A final battle for the sake of the future and restoring peace. Yup, that's how this went and it's what I did expect.

Oh yea, the food. They didn't forget about food even in the final episode! But yeah, this season was..idk, odd imo. It had its serious moments, slight mystery, and a whole lot of delicious food.

Poor Renge. :( I really wanted her to survive.

Anyway, a pretty satisfying finale with a cool final battle. They also made a new friend who's as perfect addition to the group as Renge was. I'm sure they'll cook lots of delicious food together.

But yes, the war is not over. The future of the world isn't going to be easy.

This was an entertaining, funny, cute, and also a touching show. I'll miss these girls.

Renge giving it her all to defeat the main host of Balor, yet Team Emu will conquer the rest after seeing her conviction through and through, and it's a ton of work for the 4 remaining girls. Without her, the clones wouldn't have survived, the balls to kill her off after her previous iteration have done the same.

And just like Renge when she approached Team Emu, another survivor of a young girl trying to find her way out of danger, and the 4 girls entertain her alongside Renge a.k.a Onigiri Sukisuki's video by making one of her food creations, to a faithful tradition thankfully. And when the Wild Hunt danger calls for them, Team Emu becomes the hope of humanity to defeat wherever the alien creatures are and save as much survivors...for their own benefits.

Nice to see Team Emu rising up and meeting lifelong friends this way.

Well, this is GoHands at its own league when it comes to their original shows...all style and no substance (though there is kinda one here, but is all over the place sadly).

Well, that was a fun ride with Kappou and everything.

The girls found a new survivor who totally fits their vibe, and the way she met them felt just like how Renge did.

I’ll always remember shy Renge and cheerful Yuri. ❤️

"That day, we met an unforgettable lifelong friend." The ending made me smile.

well, in a post apocalyptic world with killer machines, it's nice to know there are four friendly clones helping people.

Renge was such a sweetheart am sad that she didn't make it. Really nice to see that the girls made a new friend at the end and that no matter where they are they will always take the fight to the Wild Hunts.

I’d be lying if I said I understood what this show was about lmao. No fucking way they actually let Renge die tho. Respect to Gohands for not being afraid to kill people off but I really hate that she didn’t get a happy ending 😔 her sister lost her twice now essentially and they never really got to spend time bonding.. life isn’t fair

I’m also confused on how there’s still wild hunt if they defeated the big boss, wasn’t that the purpose of Renge sacrifice to defeat Balor and therefore end the threat posed by the aliens? Sort of feels like we had 12 episodes to basically end up right back where we started? I mean I guess the girls are much more experienced and stronger now so they can deal with the wild hunt that are still around more efficiently, but.. will this world ever have peace? Will the humans ever be able to rebuild society?

Lot of questions, definitely a thought provoking show and an interesting premise. Could’ve done with better pacing and less filler though. I did enjoy some of the girls cooking scenes and their chemistry, but I could have gone with another story episode or two.

"Am I the weird one here?"
So say we all.

Still not a male to be seen.

I seem to have liked this much more than average viewer. In particular, I vibed with the animation style more than most.

They fooled me. Until the episode when to other originals appeared, I thought Renge would be the one surviving and mourning the rest.

Anyway, goodbye to some unforgettable friends.

Kind of an unnecessary last episode, though the last scenes were quite nice.

Overall this was better than I thought it would be. The cast of likable and fun to watch characters saved this from being too generic. SoL scenes were definitely better than the action scenes though. 6/10

That was amazing, god it's such a breath of fresh air to have a series this post-apocalyptic with maho-shoujo AND with a mostly optimistic ending DESPITE killing off main characters left and right. It's like Maho-shojo magical destroyers but replacing that series' ambitiousness with style instead. An extremely chaotic and fun style that makes this series much more memorable imo. I wish we got to see more of Citron, and I wish Renge didn't have to die, but I do love how everyone else is optimistic and not worried at all about taking down the rest of the goliaths! If maho shojo magical destroyers is like EVA (last time I'll bring up MSMD I swear) then this is like TTGL, and much like how I prefer TTGL over EVA, I prefer this over MSMD. Fantastic series, here's to the final secret episode being subbed too!

This one was a bit tough for me to review because while I somewhat enjoyed it I thought it left too many unanswered questions. For example, where are all the males? Were they the initial target of the Wild Hunt? Where did the Wild Hunt come from? Maybe they were the males that were missing, who knows. Also, it's a shame that human Renge died and unless I'm mistaken cloned Yuri also died but not human version. On that note I don't recall if they explained why the clones were created in the first place but I digress.

