both series have the same sense of humour, and the main characters also remind each others in both series. i find something similar in the plot also 

One girl, with a lot of handsome guys. And it's not just a normal girl, in both the animes the girl is a bit abnormal, which makes the anime funny!

Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge aka The Wallflower is similar because they are both romantic comedies that deal with an unique girl having to deal with sexy guys. Both have similar comedy and situations between the characters. I actually read Wallflower manga thinking that it reminded me of Host Club then I tracked down the anime and watched it. If you enjoy Host Club you will love Wallflower.  

Ouran High School Host Club and Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge are both about sexy boys dealing with a girl whos like a guy 

Both are similar, an unusual girl (Haruhi and Sunako) who coexist with a group of handsome boys, the difference will be that in ouran Haruhi have to be with them to pay her debt, and in Yamato Nadeshiko they have to be with her to have freee rent. 

What could possibly be better for a girl than getting into some guys community. One girl, supposable stupid and obvious, few guys (more - better) as pretty as you couldn't even imagine. Here we go, this is shojo. But our todays guinea pigs are different. It's a total parody on all shojo cliches and many other things like date-sims, yaoi and so on. Better to watch first some classical stuff like Fushigi Yuugi, success guarantied. Both Ouran and YNSH starts with typical and than crush all your hopes to predict movements. Prepare yourself for unstoppable laugh. Ouran is more delicate, YNSH hitting a raw nerve without hesitation. If you're shojo addict or smth like this try to bust stereotypes and than you'll definitely find those series amazing. read more 

Comedy, A girl who doesn't fit in with the boys, Watch as the boys try to teach the Sunakol to become a young lady. If you loved Ouran High School you are sure to love Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge (Wallflower)...  

The theme is the same. Both anime deal with a group of bishies around a girl. Male harem and comedy is also the theme of both anime. Although I liked OHHC much better but these two are very close in some ways. 

The positive ways of rich families and the possibilities of it never to happen in reality. Still they both amuse in the impossibilities and the over-dramatical gestures.  

Both are reverse Harems types. Though Ouran has more of a plot, both are very funny and are shoujo.

Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge is what would happen if Ouran High School Host Club has a baby with Kuragehime. While I think each one is enjoyable, I felt YNSH had more overall depth to it. While it's more famous counterpart may have NO trouble getting viewers, if you haven't seen it yet I highly recommend you watch Yamato Nadeshiko because it's SO funny and awesome! 

it kind of has the same storyline about a girl surrounded by cool guys that are always together, its pretty much the same in a lot of ways 

Take one unladylike girl, stick her with a handful of dazzling, charismatic boys, and fill in the leftover space with fast-paced, frenetic, occasionally absurd humour. The series take a very similar premise (an androgynous girl works off a debt to a host club by learning to become one of them, a group of dazzling boys attempt to reform their landlady's anti-social niece with free rent as their motivation) and take off running in opposite but equally hilarious and entertaining directions. Similar, but different enough to be fresh and funny instead of the same ol' thing. 

Both animes are so funny in a similar way. High school stuff, ''hyper cool' boys and ''alternative'' girl in a lot of LOL situations. The characters are amusing and likeable. In both animes the characters get themselves involved in crazy situations and you really laugh your ass off!!! I find both really similar and both are definitely high recommended: you have to see them!!! =) 

Both are comedy and contain one girl with bishounen boys. the relationship between Tamaki and Haruhi it is remind you in Kyohei and Sunako also in presentation the events are similar. 

If you liked Ouran High School Host Club, you'll like Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge too. That is because both of them are about a girl that stays around a group of pretty boys. Together they are going trough a lot of funny adventures. I don't know how to put it, but I think that you won't regret! o.- 

They are both shoujo and reverse harem. Also the protagonist female of both series undergoes a transformation. The series are also both comedies. 

Both revolve around a reluctant heroine stuck in a group of hilarious bishonen in a sort of "reverse-harem" theme. In both they go through funny situations and the character interactions are very much alike. While there is more of a plot line in Ouran both anime share a very similar theme and comedy. If you loved Ouran; you'll love Wallflower too! x 

If you're into reverse harems, then these anime's are a few of those. Both anime's have their sets of bishounens to awe and dazzle the females and of course a main shoujo...a shoujo that's not beauty-conscious and disregards her appearance but would be very kawaii if only she knows and is willing to fix herself up... These anime's will leave you laughing in your seat with their excessive humor and romance that you will really look forward to. 

