Cat finally opened the charm Dragon Kid gave her! With that she managed to get Mugan.

Watching everyone on their last leg for so long was rough, though...

As for the supervillains, their adopted father genuinely cared about them till the end...

Loved these 13 episodes. Can't wait for the next 12(?). I hope more character development and Ouroborus' defeat can make it in there, but Ouroborus is too large a group for just 12 episodes to take them down. Either way, great stuff, can't wait for more. :D

Edit: Also I noticed they toned down a lot of the uncomfortable stuff, like Fire Emblem grabbing people and Rose's crush on Tiger. There was uncomfortable zooming in on Blue Rose and Cat in the first episode I think, and the catchphrase of Blue Rose about her "naughty body", but otherwise they were left alone.

With the crush thing, I hope it's not completely ignored, and they show she's getting over it or at least mention it again instead of pretending it never happened, especially given how big a plot point it was in season one.

I ended up really liking the new heroes tbh, but the twin villains uuughhhh....let's see how things goes in the 2nd half, but it looks more promising from the cliffhanger tbh. But yeah, I'm glad they've toned town that stuff too. So far, I still like season one better.

Was a cool way to put an end to the twins, and made a little less frustrated with Magical Cat.

Now I know why looked like the production was investing on Golden Ryan, because one of the next part villains is Ryan's past villain.

And I hope to see Lunatic again.

Edit: I almost forgot to pay respect to the person with a panda mask carrying a salmon.

The animation sucks, is bad comparing to the first season which look like made for Mappa. The cgi is souless and the 2D scenes are very static.

The excessive use of CGI was so jarring. I remember back in the 1st season it was reserved mostly for vehicles, armored heroes and for some reason, Fire Emblem as well.

Now, everyone and even Hugan and Mugan got animated in CGI very often, which made some action scenes painful to watch. This wouldn't be so bad imo if they've kept using that only for when we're seeing the characters from a good distance tho.

There must be a logical explanation for this mess of a story.
Like the production was greenlit in the last moment without any script, so they desperately rewrote some rejected PriPara episodes?

I liked Sigourney-san tho.

I legit screamed when we lost the twins and their dad. I honestly really felt bad for them. They just wanted to do good for their beloved adopted dad.

Looking forward to season two. Here's to Thomas getting the stick out of his ass, Yuri actually doing something besides being grumpy he has no friends, and Barnaby and Kotetsu finally going on their drink date.

Fire Emblem, Barnaby, Tiger, Sky High, Rock Bison and Origami were always CG when they were in their suits so that has not changed.

A-

OMG I ALMOST FORGOT ABOUT THAT! It seems like you're right since Ryan did face the villain that escaped w Mattia's experiment, so yea, seems like it. If the next 12 episodes don't focus on Ouroboros and instead focus on Ryan, I'm guessing there's gonna be at least a third season for all of us

Yeah, tbh THIS is the characters I've meant when I've said "armored heroes". There was no reason to written every single one of their names, I think everyone here would know which heroes I've was referring to.This season I've seen non-armored heroes and villains being CGI animated as well. And those ones looked pretty bad, for most of the time. This is what I've meant to say.

I think this was the first episode of Tiger & Bunny that I didn't like.
The animation budget must have been so low for this episode.
The characters moved so sluggishly and none of the attacks had impact, even though the dialogue suggested otherwise.

so the one that has a petrifying power is the Old Man of Mugan and Fugan

RIP to those 3

the buddy system remains but i hope Lunatic see some action in the next arc

now time for the next cour whenever that is

and as usual anime sequels have bad animation quality there are exceptions obviously but the norm is like that like even Attack on Titan (the most popular anime right now) got bad animated sequels too

Now that this core is over, it's time to ponder.
Before this new season i rewatched the first one and the movie "rising". What i loved the most was the characters and the pacing of the story.
Things like foreshadowing of events and characters were on the mark then, but this season it's a mess and brings little joy. The introduction of the villains and showing up almost every episode was unnecessary. Other things like that was that old lady book "Little Aurora, Hope" sign... sigh... I get it! I get the concept of freaking obvious foreshadowing for next core... It was shown so damn times.
Now the CG... This season they abused it. Now most characters, even out of the suits, are most of the time in CG...
But the worst thing of all! The villains! They are so unbearable! On top of that they are like 90% of the time in disgusting and stiff CG.
At least i ended up liking more the new characters by the end of this core.
Sorry if i'm trash talking so much about this season, but it's the reality. I hoped to had enjoyed more this far.

