Interesting, Carole and Tuesday got another chance to showcase their talent but this time, it's for a much bigger crowd. I'm not surprised there's a sense of nervousness going on in their minds.

It's human nature. I must say though, those two are lucky to even get this chance. Not many people get them.

Next live? They get a chance to go to a huge festival, but just sub.

Wow, a news about a new character causing trouble... He's an artist that will be going to be in the festival... and it's the next day! As expected (?), that guy caused "trouble" again before coming to the place. Probably because it's too hot (at the desert) that he hit something to the extend that he lost blood.

The two had to hide from Mamo's character and accidentally met Yasumoto-san's character. He seems to know Sakamoto-san's character.

It seems like that new character is in pain (actually the news today says it's by KajiKaji, but couldn't notice if I haven't read the news, but do make sense).

Yasumoto-san's character's music is soul?

lol @ drinking the new character's drink out of nervous. Then she's not nervous anymore. They are replacing that new character, who is not in condition, for a little while because he appeared soon after. The audiences were expecting him, so they are not happy.

Sakamoto-san's character came to praise them for not run away from the negativity. The ep. ends with her performance.

I like the new songs. Poor Carole and Tuesday got 10,000 haters on their first big live, but hey, haters or not, they're still getting recognition, and the more people that knows them, the more of them are gonna become their fans.

Good to see Ertegun again. I'm surprised he hasn't killed Roddy yet for destroying his car lmao. The part with him talking to himself in the mirror really reminds me of Hououin Kyouma.

The English voice of the black guy doesn't fit him. The song is good though. Has a really mystical feel to it, just like the misty atmosphere in the room (?) he and his crew were in. I'm glad he turns out to be a good guy. That part totally looks like some secret party with lots of dope and shit lol

That moment with Tues and Carol after the performance when they were trying not to break down really struck me for some reason, I wish they’d done a bit more with it but it was still a moment that resonated with me for some reason

Carole and Tuesday really stood their ground out there. The crowd wasn't easy to please, understandable(btw why did no one inform them beforehand that they would act as a replacement?), but as Crystal rightly pointed out, there will be those who acknowledge their talent and many already did.

I really like the underlying message of this episode.
Nothing comes easy when you're going on the road to success.
There'll be setbacks, twists, complications, etc.

This was a setback for them, but give credit to the two for bravely standing out there in front of that rabid-ass audience.

Crystal's performance, though....that was on another level.

Carole & Tuesday is by far the GOAT of the anime listed in the "music" category. New music tracks every episode instead of hearing the same one song over and over. And the characters INCLUDING THE SIDE CHARACTERS give a good representation of what the modern music industry is like.

Decent episode, didn't really like C&T's sped up song too much but the other two songs were great, Crystal's especially. Also I really, really love her design. Maturer anime girls ftw.

Love how this anime doesn't waste any time. They mention performing in Cydonia at the beginning of the episode, and it happens in the same episode.
But yeah, things just don't go smooth every time.
Fast speed of their music felt really weird during the performance. Anyway, they did well enduring the hates from the crowd.

Crystal's song sounded pretty nice.

For those who don't know and keep saying Skip's voice is too different, the singer is Thundercat Grammy award winning artist and composer. If you hear him do interviews his voice and singing voice is also very different, obviously not to this extent

I have to question choice of English singers this time. While singing itself is good, neither Skip or Crystal’s singers sounded similar to their voice actors (not to mention that Maaya Sakamoto easily could’ve sang a song herself).

This so much. Whoever Lauren Dyson sang Crystal's song did great, but Maaya can sing absolutely AMAZING in English...I can't see any real reason to have had her changed unless it was on her end... I did hear that she doesn't like singing "in character".

Great episode It was very funny 😂, but also something hard.
It is not easy to start in the world of music and that was what we see today in the presentation of Carole & Tuesday, especially if the audience you are heading to expect something else like, in this case, Heavy Metal, a musical genre very different from what the girls have been composing until now. But, despite everything, they were incredible as they continued to sing and play with the harsh criticism and boos that were on them. That does not do any, requires great courage.
These two girls are great and will have the opportunity to address a much more welcoming audience. These are only small steps to your great future as singers.

By the way, the songs of Skip and Crystal, I loved them. This anime has very good songs. Crystal's presentation was great, it transmits magic, I see why Carole and Tuesday admire it so much. I loved the song "Unbreakable" ❤.

Funny moments:
1.Roddy reading the problems of Joshua, the vocalist, at the hotel. Who the hell makes a bonfire in a hotel?
2.Gus ruining the moment of the girls with their ugly breath. LOL 😂.
3.Carole and Tuesday fleeing and trying not to be seen by Ertegun, hahaha.
4. When Tuesday drinks Josua's drink. LOL 😂😂😂.
5. Is it my idea or did Joshua fall off the stage?