They are both fun to watch and revolve around an interesting girl who has to deal with a handful cute guys. You'll see some similar characteristics between the two shows when you watch. ^_^ 

Both feature the popular idea of the 'reverse harem' with the female main character spending all her time with the male counterparts. Both the female protagonists are similar in that they are indifferent to the boy's charms and are forced into spending time together. Haruhi (Ouran) broke the expensive vase so she has to serve in the Host Club - Sunako (Yamato Nadeshiko) is sent to her aunt's house where four boys live free of rent, only if they can turn Sunako into a beautiful lady.

Ouran High School Host Club and Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge (The Wallflower) may appear different on the surface, but when you start watching, the two series really do have a lot in common. First is the fact that the main, female protagonist is forced to be around an attractive group of men. Although Haruhi, from Ouran, and Sunako, from The Wallflower, act different, they share the same "not a typical woman" kind of personality. The basic idea of the story is similar as well, but other than that, the stories are pretty different. Because of the difference characteristics of the male protagonists, the story doesn't match very well past the main idea. Overall, the series have the same feel and basic idea for female protagonists. I'm not saying the viewer will love both of them, but if you like one, the other does deserve at least a look. read more

Both have very similar humor and a lot of strange things going on such as crossdressing and awkward moments. They both focus on a girl who is surronded by gorgeous boys but doesn't get all excited about it like most girls would. Plus both have Vic Mignogna!  

They're both Reverse Harem animes, only three continuous female characters, two of which don't appear much at the beginning. Both comedy, both animes where the leading female and the leading male seem to have crushes on each other, just in this case, they don't know it. YNSH is a lot darker than Ouran HSHC, but they are both still very cute. 

Both deal with a set of beautiful boys trying to help out one girl. In each case a new girl arrives and they help her. Both are absolutely hilarious. in ouran its about a girl who transfers to an academy but she is mistaken for a boy. In the Wallflower the main girl is seen as scary and creepy. Both have goals to turn the female into a beautiful women. Its a must watch anime both, hilarious.

Both series have female protagonists surrounded by beautiful men and they are both school comedy and romance. Even though i like Ouran High School Host Club more, if you enjoyed The Wallflower, you really should watch Ouran High School Host Club. 

these two titles both include the genre "bishounen" (which means that an anime includes hot guys xD) but the story is different. the wall flower is basically about these attractive guys trying to change a girl in love with death,spirits,blood and ect into a lady while ohhc story is the there's a host club with a host thats really a girl trying to pay off the vase she broke. ^^ 

I was surprised this one isn't here yet Well, in both anime the main heroine is surrounded by (hot) boys against her own will The boys in both anime have a special 'type' (prince type, cute type, playboy, etc.) In both anime there is a another girl close to the group (Ouran-Renge and Yamato-Noi)  

Ouran High School Host Club and Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge (The Wallflower in English) both consist of a female main character that does not look their best, and good-looking male students trying to make them more ladylike. Though, the boys' reasons for trying to make the female more ladylike are different, both have romance as well as comedy, with a little bit of darkness at some point in the story. 

They have the 'really pretty' male characters and the 'fragile but strong' main girl. It's basically the story of a girl that live with pretty boys, and in both of cases, the girl isn't a 'perfect lady', but likes to do the 'home service' and the boys try to make her become one. 

Reverse harem shows that actually make an effort to capture your interest. Quirky heroines, over-the-top shenanigans, and ridiculous male characters allow both shows to rise above the negative connotations of the genre.  

In both of these anime heroines fall into society of handsome men, which opens a great comedy plot. 

*Both are reverse harems, have the typical pretty boy cast, and end ripping your expectations of an unoriginal plot and characters to shreds. Although I admit that The Wallflower (alternate name for Yamato Nadeshiko Schichi Henge) isn't as amazing as Ouran (my opinion), it is wonderful in its own way. So what are you still doing here? Go watch it!  

This is very similar to ouran high school host club. it is toned down on the romantic side and amped up on the funny side. it almost goes too far in the whole cute guys side of things as is probs a bit embarrassing to watch with a group but is still absolutely enjoyable. 