The last two episodes were hilariously bad, was laughing most of the time. The wonky CGI made the fight worse than it did, I don’t remember season 1 having this issue, but it’s been a while since I saw season 1. The three kids were punching bags and looked like jokes lol. Very anticlimactic ending.

Overall though, this show was a hit or miss. Learning more about the main cast was very cool, but some aspects of the show was half assed. All the new heroes are not as enjoyable as the OG cast.

I didn't like it very much. The series has turned into some kind of typical superhero action movie, there is no depth in the characters.

Okay, that was .. fine, I suppose.

Looks like the test subject or the organization will be the main antagonist of the series. It was anticlimactic how Fugan and Mugan were defeated to set that up though. All in all, it felt too abrupt starting from Episode 8 and it didn't help that they got beaten within the next 4-5 eps.

Tiger & Bunny coming up with another decisive and on-the-spot plan to emerge victorious, that's experience. A cheers over their IV infusion to finally get to the dinner plan, lol.

Definitely preferred the first few episodes of the season and here's to hoping the climax over the next cour will be handled better. For now, I'll give this a 6/10. Oh, and I'm going to miss the ED if they change it.

i really liked that the first few episodes reintroduced the characters and the flaws they share with their buddies. glad lara, subaru, and thomas still had loose ends to resolve in their character-centered episodes, which made the fight more fulfilling

now that their small characters arcs are done, hopefully the second cour can be even stronger

Couldn't help but laugh every time Mugan went and smacked Cat to the ground. There was nowhere she was safe.

Eps 8-13 were good, Mugan and Fugan were some weird characters, strong, but weird. The final fight was pretty good. The setup for the next part was a pretty brutal way to end their arc.

They overused CGI, it's too jarring on non-armored characters, especially twins who are very expresive and them as cgi models make them too stiff.

I'm actually sad that they were both killed. I certainly didn't expect Cat's attack to end up like that. I still like Jake and Kriem more as villain duo.

I tried so hard to watch this slowly yet it still passed so fast. I liked the first half of T&B2. Atmosphere is very much like s1. I haven't seen Scarf girl tho. Also they did Agnes dirty, it's probably because Netflix.

I do wish they used a little less CGI for the last fight when Mugan/Fugan were up close. Heroes looked good however. The Twins aren't like Lunatic in full armour, they look much more obvious when in CGI.

For the 2nd half I do hope that Lunatic will reappear. I had a blast the whole season seeing him so often as Yuri, but he has a certain charm as an anti-villain. I feel the producers are waiting for the right moment with him.
Next villain will be that runaway guy? The something with Hope woman? More Ouroboros?
Barnaby still has to learn about the trio being Ouroboros. Will that change his temperament? Can't wait to see!

excellent, so excited to wait another half a century for the next half to come out, thanks netflix x

this half was enjoyable in some parts but i honestly really hated the twins and they were kinda ruining my enjoyment . i really didn't think the 5 of them were gonna be able to defeat the twins, tbh i was thinking to myself like are they gonna drag this out into the 2nd half of the show? i thought they were gonna have to bring in lunatic. either that or someone was gonna get a random unexplainable power boost out of nowhere (this got me kinda on the fence tho, like was that just completely unrealistic for the heroes to defeat them or--)

kinda questioning how in tarnation the long haired twin was able to shoot himself when he Literally said both his arms were broken (and he couldn't even make a fist, iirc?). actually everyone was kinda broken at the end there but im trying really hard to justify this in my head lol. writers gotta demonstrate the characters as being broken BUT NOT TOO BROKEN - so they can still get up and walk (kotestu and bunny) & so they can try and get away even after being impaled on a fence or having at least 3/4 limbs destroyed (the twins)

guess the jumpsuit guy is gonna be the next big bad. okey dokey. still think this show didn't really need to be revived (especially by netflix) as it was fine where it ended x number of years ago .

I'm surprised how much I came around to the twins, they were annoying at times but it felt pretty intentional given they were basically being portrayed as young kids, the choice to make their guardian completely sincere about their well being even in spite of ouroboros was absolutely the correct way of doing it, felt horrible for them in the end.

All around these 13 episodes were a blast, its not as good as the original but thankfully cause its actually trying different stuff and just having fun with itself a slight drop in quality by pure comparisons sake is a really negligible complaint, it just feels good to have the series back again with this much content. These characters are too fun and the show's sense of humor and optimism is infectiously joyous.

