Characters end up becoming sheets of paper in the adaptation that dribble on with endless exposition about things that amount to nothing and go nowhere, there is no depth or intelligence to the dialogue when it's just missing 90% of the content, the viewer expected to fill in the blanks with what they should already know which evidently they don't know, nor is reading some wiki going to make things look any better. It is barely animated for the vast majority of the running time. So basically this is yet another "original vs adaptation" thread. Don't like the adaptation? Throw the BDs through the window. I like to watch anime and not read books. |

| Any adaptations tend to be inferior to their source material. This is the unfortunate law. If they adapt everything down to the letter of the source material, either pacing can be off, or just not gonna work in the visual media. It's up to the directors to see how they adapt this, so it's 50:50 how good an adaptation can go. As for animation, it's unique enough. Even though it's not something like...Ufotable's Fate and KnK series animations for example, but most people care for the story and dialogues and emotions. So if they like it, they like it. Haters gonna hate on the other hand. |
