4. I generally like Gonzo works and this was another one although I typically don’t watch vampire stuff. I’m hoping to 2025 Gonzo release will be good. Five years is a long time with zero releases.