I do wonder what the conflict/villain is gonna be in the 2nd half, theres no way that prisoner guy is gonna actually be the big bad, I was kind of getting the vibe with how the tone of all his screentime has been that Matti might end up being a villain in the end with a fall from grace kind of thing but with no next powers not sure how they would work that.

Can't wait for the next season, is it season 3 or season 2 part 2?

Overall I like it better than the first season (but I like the movie Rising more) though to be fair, the first season doesn't set any high expectation for me, and I always shake my head when I see Tiger and Bunny ranked highly in many anime poll.

There are many politically corrected upgrade in season 2, possibly because Netflix. One change I don't like is Fire Emblem doesn't grab anyone's butt anymore, though it's because my fetish that I want to see hot-straight heroes get sexually assault by a gay hero. But other change, like how they minimize the sexualization of Blue Rose and tone down her feeling toward Kotetsu are fine by me. On the plus side, there's more manservice like Ryan's shirtless scene, very sexy, except it makes me notice that there's no nipples on him (for comparison, the Rising movie still shows nipples on Rock Bison, plus body hair)

Now the story, overall I like it. I don't like the fate of the twin though, they're victim of Ouboros organization. They haven't kill anyone (I assume, just petrified). They can be better, but it's impossible now.
Bunny is kinda like an empty shell once he doesn't have to revenge anymore, while Tiger still has his personality. Tiger is really the best superhero. But other heroes are also great. I like the Black and White hero, they're so cute! So hotblood, so young! And Ryan is very sexy as I mention above.

I was pretty underwhelmed by this first half, tbh. The first half felt like a series of filler that was just meant to re-introduce you to characters, and even the big bads (though they were fun) didn't have too much to them beyond being bad guys to give the season a climax.

I wish the main conflict (the twins / ouroboros) had more to do with the heroes themselves (which I thought was why Black/Thomas were introduced, but their stories were pretty unrelated so far too), but who knows, maybe the second half will have more character-related plot in it, now that we've got all the 10 year re-introductions out of the way.

Poor Mugan and Fugan. If only there's different timeline where the twins and the old man can live together freely without Ouroboros. :( They seemed like very fun characters... I am very sad they were killed... Guess we are back to the main villain and this time he has a drug. Wonder how big of a role will the Red hair have.

Just finished. I thought something was off all along with the new heroes, Agnes being a little chubby and Kotetsu having his powers back. Didn't know the movies weren't just some recaps of the first season ^^'. Overall it was in the same spirit of the original and fun to watch.

I thought they might have to take that pink serum also in order to beat the Brothers. But I guess not. I enjoyed those 2 Villains

I wonder if that escaped guy will create a group/gang of Villains using the drug he stole

8/10 (probably more like 7.5/10 but I'm rounding up). Funny early on in the season. Then a good multi episode fight towards the end. Especially since they liked to be clearly outmatched by the Villains

This season is hard pass for me, where do I even start from?

We spent half of the episodes in setting up the buddy dynamics, only to hospitalise the senior heroes.

The "final fight" has to be the most drawn out anime fight I've ever seen, probably because of the annoying superpower set of Fugan/Mugan, it just doesn't make for an interesting fight dynamic. The "heroes" were flailing around like useless dummies, even Tiger & Bunny were barely allowed to do anything.

Why was Fugan/Mugan's father chasing a souped-up Next with only a gun? Why didn't he just let him escape? The worst part is that he got done in with a gun of all things, so he probably wasn't a good shot to start with.

Why was Yuri Petrov/Lunatic watching the heroes hang on by a thread? What happened to his code of "not turn a blind eye to evil" and punishing any and all criminals? Was he afraid of F/M? Biding his time? Was he researching their weak points in a plan to attack them later on? He sure didn't show any signs of such plans.

What are we looking forward to in Season 2 Part 2? At the end we're left with almost nothing, except an escapee Next with power amplifier syringes. Did Ouroboros' whole plan really rely on a handful of people in a building with 0 security? I get that these guys are just a branch with little importance to the bigger body of the organisation but this level of incompetence is still an insult to the watcher's intelligence.

And don't even get me started on the cheap-looking CGI character models and animations.

It may seem like I'm hating a lot on this show, but it's actually coming from someone who enjoyed Season 1 to a high degree. This follow-up looks like something that students cooked up one week before the deadline of their project. I can't help but wonder why Netflix would even try to revive this IP of all things with such a low-effort sequel.