Emotional and reflective moments:
1. "Those who chase two beavers do not catch any."
2. "All musicians think" I want to do something like this ". They always have that in mind when they start, but eventually, they eventually lose sight of that. They are blinded by the bright lights, and begin to lose the sound with which they began. You still have it. Make sure you do not forget it ». Great advice, I hope they never forget it.
Skip is a good guy.
3. "They did well to persevere in that moment." They stood in front of this crowd full of hate.
I know that your song reached someone. There will be some who remember your voice. I am one of them. "I think the same as Crystal 😀 What a greater reward than receiving the praise of the person they admire She is great.
4. "This is a valuable experience to move forward." Very true Gus.

Well, until the next episode 🎶 😀.

This episode did a great job at showing precisely at how the road to stardom and success can have its twist and bumps.

Carole & Tuesday got a good breakthrough of being a support group at the Mars equivalent of the Coachella festival or Glastonbury, but without the grasslands. While we get to see the weird Ertegun again, there was some new faces as well. Joshua (Japanese VA's pronouncing it as "Yosh"ua just sounded a bit weird to me) is a typical hellraiser whose brains doesn't seem to work if he's not drunk enough to play his songs.

Skip's song choice was nice and the same goes for his singing VA. However, it felt like a mismatch for his type of character, though.

Eventually, Carole and Tuesday got the opportunity to go on stage since Joshua was MIA at the time. Sadly, the crowd never got any notification about this switch and directed their anger to the poor girls. They did their best to sing their laundry song at a faster pace on stage, but the crowd was being too angry to give the girls a chance. Then comes along Joshua with his wacky entrance that gave the girls the chance to come off-stage and recollect their emotions and thoughts, since they were upset. D=

Thankfully, the popular singer, Crystal, listened to them playing and praised them, almost similar to Skips praise of the two earlier. Crystal's song was really good and although Maaya Sakamoto's singing voice is great and all (I even have some of her songs on my iPod as well), I can fully understand why they went with Lauren Dyson for her singing instead. She sounded great. =)

Maybe these sort of questions will probably disappear when the show gets an English Dub down the line, where they would have a better chance of getting VA's to be close to the vocal singers so far, but that's just me. ^^;

It was Gus's friend who called after all, and the girls did get a chance to perform at that festival. I mean, it wasn't something certain, only a "if", but it was something. They managed to avoid Ertegun, and they met Skip, who seemed scary at first, but he was a nice guy who knew about them, and even encouraged them in a way. His singing voice, and the beat of his song were way softer than what you would expect at first glance too.

But things don't always work out as you hope they will. Carole and Tuesday swallowed their fears and stood tall on the stage, only to be met with hostility and not even having the chance to truly finish a single song. I understand the crowd to an extent, they expected an artist they were fans of and then some "nobodies" appeared on the stage, but it was still hard to watch and I still see them as rude. The way the unstable singer just appeared out of nowhere cutting their song was harsh too, the rowdy crowd didn't have time to truly listen to Carole and Tuesday to the point of caring, but this wasn't for nothing. Crystal, who they are fans of, heard their song and it touched her. Something is bound to come from this, from their meeting with Skip and Crystal. And I can't wait to see them coming back, but as stars and not as a simple backup for a "shy" and unstable guy.

this is the most amount of black people i've seen in one episode of a anime(granted this thing is pretty darn western) but it was amazing, lol only downside is Skip's VA is wayyyyyyy off compared to his singing like they give this brother a deep ass voice only for his English to be a lot higher pitched

decent episode like how the magic didn't happen and they managed to perform despite all the hate it was losing battle but like crystal said it reached someone

Great episode with lots of good music. Skip seems like a cool dude and his song was good but lmao I don't think they could have picked a worse Japanese VA to match the English (or vice versa) is they tried. Him and Crystal definitely had a thing tho.

C&T get what seems to be a pretty lucky break. Guess it pays to have friends with connections and a bit of luck. Didn't exactly work out for them tho. Felt pretty nervous for C&T as they were going on stage and the garbage throwing didn't felt. Tbh after hearing Joshua's music I don't really think C&T would be a great replacement. But hey any publicity is good publicity and Crystal really came through for them at the end.

Lmao, that Skip guy, I really thought he was going for a kind of hardcore rap but... seems like rap isn't the trend on Mars. But at least he seemed to have a kind of good-heart, that's something postive & very encouraging for the girls !

I appreciated listening to a new music style, but sadly it was abruptly cut by this Joshua... still, receiving support for one of their favorite artist should have comforted them.