Both are reverse Harems with an out of place female character the main differences is in Ouran they exploit the female's confusing appearance, whereas in Yamato they are trying to make the lead more feminine. Both leads are talented and quite pretty when they try. Both are surrounded by 'pretty boys'. I think I like Ouran a little better, except for the over-used banana peel gag. 

The major similarities between these shows are that they are both reverse harem and full of comedy. The shows are not all that similar from there on, and Yamato Nadeshiko Shichihenge(The Wallflower) does not have as much to bring as Ouran Highschool Host Club in the ways of art/animation and the characters in general. However, depending on what show you enjoyed and for what reasons I believe it is worth checking out the other. 

If you like Ouran, you might like this show also, as they handle the same theme of a not-so-feminine girl trying to get along with astonishingly handsome but equally vain boys. The big difference is that Yamato Nadeshiko ShichiHenge focuses more on cracking merciless jokes on the "loveliness" of these boys than really portraying them as "lovely". I guess this series parodies the bishounen-element Ouran relies on.

Very similar in terms of comedy with a refreshing protagonist. Both are very comedic, story and character driven shows which explore themes in a fun way. 

The Wallflower and Ouran High School Host Club have very similar comedy. They also both revolve around a group of handsome young "gentlemen" trying to make a non-typical girl into a proper lady, in one way or another. The main differences are the romance in Ouran that isn't as apparent in the Wallflower. They are both A LOT of fun so enjoy! 

I recently got introduced to Yamato Nadeshiko Shichihenge and straight away noticed its uncanny resemblance to Ouran in terms of humour, themes and an all round feel-good sense. Highly recommend! 

Both of the female leads are considered to be creepy, but are actually just shy and awkward, but sweet. They are also in love with guys who are considered "out of their league"  

Both of the lead female protagonist are like Sadako from the ring. Also both of them are being looked down at because of how they look but that doesn't mean they dont know how to fight!. Their strong characters come out when their friends are being looked down at; this attitude they both have comes out when the lead female meets the lead guy and her life suddenly changes for the better =3 

Both animes deal with girls who have a scary aura to the students around them. It is about how they are ostrazied for being different, one through choice, (Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge), and one through the fact she is different and needs the chance to open up, (Kime ni Todoke). They deal with issues that suround the day to day life and has a somewhat gothic feel to them. The one difference is, Yamato exagerates the situation, while Kime is more realistic. 

have you gotten around to watching kimi ni todoke? if not u so should its ~super kawaii like a different take on wallflower/yamato nadeshiko shichi henge but sawako ie sadako is all pure sweet on the inside and loves girrly things but just cant help but be terrifying to her classmates and teachers ~pffft awesome and sunako nakahara from wallflower well shes pure hearted aswell but she revels in dark things and dark places and sunako has no intrest in making friends or being kawaii her loves are all sentered around what can only be seen as kowaii (>_<) both are awesome animes worth watching. *smiles* 

Heroine is a sensitive girl but she have spooky apearance, so other people be afraid of her. She's in love with a boy, who is very popular. And they have very cute chibi-versions. 

A story about a girl who everyone is afraid of. Sunako and Sadako have mainly different characters and different reasons for being scary, but both, deep in their hearts, are really good girls and can be cute when try. Also, they adore the biggest bishounen and happen to interact with them in various ways. Those are so far the only similarities I've noticed. The story goes on in a totally different way.

Both of the lead female protagonist look like Sadako from the ring. Also both of them are being looked down at because of how they look. They both turn chibi sometimes.  

Both anime series have a girl who is self-concious and keeps to herself. Sawako, however, is much nicer, and actually gets over her fears and problems.

In both animes, there is Sadako-like main character who is eccentric and unsocial. We witness their character development as they try to socialize and make friends. But, while Kimi Ni Todoke is a romance anime, The Wallflower is on the comedy side. 

they both have girls that are very similar in some ways and dont have any friends at the begining of the anime, but then they both, over time, become friends with other people.  

While the feel and style of these anime are different, they both are about a girl who is often misunderstood by other people. In both stories the girl is viewed as creepy and through their experiences learns to change some parts of themselves while coming to accept others.

