SynopsisIn the sequel, Hei and Yin are now on the run after betraying the Syndicate in the previous season. After leaving Japan, Hei encounters Suou Pavlichenko, a 13 year old Eurasian girl who becomes embroiled in the war and politics of the various factions and Contractors vying for power. Meanwhile, Hell's Gate remains standing in Tokyo, after Hei's efforts to stop the Saturn Ring anti-Gate particle weapon from activating. Although Contractors are safe from the danger of having their existences erased, this does not prevent new and old Contractors from abusing their powers. As Misaki Kirihara and her team in the Public Security Bureau deal with the increasing Contractor cases, she also has to keep the Syndicate at bay, who has major positions in the Japanese police and intelligence bureaus around the world. The storyline setting primarily takes place in both Japan and Russia.

Oh, Bones, Thank goodness you started DTB in the first place.
THIS IS A REVIEW ON THE FIRST COUPLE EPISODES, AND I WILL UPDATE IT WHEN MORE EPISODES COME OUT.
First off, DTB2 is NOT the original DTB. Bones have made some pretty big changes between seasons: setting main cast of characters, story, etc. It's better to look at DTB2 as more of a spin-off of the original DTB: if you liked season 1 because of the idea of the series (contractors et all), then you will most likely enjoy season 2. Now, onto the review:
Story
It is VERY different from the original DTB. First of all, it seems to be one continuous narrative instead of two-episode mini-arcs like in the original season. I happened to like the mini-arc format, but BONES obviously knows what they're doing: the story is as rich and detailed as ever. Like season 1, the story is centered around contractors, humans who have super powers but need a remuneration afterward. Instead of focussing on Hei, most of the spotlight is on Suou, a Russian/Japanese girl whose brother is a contractor.
Art
Some very big changes since season 1. Most notably is Hei's appearance: his mask is scratched, his coat is tattered, and he hasn't shaved in a while. In addition, the animation is sleeker, and the contractor's abilities are truly awe-worthy.
Sound
Like the first season, the sound is superb. The OP is definitely different, but in a good way, and the EP is one of my all time favorites.
Character
Hei takes a minor role so far in the series, which I actually prefer due to the ability to see more stellar characters. Suou is the focus of the series, and she is one of my favorite characters in all DtB, including 1st season Hei and Huang.
Enjoyment
Like always, DtB never ceases to surprise me. I absolutely love the new characters and contractors already introduced, and I expect there to be more as the series progresses. July, the MI6 doll in the first season, also seems to have a larger role than in season 1, which I think is awesome. And, like the first season, it is really fun to piece together each contractor's power and remuneration. read more

After i heard there was comming a new season of Darker Than Black , i was of course very happy for hearing this , but as soon as the word about Hei and Yin not being there i was abit unsure if this season would be that great , but apperently they will show up , atleast hei.
After watching one episode this is what i got so fare.
_Story_
The story takes place in russia , after the saturn ring was destroyed Hei is now on the run. After watching the first episode we meet Suou Pavlichenko, a 13 year old Eurasian girl. cheerfull and knows very much about contractrors. Now of course im not going to place a huge spoiler here ,Suou also got a elder/little brother(?) named Shion . They both got hit by something i will call a meteor , and somehow Shion became a contractor. Suou on the other hand werent effected at all. Think it would be best to not tell so much about the first episode so we'll stop here.
_Art_
The art are just the same as the first season , good as always.
As always they manage to pull of making every character unique, not the same boring body form , faces etc like we see in other anime. So fare i've liked the animation very good.
_Sound_
The Music is also like in the first season super, very nice soundtracks when ''dramatic'' event ocur, also calm music in more calm/easy scene's. Big plus here aswell.
_Character_
All the characters are exellent , as i did mention with the art , all the characters good their very own style , mood and such. Something im very happy to see , not the same boring thing over and over again.
_Enjoyment_
Yes of course ! this new season of DTB is very enjoyable , i've only seen the first episode so fare but so fare , so good. Tomorrow i'll most likely watch the second one if its avaible :) cant wait for the next episodes in the future.
_Overall_
So fare so good as i did mention , of course i've only watched 1 episode but for what i know this can be good or bad , time will show. For now i cant do much more than wait for more episodes and come back to it :)
