A college guy who dwells into ani/manga for escapism, inspiration, positivity and sometimes enlightenment even. I also take both mediums as a source of learning not to mention it goes without saying that they both have impacted and changed my life in a lot of ways...I love to read novels/non fic to(A huge fan of Agatha Christie) and I occasionally consume Tv series (from Netflix and Hollywood) I do like to interact with individuals sharing the same interests as well (hate trolls and conceited ones though)
IN any case my favourite genres/demographics are steam punk, Dark fantasy, Mystery, thriller. Romance, BL, Sports, Shounen, SOL and seinen
I am very selective in what I read or watch since i cant really waste my time on everything frankly(Time is of the essence after all). In other words I don't follow everything for the sake of it or if its popular...
>Pandora hearts is my favourite series of all time(Just perfect to say the least) followed by Magus of the library, Assassination Classroom, Umineko, Blue Flag, Relife and Haikyuu(these 6 are interchangeable more or less equals for me in a way)and the list goes on...(cant rank after that honestly)
I dont update as much as i used to on this website

Hope you have a great day ahead of you :D
Again, agree with everything about Ange xD
Sayo‘s backstory and overall character felt incredibly real too, definitely one of the best handled things in this, if not the best.
For me it’s 4>7>8>5>3>6>1>2 but I gotta say that on a reread part 2 feels ALOT better than first time reading exactly because of the context we know have about the characters it focuses on.
I not only have a list for best endings but I have a list for probably everything you could think of, I’m a little obsessed with lists at times. It got to the point where I had so many lists on here that I exceeded the amount of characters you’re allowed to use in a profile bio xD
All of the endings on your list that I know of are pretty great yeah, though I only saw the Relife anime so I’m not sure how the manga ending is there.
I’ve seen a good amount of people saying that Rebellion isn’t good, even up to some saying stuff like „it doesn’t exist“ and that kinda irks me a bit because it did the one thing the original show needed to: give Homura‘s character arc a sense of closure. There’s also some great YouTube videos on it that I’ve seen
Well then, good luck on your exams (I’m so glad I don’t have to do stuff like that anymore, well there’s one for my job that I have to do in a few years but that’s on me… xD)
Or, if you ever wanna see an actual rant by me, then read my review for Casshern sins, because that was one show that actively made me angry xD
I was actually curious the other day when you did your comments here why you didn’t do them on Anilist cuz of the last short message there. The character thing is pretty cool yeah but I kinda still like the user interface and stuff here more, probably because I’m more used to it I guess.
Aböut Bloom Into You:
Well, most of why I like it so much I mentioned in my review, but in short summary the reasons are basically:
-it’s a relatively unoriginal story with incredible execution
-it’s a romance with an actual non-romance plot surrounding the characters very reminiscent of another one of my favorites Karekano (I mentioned a lot about that one in my review too ^^)
-if we’re talking about representation, there’s a lot there too with a straight side couple, same sex couples and even an ace character (that one is pretty rare)
-realistic depiction of a relationship with a person still entering into it despite not being in love at first to see if it works out (honestly that’s so weird to me that most romance anime and manga don’t seem to do that and only after the confession of both they get together.). That’s basically personal experience for me and seeing my friends do it
-it did A LOT of things I’ve always wanted to see in a yuri manga like I mentioned before the asking friends/family for advice and stuff like that (ah lol I just realized I didn’t even finish my sentence in my earlier comment: „part of the reason“ should follow „why I love BIY so much is because it did all that“ xD)
The main point on why it clicked is simply because of how well it’s presented and having stuff like actual conversations and resolving drama that gets dragged out in other romances really fast and because I could relate to a lot of the characters thoughts, especially Yuu. I think I may have mentioned this in the review too but I read it like 3 times in 5 days. The ending was just way too sweet not to so I wanted more. (The side story light novel is pretty good too, gives good closure to Sayaka‘s character arc)
Man i took way too long to think about that last bit cuz most of it is in my review (actually one I’m pretty proud of tbh and the reason I do more reviews here on this site and not just in my phone notes xD)