Kimi ni Todoke is similat to the wallflower because both girls are creepy.(in a sense). Both girls don't think there good enough. But at the same time one excepts there flaws and chooses to be that way, and the other wants to be help herself and be different 

The Wallflower (YAMATO) really has the same type of main character--both kind of scary and creepy--but while the lead in The Wallflower embraces that, the lead in Kimi is just misunderstood. Overall, I found a lot of similarities between the two main protagonists that I thought could not be overlooked to make this recommendation.

Both main characters are the same except the fact that Nakahara Sunako is actually creepy, scary and weird and Kuronuma, Sawako seems really creepy scary and weird but she is really sweet. Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge(wallflower) is more comedy then romance while Kimi ni Todoke is more making friends drama-ish and romance ♥

Anime are very similar in terms of the main character, both like scary things, and both are trying to change 

Both deal with girls who are scary. Both have a popular guy who falls in love with them. Both of the girls can cook really good. Both have comedy and romance. 

Both girls start as socially inept and are seen as creepy by their peers. 

Both VERY similar. They both show chibi versions of the main character, both look very similar and both girls are very bad with people. However, Sunako (YNSH) wants to be left alone most of the time. Both of them have a great sense of dark humor as well, though YNSH is funnier. Both also have similar moods. Kimi Ni Todoke is more romantic. 

Main female characters are surprisingly similar both as apperance and their interaction with the others. Both are labeled as 'freaky' by their classmates. In Kimi ni Todoke main female's tendency to darkness is a misunderstanding whereas in Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge, she was really into gothic stuff. So it will be a great experience for you to be able observe and compare the paths these two females follow considering that they have started from the same point. 

i guess the only thing similar from both anime is that its Heroine has similar characteristics and their appearance ( they both kinda remind me of each other) Kimi ni Todoke is romance while The Wallflower is reverse harem but still both great anime 

The main characters of the two series are both socially inept ladies, they are interpreted as creepy girls. However as the story progresses, the heroines will find themselves in situations which they never expected would happen. A more exciting world with friends and lovers. 

These anime are both led by a female character, who is always associated with supernatural and frightening situations, while actually she just struggles to make friends. At first sight, these protagonists scare everyone they meet, but they hide a strong and kind personality, gradually highlighted by the other characters around them. 

both anime has ultra cool and intelligent heroine, and both of them contains less romance than the other shoujo anime.(don't missunderstand me, it's still a shoujo anime which is good =) 

Both series have got a LOOOOT of bishie, girl with an "original dark side" and to me, when Yahiro is thinking about Kyoku and Ren, he's somewhat like Yuki, Ranmaru and Takenaga when they talking about Sunako and Kyohei. These anime are a veeeeery crazy comedy.

Both tell a story about a a cinderella-type, cooking and cleaning loving girl with an evil aura, in a land of bishounens. Both are really good romance-comedies, though SB! is more of a romance and YNSH more of a comedy.

In a way, these two animes are quite alike, but in another way they are different. If you like the humour, mood, and reverse harem in either of the animes, the other one is absolutely a must watch! 

Both of them are very entertaining en heartwarming!! Kyoko en Sunako are both a somewhat scary but are both lovable as you get to know them better!!Both deserve to be watched en both are certainly a must see!enjoy:) 

it's both about a girl. that is thinking that she is not pretty enough. the girl in Skip Beat want revenge because her first love say that she is nothing, so she want to win him , but in Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge is the girl uncertain about her appearance en want to be pretty. 

The main characters remind me of each other. Also, they both can't stand a certain guy. I laughed hard at each anime, but both have their occasional touching moments. 

-Both have comedic chibi-like expressions -Both are reverse harems with hot guys (Although, The Wallflower has a bigger harem) -Both female MCs were dumped by the guy they like Both are great animes to watch if you're a rom-com fan. 

Both have some pretty spicy female leads in alot of crazy antics and and alot of wacky dacky types of comedy in it as well too. 

Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge is like the older, more well developed sibling to Kuragehime. While I think both are equally enjoyable, I felt YNSH had more overall depth to it. There is also more comedy, however Kuragehime really held it's own and I found myself more attached to its characters, whereas I have trouble remembering many of Yamato Nadeshiko's chatacter's names. If you enjoyed one I would highly recommend the other, which, while I see the obvious similarities, I could not say for Paradise Kiss or Ouran Host Club. ...ok, maybe for Ouran... But seriously, watch Yamato Nadeshiko if you haven't yet because it's awesome! read more 

A theme that runs through both of these Anime are females who fear pretty people because they don't feel they are worthy of each other. The girls that live at the establishment are also all otaku. And don't let jellyfish otaku turn you off either. 

Both have as a protagonist that considers herself as "ugly" and is an antisocial girl with a weird obsession, and also doesn't like to go out of her house, while the main guy that is an outstanding beauty, starts helping her, while she tries to avoid him. The main girls also share the fact that they have a "best friend" related somehow to their obsession: Sunako has Hirochi-kun (a skeleton), and Tsukimi has Clara, (a cute jellyfish). Both are great comedies with hints of romance.  

It also stars a girl who thinks she isn't pretty and a boy (or in this case boys) who is admired for his beauty who tries to transform her into a gorgeous girl. They have the same feel about them and they are both really funny. 

-Both focus on the tension between people who are fashionable and beautiful, vs. those who are plain and ordinary. Also demonstrate the shallowness of judging people by their exterior, despite the fact that looking beautiful gives you power in society. -Rich, fashionable main characters try to get the unfashionable ones to dress up and look stylish themselves. -Our plain and ordinary main characters are (otakus) who are content with who they are and their hobbies. But they are scared to death of fashionable, beautiful people. -Lots of scary women attack or molest the male characters, or generally make their life difficult because they're good looking. Main difference is that Yamato has a LOT more comedy, and even has parody.  read more 

In both series the main characters have trouble getting a boyfriend because of their apperance and can't stand seeing beutyfull people. 

They both have reclusive female leads that are overwelmed by beauty and have a character trying to give them a makeover. 

If Yamato is the loud, sharp and uncharming big brother, then Kuragehime is the soft and nice younger sister. It has the same sort of character setup, except they are more earnest. It is down to earth and relaxing to watch, unlike Yamato. The characters are more rounded and kind, and believable, unlike Yamato, which only displays this scarcely near the end 

Both stories about a girl becoming a princess.. at least at the beginning! As the stories go on, we discover that they are stories of girls being accepted and loved as who they are.  

These are both stories about a "quirky" girl who finds her beauty. Or is forced to find it, which leads to interesting situations in both cases. They're both hilarious and have characters you won't forget. 

They both have girls with terrible hygiene, and boys that help in the story. the wallflower is a lot more comical than the jellyfish princess(much more sweet). But the main male lead in princess jellyfish is a drag queen but both still kind of has the same story plot. I think they're both equally funny. You should enjoy watching both.  

Both stories is about a girl surrounded by cute guys. It touches friendship, love, comedy, and slice of life. I find yamato nadeshiko more funny than fruits basket. Fruits basket has more drama than yamato nadeshiko. 

Fruits Basket and Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge (The Wallflower) are very, very similar, at least on the surface. Each one has a main, female protagonist that lives with a group of men. Tohru, from Fruits Basket, acts very differently than Sunako, from The Wallflower, but they're thrown into a very similar situation. The main difference is Tohru went there on her own while Sunako was forced to live with them. Another character similarity falls between Kyo, from Fruits Basket, and Kyohei, from The Wallflower. Despite having the same letters in their name, they both have the ability to get really ticked off at the female protagonist for very silly reasons. They also get into fights with others. The story, because of the difference in the female protagonists, isn't really the same. The main idea is there, but that's about it. Everything else in the story is completely different. Still, they have enough in common to say that if you liked one, you should at least give the other a look. read more 

Both contains similar theme. Main female lead who are not so social suddenly find them selves living with the most beautiful and the most popular guys of their high school and end up with a relationship. They both are funny and will make you laugh big time. Both have sweat and deep plot and character development. And Main character's relationship with the boys make them realize something every day bring an adventures one after another. They also meet different peoples ,And their life changes. 

Both have similar main character - girls who have antisocial character and their own weird intrests. Conversation is hard for them but they're trying to change something in funny way. Generally ambience of anime is similar. 

Both series have a dark sense of humor, and feature a strong heroine that is considered a "creepy", "ugly", "outcast". These are very different yet somewhat similar with it's form of humor and it's dark shoujo theme about teen girls who haven't really found their true selves quite yet. 

