THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Saw this yesterday while watching an NHK special. It's a nice addition to the documentary and shows what the people in the computer industry are hoping to develop for the future. I recommend watching the documentary along with this anime. The anime in itself is pretty informative about what they're trying to achieve. The part with the virtual person gave me goosebumps, because really, that would just create more loners with no rl friends. I did a quick Google search and found a Youtube link. Still haven't found a subbed version. The dubbed version which NHK aired sucked real bad. |

10 minutes of greatness. The not to distant future looks just as how this anime is perceiving it and with the use of technology for human benefits, medical help and academic progression it's shaping up the best that technological advancement has to offer us very soon. If thats how things would be in the next 8 years I can't wait :D |

It's really well-made, both graphics with animation and music are great, but the anime itself is sad... Living in an automated world seems too lonely for me. I'd like to see more of this, maybe TV series or movie... |

and the tech is really make sens :) all that being shown already can be experienced TODAY (although in lesser scale and sophistication). like when using Google Maps overlay, Layar. but im kind of intrigued why they didn't show any wearable computing. Maybe japan is sceptical that anything like google project glasses or mircrosoft VR will become real in 2020? |

Well this was pretty interesting. It sets up a nice introduction, I could see this being a full length anime very easily. |

That was really good for a 10min short. I would love if they made a series or movie out of this. I can see a good story forming just from that virtual student. |

That was rather good; I hope they plan to make it into a full series. SilentTruth said: I thought it was good. Can someone tell me who's voicing Mako? I'm not exactly sure, but I think it's Hikasa Youko. |

The technology they have is fun to watch in use and some material I'd love to see around one day with the way it integrates the real and online. It was fun seeing them use that to show Kei. A gentle and warm kind of OVA, I enjoyed it. |

In my opinion this would actually make a new decent school life genre anime.. I'm tired of all the cliche BS with nothing, but fan service appealed towards idiots. This one seems like it could be pretty unique and quite nice.. |

this anime triggers my imagination, thinking about how awesome would it be to live in a world like that. even though it's only 10 min short, the atmosphere of the story can easily reach to my surroundings and grip my attention to the story. I love by how they visualize the future technologies and gadgets that they're aiming to create on, through the story of this anime. ... anyway, If this anime is going to be adapted to a full series or a movie, I would really love to watch it! |

Well, that was weird, curious how far technology will have come along in 8 years. |

This was actually surprisingly good compared to what I expected. At first the animation itself felt kinda weird, because the coloring makes it look like its a constantly moving drawing rather than a smooth animation, but in the end I got used to it. Lots of colors, but for once I didn't mind all the colorfulness. The technology seemed pretty realistic, albeit we might still not be quite there in realf-life 2020. And the virtual person (aka AI) was a nice addition, albeit a bit creepy (in an intriguing way). I would really like to see this turned into TV episodes rather than just a special, because this sure has potential! |

TomoyoSakagami89 said: During the first 55 seconds of the anime, does anyone else feel like they've heard the background music from somewhere? It may just be me though.. I want to know what the track they're playing at that very moment, was pretty nice to hear. The 10 minute short was great, I enjoyed it and I want an anime series for it I guess but I don't think it will be, it's more like a long NHK commercial to be honest. NHK love doing shorts by the way. Anyways, I scored it a 8/10, I liked it.....a little taken aback by how short it is. |

Some of the technologies shown are already deployed in real life somehow. The augmented reality part, the portable image recognition, Google Goggles comes to mind, though it's not that comprehensive or extensive yet. The integrated earthquake forecast and public warning system had more than 30 seconds to warn everyone to expect the earthquake in the anime, in real life, Japan's Earthquake Early Warning has only few seconds to warn everyone but at least the system is in place. An AI studying in a university? What is he...uhmm it's degree program? Human Relations? Human Behavior and Psychology? Human Interface Technology? o_O T'was a good watch and I liked it. I hope I'll still be around in 2020, mortality and life's uncertainty sucks but let's see in 7 more years! Anyway what I'm really praying for is I get to see the flying cars in my lifetime. LOL 7/10 |

Isn't the Japanese sense of evolution too fast? This was made in 2012 and they were already thinking that 2020 would be like that? That's too fast, the world can't change that fast... There aren't even robots that can do little things, only robots for specified purposes. 2025.. PROBABLY 2030 would be like in this anime. Also, wasn't that 6 magnitude too strong? Though nice anime |

That's what I thought but really just about everything set in the future shows an implausible fast leap in technology. You just gotta remember it makes a more interesting story. |

That was nice. I like how the mc went from not being motivated to highly motivated. If only I can find my trigger too. The AI at the end was pretty handsome :) The technology was super cool too, though not sure how having almost no waiters and customer service workers would affect the population in terms of having jobs/employment rate? Just a random thought. |

It looks like Mako is in love with that Kei A.I. A.I although taking entrance exams, of course they would pass as they would be programmed to. This was such a no brainer. I think I've seen what most writers think the computer world would be in the future and this one wasn't that special. But the earthquake device would be very convenient for the future though. 6/10. |
