Glorious animation just like Garden of Words from earlier this year. I expected nothing less from Makoto Shinkai. OST is pretty calm I guess...

I wish this was longer though. I just love the heartwarming family moments though:

Why in this OVA only few shots with "Okamura, Mother"?
She left her family?

Saw a bit of the raw already, but still waiting for a subbed version. Saw the subs in the comments, but I'd rather watch it in the vid. LOL Anyway, it's really gorgeous as usual.

So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

The death of their cat brought the family back together.

Shinkai Makoto doing great as usual :). I like both the loneliness and family moments. Also nice ending!

Not bad. Aside from the usual high-grade animations, this is the first Makoto Shinkai's work that I truly like the plot. =)

7/10 Liked it, but it was too short to get into it. Really beautiful music and animation like always, Shinkai-sensei.

That was beautiful, Makoto Shinkai is really great at making shorts. Although only ~5 minutes, I cried when Aya got the news that Mii-chan passed away, and from there on until the end. I guess it depends on how much you can connect to it for someone to get emotionally involved, and for me, it was a theme that I understand well. It also kind of reminded me a little of She and Her Cat. I love how at the end Aya said she's come to visit her father's new girlfriend haha.

Typical Shinkai movie. Really nothing special, and the visuals were a bit weak for Shinkai. 5/10

That animation! And that ending, I didn't expect it to turn so good. My emotions all over the place. Loved it! If it was just a bit longer then I would have given it a 10/10, but for now, 9/10.

In one word,

"Beautiful!"

Makoto Shinkai's movies always left you with mood to contemplate on your previous life and this one is no different. With only six minutes, it manages something other animes cannot do in whole series.

Something by Shinkai that isn't bad romance? I'll take it.

Considering most of his films are slight variations on the same thing, that doesn't say much. This is more of an interesting statement:

I'm tempted to agree, but I think I prefer Children Who Etc., if only because it's a beautiful Castle in the Sky sequel.

That was a lovely watch, I do have a weakness for stories told from the view of pets though. So likely the one I felt the most for was the cat. I'm glad that in the end her life did bring the people around her closer though, pets are family most definitely. :)

Nothing much to say here....since the anime was only 6 minutes long..
It was short, but really beautiful.
This film portrays the general perspective of cherishing one's own family, even a pet is part of your family, sometimes you just don't realize until someone dies.