Both protagonists are: - obscure - with low self-esteem - sloppy - hopeless - have exotic hobbies - funny - weird 

They both have some overarching plot, Tenma trying to confess to Karasuma and Sunako becoming a lady, while each episode is filled with some silly randomness that you can't help but enjoy.  

The comedy feels quite similar since both series are borderline gag anime. Both Sunako and Harima have an existential crisis while ignoring their true potential. Both animes also involve delinquents and blonde tsunderes. 

Special A and Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge are both incredibly funny, they both had me literally on the floor laughing throughout the whole thing. If you love this anime, then you should DEFINITELY check out Special A. Another thing: They both have hot guys in it with cool heroins that won't irritate you for being the average sweet, weak, mary-sue-ish heroin that some other animes have. ^0^  

The most striking similarity is that fantastic and hilarious things happen on a regular basis, where the laws of physics are often blown away for our entertainment. This is valid for both animes, but I think is comes out stronger I think in Yamato. Also you get (some) romance mixed in with a relatively funny but at times frustrating rivalry between the two components of the main couple. Also the characters are all in the same age group, although in Special A almost everything happens at school whilst in Yamato the mansion is the main setting. 

Too much chibi form - the biggest similarity between these two, then we have this light hearted humor (well in Yamato Nadeshiko Shuchihenge its very dark but light..ehm you´ll understand me later). + we have the male protagonists trying to help female MC (caring for their eating habits, making a lady out of them and so.) Anyway, if you´re not looking for a deep plot, and you want to laugh a bit, try these out :) 

Both have a main character who doesn't want to stand out, both have a bunch of hot guys hanging out with the creepy girl, both have an unique kind of humor 

Well the main character Takumi Usui is very similar to Kyohei Takano, they have slightly different personalities but if you like Usui then definitely you'll like Kyohei too. Misaki Ayuzawa with a slight boyish attitude but very beautiful, similar to Sunako Nakahara. Both animes have different plots, but the comedy and romance is with in it. 

Both have female leads that are facing some struggles in life at the moment and then comes the cute guys who comes and saves the day real good as well too. 

They both have similar concept of a popular guy falling for a girl who is most shy in school and had given up on making friends. In both anime the guy tries to change the girl to start making friends and to be beautiful. In both anime the main guy is a model but in Say I love you ,he was a model for short time. The main guy seems to be chasing my many girls who can do anything for his love. But in Yamato Nadeshiko Shichihenge there are many guys who tries to change the girl. 

It's so similar. But in The Wallflower the girl is a total freak for gore and the guys are trying to make the girl into a lady.  

Plot centered around men trying to make the MC become a lady. Comedy ensues. If you want a lighthearted comedy and romance, I recommend watching Yamato Nadeshiko after Romantic Killer.  

Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge, is very similar to Hana Yori Dango For instance, both girls are considered ugly by peers and often made fun of. However, both tend to get revenge back upon those people. Also both are surrounded by a group of guys that all of the students idolize/ envy. Yamato Nadeshiko however is more comical and less dramatic. Though they are still pretty close. I would definitely say this is a much watch if you loved Hana Yori Dango

Crazy dudes around them and girls just tryna make it in the world, both have very similar stories and vibes. Both have top notch humour and are super un-traditional shoujos. 

Perhaps an unlikely recommendation but there are some prominent similarities: -lots of bishies; -Yaoi tropes; -humour that verges on sheer absurdity, cringe even; -highly enjoyable and addicting for a right viewer; -emotional; -has a gothic aspect/aesthetics; -main duo dynamics ar somewhat similar and some side characters are similar as well; -mansions and luxury. I absolutely love both but BB certainly has a higher production level and overall a more serious tone. 

The storylines and target audiences are different, but they both have a lot of over-the-top comedy, gags, and parodies. 

They both have the same kind of humor. In both series they build the story around a main character having extreme nosebleeds in everyday situations. The difference is that in Maria Holic the main character is attracted to girls, and in Yamato Nadeshiko Shichihenge she's attracted to boys. Both animes use a lot of overly dramatic dramatic effects and random events for comedy effect. If you like one of the series you'll probably like the other one as well!
