Well this was an unusual episode. The gimmick of the stage play mixed with the shadow was actually noticeable. The kidnapping part too took me by surprise somewhat.

"Kage shadow" LMAO

Not bad. I wasn't expecting to see the entire play. Shun was hilarious.

Loved the ED :-)

Damn, the whole episode was spent on the play. I actually wanted to see the group's reactions after their own performance.

The play itself was alright but a bit boring at some point. Though I liked how some dialogues were somewhat philosophical, such as when Ikuma was taking about his time as an (assistant) pilot and how he compared his experience with the "eye of a typhoon" as in feeling completely neutral.

Overall, not bad. Kira saving the performance by ab libbing in the midway was awesome though!

Ikuma's face LOL.

The episode was funny. I thought they're gonna sing while doing the play. Aw shucks. :((

I did not expect this entire episode to be the play. Not as bad as I thought it would be tough!

Honestly, I watch this show because it takes itself so seriously that I think it's funny. Yeah sorry. I watch it cuz I think it's lame. But this play was MEANT to be funny, so i laughed when it was intended this time around! It felt like i got something out of it.

And Shun finally got to talk a lot! (I started watching because of Ono Kensho)

I have my hopes higher for next week(usually don't have any hopes) so I'm actually looking forward to it! This sure was amusing!
The 2002 Tokyo Mew Mew adaptation is not as great as you remember it being.

Hmm...yes.

It had some nice moments, like the part where we see their view of the sky, that was quite beautiful. I'm sure the play itself wasn't supposed to be the best thing ever written lol. I'm just enjoying how well OnoKen and Kakki are doing with their characters, I don't think I've heard them with such a different role before. Looks like especially OnoKen is going out of his usual roles that utilizes the same tones recently.

Wth...with this episode, this show suddenly feels deserving of the 5.88 score it has now. I kinda feel bad for the seiyuus involved in this project. I just feel that their talents are wasted in this show and most of them are quite established as VAs already.

Amaki messed up, just when I thought it was going way too well for acting. I love that talk abut chasing dreams, you can't tell if you really want to reach your target or you are just being stubborn.

"Kage shadow" I didn't even notice it was shadow twice until Kakeru mentioned it hahaha

The premise of play wasn't bad, just that there was too much going on and they kinda tried to fit all that in but kind of failed. I still liked this episode though I am like way in the minority.

Anyways the ED this episode was great, really catchy.

Lol... well the actors were very good at their parts. i could feel the passion that they were able to convey.

the play, while having a good message overall, was trying to do too many things at once.

They got hijacked by extraterrestrials! XD

"I'm borrowing this plane!" and "Lick this and calm down!" Fabulous.

I guess I'm in the minority when I say I actually like this show very much. The execution is different and I really enjoy it. The atmosphere is subtle and unique, thanks to character, animation and concepts. It's a SoL that has relatively nice character development, dedicating whole episodes to a character and dealing with different philosophies of being an idol and living... And this episode was especially interesting and fun because they showed the whole play. You'd never see that in any other series, but I love that I am able to see the whole product of their hard work and what it was exactly they were working on! I wasn't sure about this show when I saw the first episode; I thought it was stupidly hilarious, but I never really expected the enjoyment I have got out of it so far.

The randomness in the play was fun, made me laugh at times. It was silly and had philosophy out of the blue, but it works I think. It's cheesy and silly, but somewhat meaning and rather entertaining.

It wasn't as strong as the previous few episodes, but still pretty decent. I had to think harder just to get the message of the play. lol Quite interesting overall.

Me agrees.

Disagree. Maybe this episode wasn't the best to represent how underrated it is, but it's still not 5.88 :/ I really like the cast here because they're playing roles outside of their normal characters (like Kakihara Tetsuya usually plays goofy outgoing characters while he's the opposite here)

This episode passed by really fast to me, maybe because I was hoping to see how they would react after the play, which, actually, was really bad. Plot twists all around and subplots being picked and dropped all the time... wasn't the scripwriter a renomed one, in-universe? lol
At least President agrees, as we can see in the next episode preview.

I hope the overall score of the anime goes up after it ends, I actually think it is pretty good.

Whom do you mean by the scriptwriter? For the play or the episode itself? If it's the latter, Hashiguchi Ikuyo, who is the novelist of Shounen Hollywood is doing the scripts for all episodes herself. She is also the one who does the lyrics for all the songs.

Inside the series. Their manager even once said that the scriptwriter for the play was famous, and Kira recognized the name from a previous work he had done, etc.

I didn't knew the original novelist was doing the scripts and the lyrics, though. Nice to know.

I think people are being a bit too critical on the play. It's not like it was a series in itself. And really, if you were to be someone watching a play (which is being put on my a bunch of highschoolers...and a middle schooler and a drop-out), than wouldn't you be proud of them to at least have been able to do what they did? Much better than most high-school productions out there, really.

But needless to say...it was still pretty bad. For a famous writer, it was a little out there. Perhaps if we just saw bits of the play, and performance itself spanned over an hour like your average play, than it would have fit better. Ah well, nice to see they dedicated an episode to it, regardless.

The show still managed to give some deep, thoughtful conversations between the characters, and some awesome analogies which have kept me watching so far. Though at this point, I have a feeling that either Amaki or Tonii will end up being my favorites. They both did so well in the play, and where the most memorable. Though Kira's growing on me, though I do wish I could see how he reacted, and wether God is actually going to praise him for his performance at long last. Guess I'll need to wait for the next episode ^^;;

So many people disliked the episode. ): I on other hand really liked it. It's funny how the red hair dude, the one to almost went crazy after they found out about the alien invasion, got duped by pretty words about dream and living in the moment. (lol)

It's also going to be interesting to see how the other guy who forgot his lines deal with his problem.

The quote about feeling normal after reaching your dream is somewhat relate-able.

I am really glad they dedicated a whole episode for the play. sadly in the minority tho

All the dislikes, lol. This episode felt a lot like a short play, which it was meant to. I guess a lot of anime-watching folks aren't into that. I felt like the play got more an more interting as it went on. One of the more consistent episodes imo.

Is it bad I liked the personalities they had in the play more than their real ones... LOL

Anyway, I enjoyed this episode more than I expected to. Kind of reminded me of avatars "ember island players" episode xD