While a sequel announcement would be nice, especially if it explained unanswered questions/plot holes, I am doubtful it will be produced.

They were to be a fifth column to undermine survivor groups, but apparently that function was never activated with the unexplained collapse of the invader's world.

The entirety of this anime, and Renge's death were all so very underwhelming. When she died i was like "oh.. ok, that's whatever I guess".

I feel like it was just way too rushed, and that Gohands threw together a story at the last second.

It was an alright anime, had some good moments, some really bad. Overall I'll give it a 5.8/10, though I'll round it up to a 6 for MAL.

I wouldn't call Momentary Lily a straight up bad show. There are decent episodes and the overall idea is fine.
The problem is they added the aliens that control humankind and the overly dramatic deaths seemingly just to make it look deeper than it is.
I don't think there is any shame in making something shallow if it's fun enough and that's what this anime would probably be better as.
Animation is something GoHands gets a lot of hate about, but in this case I don't mind it and I even like it in some cases. (Too many reused cuts though...)
Overall, the hate is understandable, yet overexaggerated, in my opinion.

What a twisted scenario, this show should be named Momentary Renge, not Lily/Yuri.

Instead original Renge survived, this new boring girl become a new MC.

Painful end indeed... oh well, still love the character design at least.

The creators abandoned us—we’re just another experiment in line for elimination. Precious people are dying all around, yet we keep smiling through it. The way they cope with loss, treat one another, and welcome newcomers… it’s all so strangely uplifting.

I hadn’t planned to watch the whole thing, but they were so lively and endearingly odd that I kept going. Great dialogue, and a touching story—perhaps about the last true human, leaving behind her message: "Kappou!"

I enjoyed Momentary Lily all throughout. I am proud to say that I am now a GOATHands Crusader.

Okay, I was wrong that we will have a copy of Renge. After all, some other facilities might still have their cloning stuff working.

But we get a new character, Shoujo(少女), the same word for the genre 'little girl' and voiced by Renge's seiyuu.

What I understand is that prior to hacking the facility, Wild Hunts will always spawn back into existence. After the hacking, there are still numerous Wild Hunts. The difference is that if Renge did not destroy the big boss, no one will ever will.

So you're telling me that with this ending, practically all the content between the firsts chapters and this one can be ignored?
Everything that happened in between is connected in one way or another to Kappou Girl, and with her death(a pretty underwhelming one) the girls returned to their initial goal of wandering around and killing monsters while a new girl, strangely resembling Kappou Girl, just appears out of nowhere and joins them?
It's like if Kappou Girl never appeared in the first place and the story just followed its natural course with Don Don Don girl dying, Bigbooba girl getting her weapon, and then they meeting this new girl...
I feel like this show tried a lot of things, and then left them halfway and went back to the initial CGDCT form.
I feel the same way as Gigguk when he gave his opinion about the show, less is more, and everything in this series is an example of that, from the story to the animation.

@Marinate1016

Put it in more concrete numbers, before Hinageshi hacked the facility, the number of wild hunts is INFINITY because they can respawn.

After hacking the facility, the wild hunts can no longer respawn so the number of wild hunts is FINITE. I don't know how many of them actually exists, but let's say the total number is 100,000.

Team Emu just need to destroy those 100,000 units of Wild Hunts. After doing so, the Wild Hunts are gone forever.

__________

Now, my reply above is just pointing that if Renge did not defeat the big boss at the cost of her life, the other girls are not likely to defeat them, or at least that's what the anime is claiming.

Now I wonder if Renge and the other girls simultaneously attack the big boss. Could they defeat it without Renge running into her limit and dying? It's possible though I'm not sure.

Besides, the other girls had to distract the other Wild Hunt so Renge could fight the big boss one-on-one.

I did not like this finale. I thought it was bad even if I only used a Momentary Lily-only scale. They basically just replace Renge at the end with a new girl. I guess it was to give her fans a bit of happiness, but it seemed quite forced and unnecessary. The comment on how she looks like Renge made me scoff.

I don't like GoHands' style or animation much at all. Legit makes me nauseous at times. Like being car-sick. I do understand the appeal though. It is definitely different and pretty unqiue. I kind of got used to it a bit as the show went on, but I generally just avoid GoHands anime these days for that reason. All girl cast and Lily in the title though, so I kind of had to check this one out as a yuri completionist. Just in case it turned out to be yuri. It had some of the typical CGDCT elements that I like, but I couldn't explain the story to someone if I tried. It kind of started going all over the place toward the end. It also didn't help that they killed off my favourite character at the very beginning of the show, lol.