No worries on the Blue Flag rant, happens to all of us sometimes. and I wrote a reply to that earlier to better show why I think how I do. (Also to add to the last bit: I've never seen a kind of character like Mami in any story before so that was something I wanna give my highest praise for. Her being in it alone makes this manga so much better xD). From now on if someone asks me for romance manga, I'll probably recommend it to others a lot. I don't care what kinda themes a story has that make it "Unrecommendable", I'll just do so anyway. xD
Sayo is underrated I think because
Agree on pretty much all of what you said about the manga (though I don't think it comes that close to PH), though part 4 is still my favorite cuz of the connection I made with Ange (she's among my favorites together with Beatrice, Battler and Will. Beatrice is somewhere in my top 15, the exact number you can find on my profile in my list ^^)
In the list of manga endings, it's number 2 for me, just behind Girls Last Tour. Now that ending completely BROKE me. Overall including anime it's number 6 (10 Steins Gate, 9 Gintama, 8 Assassination Classroom, 7 Madoka Magica Rebellion (that movie gets way too much hate), 6 Umineko, 5 Girls Last Tour, 4 Gurren Lagann, 3 Mawaru Penguindrum, 2 Symphogear XV, 1 Code Geass, I used to have that list on my profile but took it down some time ago)
Cringe moments have happened to everyone, to me also probably a bit more than the average person, but it still is uncomfortable to see them at times. I don't exactly read stuff, especially romance manga, to get a doze of second hand embarassment. If they're happening to you and you think they're handled well, that's fine, I'm just not a fan of stuff like that myself. Just means you can relate to it more rn.
You can blame the publishers, the magazine, whatever you want (I've read all the volume extras and a lot of author comments and stuff like that and seems to me the mangaka was actually encouraged by his editors and staff to make Touma part of the love triangle. And the "homophobic" mindset of Japan has improved A LOT so I don't think it' s as big of a problem as you make it out for this story, given that this started in 2017) and part of it is valid because there are definitely certain rules for certain magazines, but that doesn't mean that the execution of the story magically gets better because of it and I, personally, think that from a narrative standpoint the ending was not exactly well executed. Where the manga ended is not the problem, Taichi being bi makes sense and him and Touma would probably make a good couple. The problem for me is how they got there, and that is a point you already mentioned earlier: the theme of choices. Almost the entire second half of the story is about who Taichi is gonna choose in the end and his choice is presented, at the beach where he chooses Futaba as lover and Touma as best friend, and that choice is IMMEDIATELY negated in the span of like 2-3 pages. Just looking at the narrative flow, that is a huge blow on the impact of the second half as a whole, imo.
If the author had the chance to make another 2-3 arcs like you said, fleshing out Taichi and Masumi's figuring themselves out (quite honestly, there way too few manga or stories in general that do the figuring out part properly or where characters are going to confidants like a best friend or family member to get advice, part of the reason ), THEN it would've probably been a high 8.5 or 9 for me.
"If you know about bisexuals" ---> https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/star-wars-memes/images/5/52/Ben_kenobi.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20200428070654 I figured that out pretty early though, so I MIGHT have a little bit more experience on that front.
Typical ending or not, but just because something is different also doesn't make it better. We saw how that worked for us with Chainsaw Man.
And like I said, sure it makes sense, just could've been executed a bit better
Aaaand about the part about "exploring it beyond what's shown": I don't think you'll find a lot of people that go into reading some stories, especially with these kinds of topics, with a more analytical mindset than me because in most stories the beauty is in the details.
To end this message on a positive note though, I REALLY REALLY loved Mami as a character. I didn't very much like her at the beginning but that one chapter where she basically first goes off on the others I realized I did the exact same thing and made up a false image of her in my mind (the author probably wanted us readers to have that kind of reaction to her). Out of every existing language in this world, she woke up and chose to speack FACTS. Definitely my favorite character in this xD
Also, I didn't expect you to finish part 8 that soon xD
