Synopsis

One year has passed since the Black Rebellion, a failed uprising against the Holy Britannian Empire led by the masked vigilante Zero, who is now missing. At a loss without their revolutionary leader, Area 11's resistance group—the Black Knights—find themselves too powerless to combat the brutality inflicted upon the Elevens by Britannia, which has increased significantly in order to crush any hope of a future revolt.

Lelouch Lamperouge, having lost all memory of his double life, is living peacefully alongside his friends as a high school student at Ashford Academy. His former partner C.C., unable to accept this turn of events, takes it upon herself to remind him of his past purpose, hoping that the mastermind Zero will rise once again to finish what he started, in this thrilling conclusion to the series.

Code Geass is an absurdly well developed story that combines intricate mind game strategy/tactics and captivating pathos/characterization. With no wasted episodes, characters, or even subplots (debatably) Code Geass cements itself well as a thematic, humanistic, and profoundly communicative work, defining not just the mecha genres focus on the stories behind the pilots, but the wars and politics that invoke such machines. Are terrorists a reflection of the fear mongering, unjust systems they combat, or are they to be held in contempt for their methods? Is there really a "better way" or are the falsely righteous just stalling the real progressives? are means and ends one ...

Mixed Feelings
Honestly, Code Gueass piqued my attention when Attack on Titans ended and I saw someone comparing Eren to Lelouch. Back then, I thought that there was no way another main character could have such a bad ending as well. After finishing Code Geass I stand to my initial belief. Eren and Lelouch are not alike in my opinion. They do share some questionable methods, though.

I really liked Lelouch and I honestly found the show interesting. There are some moral discussions throuought it; battle scenes are okay. What stands out is Lelouch's strategies and ways of thinking. The plot lacks consistency in some important points and ...

Coming off the high of Code Geass season 1, season 2 sorely disappoints. It tries to be a story of epic proportions, but just misses the mark. From the very first episode, it doesn't immediately follow the events at the end of season 1, jumps around even more than at the end of season 1, and season 2 only gets worse from there. The scattered and constant skipping of scenes ultimately turns the overall narrative into a jumbled, incongruent mess, filled to the brim with innumerable contradictions and plot holes. AND it's even worse of a knightmare to keep track of events and of where ...