I really enjoyed the colour palette though. Super pretty and very colourful. Some of the character designs were pretty good too. My favourite being Nerine. Like, why was she not in the show more? Or, just give her design to one of the mains instead :P I really liked the sound of the VA for Nerine too. She didn't have a ton of lines, so maybe not the best at actually voice acting, but her voice was very pleasant. Unfortunately, it also had some designs I really, really didn't like. Balloon tits girl, for example. The OP seems way more popular than I thought it would be. It was skip for me every episode and I don't generally skip many OPs.

I'm glad some peeps enjoyed it, but I didn't like this one at all. Not my least favourite show of the season, but very close.

a good original action anime! Gohands really went all out with the animation—amazing fight scenes, interesting characters, and those chibi comedy moments were top-tier to me. The plot had some unexpected twists, the drama was solid, and the final episode was incredible. It’s sad that Renge died, but in the end, it brought the girls closer than ever. And of course, we can’t forget ‘‘KAPPOU!’’ Original anime rarely get sequels, but who knows? The future might surprise us.

This was kind of weird at first but I'm glad I stuck with it. Now we need a season two that is more slice-of-life and just focuses on the girls exploring and occassionally defeating a man hunt. I ignore the MAL rating when choosing anime to watch exactly for this reason.

At least it was ambitious, but still very much a flawed show

1. The weird catchphrases and kappou scenes never worked. If handled well these kind of things can make the characters and scenes feel iconic but here they just stuck out like a sore thumb vs. the background and were distracting filler to the end

2. The plot honestly feels pretty pointless in that they achieved very little.
They did this grand quest where they did find the 'truth' behind themselves but the plot ended up doing nothing of note with the revelations afterwards.
The positive progression was that the big bad machines have halted their big bad plan and the man eating machines will no longer increase exponentially but the MCs played 0 part in this, it just happened because the big bad machines felt like it, at least in effect.
It's framed like Renge 'sacrificed' herself in the final fight, but in reality she was already dying and they are still fighting years afterwards. Her death feels inconsequential at best.
The new girl's appearances in the last episode resembling Renge in EP1 a lot is cute in a way but also shows how little happened in the grand scheme of things, the rest of the cast are going on about how Renge changed them but they really don't seem too different from EP1. Also seems they've almost forgotten about Yuri now which is funny

3. There are very few moving parts to the plot.
They tried to force feed personality into each of the main cast but they still blended into one another. All they do with these distinct personalities is just crack jokes among themselves, they just tag along together without adding much to the story individually. They're this supportive fighter team and nothing else, of course it's not like they do nothing at all but they all feel interchangeable

4/10 I think

Aw damn Renge did actually die. They presented it in such an odd way where it takes away impact but I get they probably did that on purpose to make it so people wouldnt hate the ending too much by lightening it up. Feels anticlimactic even though it is more meaningful to having a sort of message about being able to make friends after losing them.

R.I.P. Renge. This episode confirmed her death. No fake-out death bullshit here (like Sabikui Bisco, Qualidea Code and One Piece). Unlike Mob Psycho 100, characters actually die in this show. They killed off another main character, so that's 2 shocking moments in this show, and it's a bigger deal than Yuri's death as Renge was in more episodes than her, and both the real Renge and her copy are dead. Plus, she was young and likable. Sad that she died. This was an amazing show. Had 2 of my favourite things in anime: Cute girls and tension. Unlike Log Horizon, where no one can permanently die in that show, which kills the tension, Momentary Lily isn't afraid of killing off characters. Of course I would've liked it to have been 2 cours at least. The low rating it has on this site is criminal. 9/10 show for me. Hinageshi was my fav character in this show.

So yeah, enjoyed this more than that stupid latest season of Fire Force, which hasn't killed off any of the good guy characters, and it looked like they were about to kill someone off in an episode of Fire Force, but he ended up living in the end, which annoyed me. There's still a chance that they might kill someone off in that show, but there's also a chance that none of the good guy characters end up dying when the show ends, which would piss me off. Dr Stone has been pissing me off since season 3 as well, with its lack of deaths. Even if it doesn't have the action tag, it still has a lot of action in it, so I'm annoyed that it hasn't killed anyone off, if ever.

Better story and lore compared to all the other previous anime by GoHands I had watched (K, HandShakers), even if they had to rely on aliens to make the lore have more sense. That said, there were still some flaws in it, like where the clone-Renge's andvari go, and if the aliens faced a threat that could wipe them out, wouldn't that mean there's no hope for the rest of the people on earth if that threat comes to earth as well or what even was the threat the aliens faced?

Pretty average anime, overall. Didn't really enjoy it much but it was still enjoyable. Kappou~!
